*shrug* So far, I haven't found that anything is worth more than a "no thank you." And if someone wants to call my Master names...well... I know how to use the block feature. I mean, it's not like what they're saying is actually impacting his life, my life or our relationship.

No one has outright stated that they were "better" than my Daddy... so I wouldn't know

I don't understand this at all... wouldn't know what? Just to clarify, (perhaps I wasn't clear), "so far, I haven't found anybody's e-mails to me to be caustic enough as to require more than a simple "no thank you. I mean, it's not like what they're saying is impacting his life, my life or our relationship"

I'm not sure where the "better than" idea came from either, but ok. Personally, I've never looked to see who might be "better."

after reading 5 pages of responses i started feeling a little (very little) sorry for myself.  i suppose if one were young, pretty, or conveniently located, they may get emails even if collared.  Once i de-selected anything "seeking" including "friends only" i haven't gotten one single email whatsoever from anyone wanting me.

i can see where it would be annoying, but take it from someone who is old (i prefer "ageless") and at best goofy-looking, it is at least a compliment to be desired even if the desire isn't mutual.

it's not the looks since i'm not as beautiful as Halle Barry or Angela Bassett

it's definitely not the journal entries nor do i have sexually suggesive photos on there

yet Daddy and SO find it rather amusing and entertaining that unattached dominants continue to view me.

They look at your profile because you post a lot on the boards.  It's as simple as that.  Note that, until they look, they don't know how beautiful you are, they don't know about your journal and they don't know if you have sexually suggestive photos so none of those things could possibly put them off looking at your profile, until they've actually looked.

Ah, comedy value - the driving force of my life. And the one that has me look at the inappropriate mails that arrive in my pets' CM inbox and respond with appropriate witticisms.

How did you deal with people like this? Did you direct the mail to your Dominant and let them deal with it? Were you allowed to respond on your own or did they have some say in what you replied back? Did you get nasty, stay polite, block and ignore without a reply?

DV

I hope she'd do nothing and simply let it pass her by: anything else is wasted energy.

Explaining the appropriate response and supervising where/if needed, should help.

I guess I was reading a bunch of posts on this thread and I combined them in my mind when I responded to you... someone mentioned doms stating they were "better" in their emails....

As far as your responses to emails, I agree, that is what you want to respond to the personal correspondence hitting your inbox, and your master agrees with it, that is exactly how you should respond...

I responded to your post at all because in the corner it said "to juliaoceania", but you were probably hitting "fast reply", because nothing in your post is much different from how I handle emails... other than I have a set way I must respond

Edited to add, there is something very squishy and submissive feeling to me that he decides whether or not I get to talk to other dominants... it is one of those things I readily submit control over, possibly because it has that entire feeling of being possessed to it. It is my kink, I enjoy it, and I do not even know why, but for whatever reason I like him controlling that aspect of my internet life... I also get off on being told to "shut up", and he knows that too... I do not know why I like it, but it makes me hot... we all have our quirks

I think this should explain many things that others don't understand. He does it, you like it, you both win. Not just in this scenario. It doesn't matter if it is right or wrong....it is something the 2 of you are happy with. Kudos. Excellent statement.

lol... yup, it's that darn empty box at the end of the page... gets me every time - well, many times.

I just felt an urge to add some of the lyrics to this song... it seemed appropriate (but then it's 2 in the morning and I may be hallucinating)...(from I've Got Better Things to Do by Terri Clark)

I could wash my car in the rain
Change my new guitar strings
Mow the yard just the same
as I did yesterday...

Check the air in my tires
Straighten my stereo wires
Count the stars in the sky
Or just get on with my life

I've got better things to do yeah

If you've deselected everything you won't come up in anyone's search, which is probably why you haven't gotten any of these e-mails.

*smiles*  Exactly!!  And if people sincerely don't want the annoying emails they may wish to consider deselecting all the search criteria.

ghitaPVH -> RE: Poachers... (12/30/2007 1:54:27 PM)

I occasionally get emails from folks who obviously havent read my profile. Generally I ingore them compleatly. Sometimes I respond with a "duh! you dork, learn to read"

The really humorous ones I tell Daddy about so he can get a good laugh too.

I hadnt checked my cmail in about 7 days when I logged on here yesterday after the grandparents FINALLY left from the holidays. I had two different emails from Doms that said basically the same thing "wow, what a great profile, its too bad you are taken, feel free to send me an email if you are ever looking again." I wasnt really sure how to respond to that. I just wrote back and said "uhm, thanks"....didnt really bother me, actually kinda proud of my profile now..heh...anyway....

Except that would mean that no one who was actually looking for anyone would be able to find them. If it's live in a black hole with little to no chance of finding the girl I'm looking for vs. gettings some annoying e-mails that I can get some chuckles out of snarking, I'll go with the former. I think most people who have posted here have a good sense of humor about it but it's like any situation where you are being hit on by what you aren't looking for while you are looking for the right one.

darchChylde -> RE: Poachers... (12/30/2007 5:00:06 PM)

i have pretty much free reign to do as i see fit with email... i tend to respond to the illiterate masses with responses that are exponentially relative to the disrespect Ma'am or i am shown

though no one has yet to be foolish enough to say ill of Ma'am, in that case my first response would be to track their isp, hunt their sorry asses down and enroll them in grammar school... but as this would be alot of work and likely to be fruitless (you can lead a horse to water, but you can't drown them with the neighbors watching)

my general responses are to lay into them and post their email and my response in it's own thread so everybody can point and giggle

my deal is i am prejudiced against the deliberately stupid and intentionally weak, and i am also sadistic (mentally)... so i love these emails and get my jollies from playing with them

edited to add: i love horses and would never actually harm one

i totally agree.  Why take these things so seriously?  i'm not one to snark but i have been amused by some of the emails i've received.  However, i must have misread the OP because i thought it was about people who where not seeking but were getting annoying emails anyway.  Either way.... this is the internet, not a life-altering event.  i prefer not to get easily annoyed at much of anything that is outside my control.
