I really don't know what it is with so called pushy Doms. It would seem to me that any coming on like a bull in a china shop should get just what they deserve and nothing more ‘A bill for all the breakage and a ring thought their nose’

And all I can say to the OP is be very careful of how you lump people together and what you say about them. Many many times, one unthinking comment can come back to bite you in the ass.

I was like you once. I said "I'm no slave" (as if "slave" was something to be abhorred...)

And in time, with the right person, I have found that that's exactly who and what I am..

You may too.

You have no idea - even if you think you do. Time and perspective tends to change many of our deeply held beliefs - this may be one of them, even if it seems impossible right now.

(oh yea... and it wouldn't hurt to apologize to the people you've insulted for the misunderstanding. A little crow eating tends to go a long way)

May be the people you are talking about have isolated themselves in their own cocoon. Not being disrespectful to anyone, but in my opinion when like minded people gather together in isolation, or as you say longetivity they tend to get more extreme in their views.

But no matter how painful though, listening to opposing views is what helps us define our own voice. And in my short experience at Collarme, I’ve found the views of many posters here very diverse, thoughtful, educational, witty, and intelligent and at times humorous.

Even with views that some of us think are rude and judgmental, there is a lesson in them to be learned.

1. Why are all online Doms pushy?
2. Why are all online subs so overtly submissive to everyone they meet (i.e., "*curtsy* Hello Sir. Please forgive me for interrupting you, but...")?
3. Why are all emails that begin with "On your knees bitch" seen as obnoxious (except to those that crave them)?
4. Why is the "accepted" progression Master/Mistress>Dom(me)>Switch>Sub>Slave?
5. Why do all these annoying subs contact me begging me to Dominate them online?
6. Why can't people spell? Punctuate? Write?
7. Why all the hate? Love? Sex? Dirty wet stuff?
8. Why does it seem that there are tons of male subs looking for Mistresses, Male doms looking for female subs, and so many people wanting the perfect physical, emotional, financial, and mental package that they forget that "growing" a relationship is what builds the perfect relationship?
9. Why do people think you need to capitalize Dom and Mistress, but not capitalize Sub or Slave?
10. Where can I find a female slave, 5'4 to 5'8, 30-35, slim to fit, with long legs, large breasts (b-d cup), good kisser, who is loving, creative, cuddly, strong enough to survive on her own, and call me on my crap when it's needed, but who really wants/needs to be protected, taken care of, and who loves the freedom of being owned? I prefer brunettes, with long hair and a sultry look who is into oral, anal, and basically everything that doesn't involve drugs, scat, too much blood, animals, or group activities.... is that asking too much?

Bottom line here:
1. Stereotypes exist because enough people behave in a certain way that over time it becomes a recognized "type".
2. The internet allows people to react any way they want.
3. You are free to react how you choose, from taking offense to laughing your ass off to deleting and moving on. It's your choice, make it and be happy with it.
4. There's no such thing as a REAL Dom, or a REAL sub, there's only people, with all their mixed up complexity. Who said it would be easy?
5. If you treat other's with respect, you soon weed out the ones that don't deserve it.
6. Pushy and Dom seem to be synonymous, so in some sense, that IS EXACTLY what you should expect.
7. This is a group that exists BECAUSE they have decided NOT to conform to the largest sets of stereotypical behaviors. They're going to be different. They'll accept your difference if you accept theirs.
8. If you can't take the heat, get naked.
