I suppose that this question is more for the female subs here, but all may feel free to comment.
i have been asked twice in the last few weeks by potential subs/slaves who are looking for ltr or 24/7, whether they will be required to serve while having thier periods. i should say that my slaves always serve nude. my answer to their question was yes, i accept no excuses for not serving me. but unitil now i have never had a slave serve me for longer than a week or so.
so could i have some practical advice? would a tampon be ok or would there be leakage? i have been told they can slip out easily. should i allow the slave to wear knickers while having her periods or give her a holiday? advice please.

You've never had a slave serve you for more than a week? That's kind of odd.

Women cannot wear a tampon for more than 8 hours or they could experience Toxic Shock Syndrome. So...it's really not healthy to sleep with one.

It really just depends on the woman. I would be a little put off by someone who wasn't even understanding of what a hell-ish thing my period is.

Tampons are fine and if changed frequently enough leakage won't be a problem unless she's having a very heavy period in which case it would be better to wear underwear with a pad. I've never had an issue with a tampon slipping out and i am frequently w/o bottoms here at home and i sleep nude, with a tampon. Just try to be understanding of what she is feeling and going through at this time...the emotions are higher and cramping can go right along with it. If You are considerate then there shouldn't be any problems.

Some women cannot use tampons.

Some women would not be able to serve or be naked during their period because it may be to them - a form of humiliation and for some people, humiliation is not what they are about.

Serving during a period for a sub/slave is something that may take time to 'ease' into - but not impossible. But it takes alot of patience and training on the dominants side. If a dominant cannot understand or accept this - just find a submissive who has no problem serving during menstruation.

Periods are complex things - some people have extremely painful periods and this should be considered. Breast tenderness, stomach bloating and pain, joint problems, spasms, as well as emotional shifts need to be taken into consideration.

Like june spoke of - there is tss to consider.

Sexy underwear of your choice might help. Bondage can be an enhancment and assist as well - so she can be naked yet still controlled by you. But it is also helpful to remember that periods are heavier on certain days - some months are lighter than others etc - communication will help to know how her flow is. You could incorperate your control of her tampon/liner changes. And always remembering that their are blood diseases out there...

Personally I would recommend you talk to the sub/slave in question. Work something out between you, something you both can agree on and are comfortable with. Communication is key.

I can't wear tampons. They give me UTI's. When I could, I never had a problem with them coming out, nor leaking. Of course, I didn't wear them at night. That's just a problem waiting to happen.

I am sexual even when on my period. My partner isn't into sex then, but oral isn't a problem.

I don't have any restrictions on my undergarments, so it really isn't a problem. I don't get moody on my period, but I feel generally icky, and since I can't wear tampons, too much movement gets messy. He's understanding, and he doesn't like stained clothes or sheets either.

Depends on how squicky you are on the subject.

Really, it's usually almost nothing, a little bit of blood, not as much in most cases as you can get from a bad hangnail. But I know some people do get squicky about it, and of course you have to be careful with it so you don't stain things.

For women that can use them, tampons should work fine, but as others have noted they aren't for 24/7 use. So I would think, unless you're into caging or something, you would have to compromise that always nude thing a bit, and allow some sort of panties to be worn part of the time.

However there may be much bigger issues than that to worry about. For many women that time is a very tumultous one in terms of hormones, moods, and so forth. For others it's simply a time of horribly painful cramping. Some experience both. Dealing with those issues may be much more difficult than dealing with a few drops of blood.

I would hope that the one I am with would still have a use for my service while my 'monthy visitor' is..well visting, there are many ways in which a lass can still serve, it's really up to the Dom to be creative...maybe He could even find ways to ease her cramps while playing, such as binding her low in the belly, putting pressure there often helps...

..that said like a few others said, keep in mind that not all lasses can wear tampons, so maybe a sexy pair of 'knickers' with a thin panty liner in them could suit you fot a few days out of each month..and some flows are heaveir then others, it can change daily and month to month...

Speaking as someone who turns into a holy terror once a month.. moody in the extreme.. crying at the drop of the hat.. with the kind of cramps that can drive me to my knees in a bad way... I'd say that the answers to your questions depend on the girl.

I don't get a holiday.. ever. Nice thought though :) I do get to sit down or even curl up when I'm feeling bad. If I'm in too much pain and need to take a heavier pain pill then we tend to order dinner or heat something up in the microwave. (pain killers + stove = burning apartment?) I still drag my whiney ass around to fetch things and I tend to curl around his feet for the comfort factor.

As to tampons.. that varies girl to girl as well. Some women just cannot wear them. Either they are much too uncomfortable or they have other medical factors which precludes the option. Also, for someone with irregular periods if they start bleeding heavier then they thought they would leakage can occur. And while you can try to tuck the string in a non visible way sometimes it does slip and.. well.. thats not exactly the sexiest of looks.. lol. My period is the one time of the month Im allowed panties.. its a 'just incase' kinda thing. I also tend to wear a nightgown to bed for those few days as I get cold very very easily once my iron levels start to drop. Its a small concession for him to make.. though I think he made it to avoid my draping my cold as ice body against him at 2am for a heatup.

Medical factors nonwithstanding I suppose the answer would be "Whatever you prefer" keeping in mind that if the girl is way too uncomfortable mentally/emotionally that it could make the emotional problems of having a period a bit worse.

Raphh Periods are definatly more blood than "just a mere hang nail* Periods are the loosing of the lining of a womans woom. The lining and tissue that forms for a wood be fertalized egg sloughs off and exsits through the vagina it's not a nice clean neat experince. a mere lil pantie liner wasn't cutting it. I had to have full out maxi pads ment for heavy cycles with wings to prevent pantie messes. I bled a lot when I got my period, and it was always lots and always messy. It varies for some women, but most are moderate bleeders. There is such a thing a s spotting which is small but spotting is not the same as a full on period. It's usualy in the beginning to the end of the periods.

Pick an older slave who isn't menstrating all that much anymore because she entering menapause.....besides she is often warm (hot flashes) and welcomes no clothing.
Just a thought please pardon the diversion Sir.

Knickers would help and i do believe they even make sanitary pads now for thong underwear! Which would still keep buttocks
exposed. An fairly understanding Master is easier to respect for me. Some months are better than others.

Tampons should be fine as long as they are allowed to change them out regularly- though some women have health problems with using them.

Otherwise, a majority of women are as physically capable of doing things during their period as they are any other time. A few women experience very painful cramps, but that's a minority. Usually people find more difficulty dealing with the hormonal changes that occur.

i serve Master 24/7 nude when He is home, however during my period i am permitted to wear panties as i know it would effect my service in the respect that i would be concious of the tampon, worrying it may slip out or may leak. Master understands that i tend to have heavy periods, so does not deem it necessary to cause any further distress, i would rather be focusing on His needs 100% than focusing on if there is any leakage with tampon or pad

Depends what you mean by "serve" - I'm perfectly capable of doing the things I normally do. Like other posters I'm permitted to wear panties when I'm menstruating. I use tampons with a liner as backup, and they've never "fallen out".

If Master wanted to have sex with me I would be fine with it, but more often than not He prefers me to be available for blowjobs

I'd recommend the tampons during the day, and panties and a pad when their sleeping. If you wanted it to still seem kniky they could wear a pad inside a chastity belt.
There's also some kind of cervical cap she can get from her Dr. that traps the blood so well she could go for a couple of hours without one drop of blood comming out, and her pussy being open for your pleasures.

There's also the moon cup and similar devices. The one problem with those is that you have to be careful of how you move. If you move wrong and dislodge it, it spills blood.

Not a pleasant experience.

ITA. With a heavy period, sometimes a tampon isn't enough to wear walking around, even sitting (unless they lay/sit on a towel in service)

BUT, the great thing is: slaves are versatile and have many fine uses ;)
