I'm three quarters of the way through a 30 day juice fast/detox program and will be baking Christmas cookies, biscotti and pumpkin bread tomorrow.  I'm already salivating.  Help!  I need motivation to not cheat because I really want to pig out.

When I was doing strict low carbs and cooking for um's, I just didn't think of it as food I could consume. Sort of like play-doh food. Pretty, but not edible.
 
I might be nuts, but it worked for me. (well, ok. I am nuts. [;)]lol)

A juice fast? Is this a religion thing? There are a bunch of them now that don't screw with yer food, yanno... it pays to shop around.

Ha....I like the play doh idea.  I've eaten play doh in the past and it's disgusting.

Fasting is healthy now? Jesus, i can't keep up with the will-help-you-live-longer/will-give-you-cancer shit. Guess i need to watch more TV.

Thank god it ends in time for Christmas Eve.  Put some of the homemade goodies aside for yourself, and indulge next week.  It's not that far off.

Yeah, I could get hit by a bus.  Odds are that I won't.  Odds are much greater that I have some sort of heart attack based on my genetics.  Odds are that it's a supportive move for someone I love who's dealing with serious health issues and is also doing the fast.  Odds are it gives him some peace of mind that I'm helping to heal some of my own health issues.

Odds are, you'd rather be eating cookies, and on your deathbed you STILL won't be wishing you'd spent more time fasting.
