The most usual complaint other than speed seems to be they cannot view fresh meat as quickly and have to actually switch to next matches too quickly, and that slows down their hunting time.

You say that like it's a bad thing..... lol

And speed is a major issue even with a broadband connection.

I read the forums alot and a complaint I often see is non-seeking couples being contacted by those seeking a relationship because they didn't read their profile. My first thought when I saw the new page was......won't this make the problem even worse? Why look at the profile when the pic is right on the front page alongside the user name?

Well it must be a wonderful place to live, that place where mediocrity and substandard conditions are considered preferred because they are "free".  It just isn't a valid argument.  A simple search of previous forum posts will prove i have always desired a pay site where one might have input.  Whether or not i paypaled a donation, didn't achieve the desired effect because it still did not ever provide me the opportunity to be heard.

The powers that be would benefit from a bit of training in Total Quality Management, which has been clearly lacking for some time.  That is, the following four process steps, namely:
  1. Kaizen – Focuses on "Continuous Process Improvement", to make processes visible, repeatable and measurable.
  2. Atarimae Hinshitsu – The idea that "things will work as they are supposed to" (for example, a pen will write).
  3. Kansei – Examining the way the user applies the product leads to improvement in the product itself.
  4. Miryokuteki Hinshitsu – The idea that "things should have an aesthetic quality" (for example, a pen will write in a way that is pleasing to the writer).

They are missing the boat on all 4 points, including valuing the opinion of its users, considering it is us users who click on their valuable advertisers links.

A smarter approach would be to poll its users as to desired site changes instead of randomly force feeding BETA testing down our throats when clearly we are here for something other than being their lab rats.

I do have to say, that you have some valid points there, sexypet. However, I will tell you this. My field is advertising and marketing, so I do know a bit about target marketing. You are making some statements about a purely business decision.

The advertisers on this site are here for what we call CPC or Cost Per Click. It is the latest online advertising model. It used to be cost per thousand, but google changed the business model. Now who advertises here? All sex/kink related sites, right? Well, they really do not care very much about the demographics or psychographics of this site, as much as say, a consumer package goods, or consumer healthcare advertiser would.

All the collarme advertisers care about is volume, sheer numbers of click throughs to their sites. That is what they pay for. So if you and I and the many other people here never click through to those ads, the site is not getting paid. So we are back to the essential model of a free site that is almost self supporting with limited revenue streams from these click through ads.

If the day comes that more mainstream or legitimate advertisers come aboard, then in order to pay for larger ads, they will need audience numbers, traffic figures, share of voice, page views, unique hits, etc. Then collarme could ask for more money upfront before a flight runs. Then collarme would be able to provide proof of audience and then they could charge us for using the site. That way, they would have legitimate quantitative data to provide to advertisers because they would require it under that model. Now they don't.

This may not help your frustration with not being heard here, but the grim reality is that given this business model, I am sure whomever runs this site cares only to a small degree about what we like or dislike about the site, contrary to what you think they might care relevant to advertisers.

And again, you have the freedom of choice to utilize the site or not as you do to complain.

I tried to provided a rationale here and no one cares, waaaaaaaaaaa.

I would borrow stef's holiday coded whine, but I think you get the point.  You may have been here longer than me girlie, but with your 169 posts, all of which I am betting are as whiny as what I have consistently seen in the time I HAVE been here, speak for themselves.  All you know about the changes here is how to whine about them.

A new waaaah, if they didn't read the profile before the picture isn't going to make a difference!! So the non readers waste time emailing a dead end.  The couple deletes it and goes on about their day........no biggie.

Who besides me thinks this will decrease the number of profiles actually being read?

This is to all those "oh, don't whine, this is FREE" people.... in one way, yeah, sure it is free. In another, see all those advertisements down the right hand side of the other side? Yeah, that's right. This is free in the same way tv is free (if tv allowed you to also make your own shows for others to watch at will and made money off your ass when you did so.)

Methinks that CM makes a tidy little profit here, and they do so because traffic builds traffic, even if you don't click on an ad yourself, you coming here, or linking here, or telling your friends or whatever, raises the site's profile, and brings more ad dollars. So yeah it's free for you to use, but that's because there is a symbiotic relationship going on here. It's not in CM's interest to piss off the people that come here and post what is actually tons and tons and tons of free content.

That's right. In some ways YOU are WORKING for CM for FREE. So hey, bitch away if you don't like something.

Oh, I wish that were true.  The ad revenue doesn't even cover our colo fees.

Profit.  Hee.  That's a good one.  If we were looking for profit, the site would not be free.

That would be because there is no appropriate forum or email address HERE ON THIS SITE to be heard.  i am certainly not emailing tech support about design changes.  i seek for this site to be user friendly and a fun place to be, without inviting more correspondence from trolls.  These new changes do nothing BUT invite more correspondence from the trolls -- all who remain here BECAUSE it is free.

In the same vain, it seems all you know how to do is be a collarme cheerleader.   So the world is in balance and you should no longer have any issues with my whining.  i choose to post when i have something valid to say, not just because i can.  i also run a visitor services department in a public venue where it is my job to listen to suggestions and complaints, whether the guest paid to be there or not, and consider the validity of this input and implement it when i can.  But the last thing i do is turn a deaf ear because someone is a free visitor.  Open to the public is just that.  Without guests, or members, there is no reason to exist, virtually or not.

If you look further back you will see the whole "click for money" concept.  I personally when I want to go to extremerestraints or somewhere that advertises on this site, I use those links.  Do you? Earlier in this thread the click for money concept was explained to where I think you could understand it and know that noone here is working for CM.  Go ahead, bitch away, noone has to listen.,

Nope, someone said in another thread the amount of $10.99 per month.  That would be over 7 million dollars a month, now that would be some kachink!!!!!!!!!

Yeah that bolded statement is really not so true.   But you know I do that too, I work in a very tough field where I have to deal with probably the most difficult people to get along with as customers.  I tend to expect alot from others in customer service at times because of it, but then I stop myself, grow up and realize taking my job crap out on the world ain't exactly mature. (except when I'm at Wal-Mart...grrrrr)

i don't have job crap, and certainly don't take it out on anyone.  my job is very pleasant.  If you believe in service, that is.

Clearly you missed my point, laurell3.  The point was sthat just because someone is a free guest/member does not mean their feedback is invalid or should not be stated and heard.

No I understood your point a few pages ago....do you understand mine?  You have issues that have nothing to do with this site and you're right, your job and customer service at a bdsm site aren't even close to comparable.

I am a Collarme cheerleader because I know how HARD and continuously other people who volunteer many many hours of their time to help this site.  From the mods on this side, to reviewers and volunteers in other areas on the other side. They truly give a labor of love not only to the site, but to ALL the users.  Does that matter worth a hill of friggin beans to your user experience? Well maybe, but let's say no for argument sake (cept that this thread wouldnt be active on a board because there were no mods to keep it going, or your pics you were bitching about on another thread would never have been approved without volunteers on that side, but never mind, right?)

I am a cheerleader because I have been on paysites, and this one runs faster, smoother and has a lot more to offer in features, forums, and everything else hands down over those that I paid for in the past.  That is why I am a cheerleader.

And, you may run a visitor services venue.  I'm sure that venue does not have 700000 regular visitors, with almost 100-200 new people coming every day to visit in addition. Then you would have to try to do things to please all your visitors not just the handful that bitch on the forums, but the ones that DO write into support praising changes, etc. When you listen to 700000 a day let me know.  Then you are comparing apples to apples.

The LAST thing anyone does here is listen, lol.   If they did, i'd actually appear local to those who ARE actually local to me.

You know, You might actually consider an opinion other than your own.  You might consider how having my photo plastered in places other than what i agreed to when i signed on might invite additional undesireable attention.  These changes affect my quality of life here, part of which is how i choose to spend my free time.  Not every change is a positive one.

Volume does not dictate that a customer should not be heard.  The concept is idiotic.

BTW, i know all about volunteers.  i have coordinated them for over 20 yrs and do in my present job.  It's still isn't a reason to listen with deaf ears.
