Aw, nakedonmychain, do you adore the Kushiel books too? I thought about using a trusted childhood friend's name as Phedre does, but really I get so far beyond words that I am sure I would have a hard time with more than red, which I am supposed to use if I need to.

swordfish and avocado come to mind as strange words people use.

I also enjoy that some people don't so much have safeword as "If you do that again, when I get out of this I will rip your balls off!"  I laughed so hard when I first encountered that particular type of direct communication.

Sunnyfey -> RE: Funniest Safewords (5/9/2008 2:16:32 AM)

Dont tend to hear anyone yell a safe word in my group, is that a good thing? /seen people drop red bandanas and such but no yelling of safewords. except once.....

"cottencandy cottencandy cottencandy you bastard!!!!"

maybe not so funny out of context, but at the time i about died laughing when i heard it.

DMFParadox -> RE: Funniest Safewords (5/9/2008 3:29:21 AM)

No, it's still funny out of context.

I had a sub that could.not.ever. remember her safeword.  So I made 'safeword' her safeword.

Guess what?  She forgot it.

Sigh.

smilingjaguar -> RE: Funniest Safewords (5/9/2008 12:01:36 PM)

Mine is "i want a compaq".  We both used to be IT people and we had this horrendously unreliable compaq that drove both of us to the brink of insanity.  We were trying to think of a word or phrase that would never come out of my mouth (I like to protest, cuss, etc), and that's what I came up with.  It takes some guts to say that phrase still....

The best is the name of a sub she is afraid would be willing to do more.

bluewagon122 -> RE: Funniest Safewords (5/9/2008 6:12:38 PM)

Hi all, how about "BINGO!" for a funny safeword?  If a gag is used a yellow ping pong ball with a happyface on it, dropping it is a signal to stop and 'check in' (like a yellow) in case the sub is in la la land or needs to say something.  A bell would work too.
I have a 'fubar' (tool) I got it at one of the big box hardware stores.  Also a relative had a dog named fubar too.
Or how about 'Woah!'  Just saying the dom's name in a certain tone would get their attention.

What's the funniest safeword you've ever used or heard?

I've heard circus clown, and Buttonwillow (a small town in N.CA).

Gfeltifish

SylvereApLeanan -> RE: Funniest Safewords (5/9/2008 7:26:09 PM)

My favorite is "absinthe."

Bluebird -> RE: Funniest Safewords (5/10/2008 1:29:57 AM)

If there is likely to be yelling, cursing, etc. from beneath a gag, I like singing/humming Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  Obviously the cadence and tone is wrong and there is no danger of missing a single grunt/noise or a specific word being muffled.

If they think they don't know/won't remember Twinkle, remind them it's the same as the alphabet song  [:D]

Justme696 -> RE: Funniest Safewords (5/10/2008 3:15:34 AM)

"beat me"
