Quick reply:

I needed to be owned and managed so those things occuring with R( who has a drive to own and manage people) certainly made me feel more relaxed and at peace. I don't think it would of been any different if we had not been ownership oriented people and had found one another. I believe we both would still feel like we had finally come home.

cause she had 19 (plus 6 married-in grandchildren) grandchildren.  honestly, if she pointed to you and gave the correct gender, we were pretty happy.  cheryl was actually pretty close to my name cause her dad and my dad were my granny's only sons (out of 9 children).

holidays were mixed hell and riotous joy.

It is funny how the many, many successful and happy couples here there and everywhere don't constantly post about how "thrilled" they are to be in a relationship every day.

It is getting as bad as those posts that say, Why can't I find someone.

Does the OP honestly think we are hanging on her every word about how happy she is in her relationship? Should I post everytime I have a good day or bad day?

Maybe it's me and you Katylied, I guess we are just bitter as the OP said. Or just more self aware and centered?

LMAO! I love that, kitten. you just cracked me up and even better than that? now I have a visual to utilize every time someone posts some smug drivel, I will automatically hear just a fart in the wind!!

Thanks for lightening it all up, kitten!! [:D]

Aren't you just adding fuel to the fire by pointing out the smugness of the OP? Each time you post to this thread, it is moved to the top of the forum for all to see. I mean, I appreciate that you pointed out a fact that a less observant poster may have missed, but you're not really helping the problem.

In my opinion, just ignore these posts and move on. The cold shoulder is always more effective.

No offense intended to the OP, of course. I am happy you have found a piece of happiness in this dismal world.

Thanks, genius for your sterling revelations. Now we can go back to our regularly scheduled smugness.

I think that it is wonderful when someone finds themselves and what they want in a relationship...

I know when I have been healing from a heartache, or feeling lonely, I tend to not enjoy spending time with those happily coupled.  I have on occasion been in moods when seeing happy couples made me want to throw up a little bit in my mouth... but at least I realized it was my emotional state that made me feel that way, not the actions of those who were happy. No one can make me feel anything unless I  let them... I never thought that those who were "bragging" (for wont of a better word) were doing so to make me feel bad, be smug, or in anyway try to be superior to me...

I find in life it is much preferable not to use other people as my excuse to feel bad.

cindybee -> RE: Being owned (12/18/2007 11:38:35 PM)

I like the smugness. But I also like made-for-TV movied starring Melissa Gilbert.

Not that some submissives might not find their happiness progressing towards and into becoming a slave, but I want to put the other perspective out there that it doesn't have to be this way. At first I almost felt inferior because I had no desire to be a slave, or owned property, and I don't want others to put themselves through that. But to all those who find their happiness in that, I'm really glad for them and that they had the strength to seek out and find that which fulfills them.

Tigrita you are both beautiful and wise!  It was worth bumping the thread just to thank you for your words of wisdom.  [:)]

Happiness doesn't come from the evolution of a submissive into a slave.  Happiness comes from being true to yourself and your relationship, regardless of the labels or how your submission compares to anothers.

To CuriousLord, I consider myself owned in the same way we own our pets.  I don't consider a pet to be property, but others may.  Pet's have rights of their own accord, awarded to them by the ASPCA, humane society and similar organizations.  Property has no rights, and is only protected from trespass by the rights of the owner.

You are very kind and i take no offense at all.. When i did ignore them a few felt the need to bash me by e-mail. i have blocked them so i guess they will either start the bashing on the threads again  (not that they have stopped) or find someone else to tear apart.  Happy Holidays!

Okay, honey (yeah, it's sarcasm, just in case you are confused), it's not like you weren't doing some bashing by email, was it?  And who sent the first emails?  It's interesting that you act so wonderful here, yet send emails calling people "petty" "jealous" and "childish".

I had that happen recently, someone from the forums flamed me in private email, and when I went to respond to tell her that I did not want hard feelings she had blocked me[:D]. I found that pretty amusing.
