Sorry to be a pain in the ass and make people think, but I am quite technically inclined. It is my job and a big part of my life. I know things.

I know technical things, things I have to know for work. I was going to say that how I interpret some things is my business, but in this thread I guess I am making it your business. If you choose.

Years ago I worked with a Man named Jaros Sykla a Polack immigrant. Originally on the H1B visa because of his technical skills, he eventually became a citizen.

Now understand that I am actually even more technically competent than he, but not by a whole hell of alot. But this brings us to the point, the actual reason he came here. The government in Poland was giving him a hard time starting a business. Why ?

Radio Solidarity. This guy is younger, and I would've liked to meet him during the Radio Solidarity days. In some ways he is an asshole, but he has a certain measure of respect for what he did, which is the reason the government of Poland wrapped him up in red tape. His brother, part of the gang also knew alot and I heard he is actually here now as well.

This is strange, I think this guy is an asshole but I have respect for him. I mean he is a Brittany Spears fan. I mean PHAN, the root of the word. He said she is his hero, but with his English I hope he simply chose the wrong word.

In Poland, he built a tramsmitter. He was for solidarity and this was illegal of course, but he did it anyway. He and his cohorts went to the top of a hill and 'spread the words of freedom' so to speak. He was the fastest runner and the builder of the transmitter so he carried that. Another had the batteries, and another the parts of the antenna.

They went up on the hill near town and overrode the audio signal on TV, and did it to the most popular shows, and played a tape with their political message, which was for the solidarity movement. The government did not like this.

Lek Waleska did though, and found Jaros. I'm sure he was glad to meet the leader in person. When they got in the mood, or figured it was a good time to do it, they would head to the hills and transmit. Waleska had a tape for him, but it was too long, Jaros had to turn him down flat. Flat out, if we get caught it is all over, make it shorter. We only get so much time and that is it.

They were triangulating on these merry Men and pretty much had it figured out. So the heat got hot, they had perhaps a minute to get their message out. But Waleska's tape was longer than that.

As it stands, the guy with the batteries got caught, but in Poland it is not illegal to have batteries. They guy with the antenna parts got caught, which were the old stryle vacuum cleaner sections. That is also not illegal in Poland. But they never caught Jaros with the transmitter and he tells me if they had he would have done some serious time in prison.

He did wind up doing about seven months under suspicion, but they had to let him go. Contrary to popular belief in the US, other countries do have courts and must prove their allegations before incarcerating someone. However, like here one can become a target.

He accomplished that in spades. Later he wanted to start a security business, and they fucked him around so much he came here. He told me his first job was window washer. But with his technical training he eventually got out of that. That is how I met him.

As the story of Radio Solidarity unfolded, I realized something.

With cable it is impossible. But then it is possible if you get enough power. If you have enough power at 44Mhz which is the standard IF of a regular TV, you can even override cable, but it takes ALOT of power. I don't know about you but I got 240 volts at 120 amps. That is enough. That is near 30,000 watts, and I would say with that kind of power I can override the sound carrier in perhaps 60% of the TV sets in a radius of perhaps a half mile.

However, with digital, the whole game board is changed. With digital TV you might be able to scramble, block, or otherwise screw up their signal. But you can't get your signal out. The recievers are setup for certain digital CODECs and whatever other protocals. There is no way to break in.

Digital TV achieves perfect control of the flow of information. They say what goes on and what doesn't, and that is that.

That my friends is the real, ugly, disgusting and nasty reason for this change to digital TV.

And they have mandated it. They are very concerned, like a Parent using the V chip. You must not hear any information that they and their cronies have deemed unacceptable. You must hear only what they want you to hear.

And that is that.

Start your shit, that is fine. Call me full of shit if you have the ammo with which to do so. I am fine with that. But the facts which I have stated are indeed facts. Start there.

And if anyone wants to say I am full of shit, go right ahead, but then splain to me why DVDs and DVD players have 'regions'. Don't tell me about the different TV systems all around the world, I already know that. The data on a DVD has nothing to do with that, it is the player's job to put out a signal you can use whether it be NTSC, PAL, SECAM or who knows.

It is only logical that if you buy a DVD player in England it should put out a signal your TV can use. I believe it is called SCART and has a few more things going for it than what we have here, features having to do with menu functions and the on screen display. But that I believe is region two. So I can't send a DVD to someone in England and expect them to be able to play it. It is not a format problem.

With a VCR tape it is a format problem, I know all about it. But a DVD has no TV format, it is computer format. The circuit board in the DVD player makes the proper signal for the TV.

But see now they have regions. This is a hardcoded in the start track of the DVD, that tells the DVD player whether it is allowed to play the DVD disk or not. It has nothing to do with format or language or anything.

Deeper. Media is one of the very few things we export. Our movies are loved around the world and people do buy them in Europe etc. You gotta admit they come out with some really freaky shit. Perhaps that defines our nation now, fantasy. But there is big money involved.

And at this point I wonder if certain movies are edited differently for foreign audiences, for political reasons. This is the kind of control they exercise.

Now people are getting satellite and HD radios, soon they will have total control of the flow of information.

Ever hear of Inslaw ?

There is so much more to this I do not have the time. Nobody does.

But in closing I say this, if you were getting rich exploiting a stupid population, wouldn't you want them to remain stupid ?

Think about it. Think about it when you pop in that next DVD. Or when you turn on the TV.

And go ahead and reearch this. You will find every word I said is true. I know, and I know alot more. I know about the wideband spectogrphic cameras on the satellites that can see each and every hair on your head, and can find one pot plant in a fifty acre cornfield. And I know how it is done.

I have about 42 years of learning to back up what I say. This is not a free country, and I have looked around, there are no free countries anymore,. Iceland might come close. Actually if you choose to define Antarctica as a country it would even come closer.

But we are all serfs, and really it would be better to be a slave.

Terminator.  I emplore you. To never stop. I encourage you.

Here is something you might be proud of me for. A week ago- I reduced my satlite package from 251 channels to 21. Cutting in half my bill. Last month I got rid of my contract cell phone.

Your mind is stimulating.

In my travels- I wanted milk. Ok- Ohio turnpike. Big fancy oasis with food courts and gift shops and trucker lounge. I found NONE.  None in IL, IN, finally in PA I paid what would be over $8 a gallon for a quart.  One could say the spoil rate is fast- but there is more. A row of 20 vending machines- all with colorful and pretty packages. All- stuff that nature prefer we dont eat- at least in bulk.

If you ever feel you cant post freely here, PLEASE; then- lets make a board you CAN post un-mocked.

Keep them coming!

Warm regards- youve got a friend in Pennsylvania; Roger

Oh I believe it Mr. Terminator

Some even believe that 'big brother' will be watching from the inside of the HD tv.  Only way to rid of it, kill the cam chip, thus your tv won't work.  So you are damned if you do, damned if you don't.  Best case scenerio-don't own/watch a tv. Some believe that ipods not only recieve but relay private conversations, keep track of your movements, location, etc etc.

The stated reason for eliminating the broadcast TV is to open up new bandwidth for Cell phone lines.

The Video regions goes back to the TV regions.  Different trading blocks set different standards for the operation of TV sets, for Money and national pride reasons.  That system moved into DVDS as well.  It is about making money.  You can buy a universal player from most major brands if you want, they cost extra.

I don't think Antartica is a very free place, and living there you would be 100% dependant on the outside world.  I don't care what kind of skills you have, if you were dumped on a glacier continent naked with no tools, you would die within a half hour, best case scenario.  OR you would be dependant on a bunch of tools from outside.  There are no trees to make a fire and spear then kill a critter for skins.

that reminds me..

what ever happened to the people in Russia somewhere (on news in early december) who were told by their cult leader to go below ground and their only air vent was a tubular, underground sewage sized thing?? The cult leader did not go down with them (of course), and on the news it showed people dropping breadcrumbs down the vent to the people stuck there??  Why did that news story just disappear? Were they ever rescued??

DVD’s have regions to combat piracy because in the far east you can get DVD’s for £1. Companies like to sell products and they will sell them at the price that suits the market. It just so happens no one in the far east can afford to pay what we do for DVD’s.

What you say about digital has no logic because why does anyone have the right to over ride someone’s broadcast with their message? Besides with the internet do you really have to go to those lengths to get your message out? When people switch to digital the old frequencies will be available for other uses but no one will care as no one will have equipment capable of receiving them. If your message has merit it will be heard even if you whisper it.

Wow.

First of all frequencies that low will not be used for cellphones because of the requisite size for that antennae. Plus the fact that digital transissions use the very same wavelengths.

And DVD regions, I don't know if I could disagree more. All they have to do is charge X amount for the DVD and get rich. Who the hell cares where I play it ? Once the money is paid it is paid.

They just want more and more. That is the reason I got my hands on a copy and a license for XP Pro Corp. This is all happening with software as well.

When I get a newer PC next year I intend to violate every copryright I can. Fuck them. I used to give a shit, but no more. It was bad enough when they pulled everything out of public domain and sold it, where the hell is my check ? I AM part of the public you know.

Fuck them, the horse they rode in on and everything else that lets players take away the fruits of the workers.

But now I think we have arrived at the core of my attitude.

Fuck them, fuck their money, fuck their lawyers. I have a very extensive media collection, at first I only went for oldies, and at one time they were in public domain.

Now as someone who does compose and play music you think I would be on the other side of the fence, but that is not the case. It is time in my life to create, and I have also written a story, one that near qualifies as a book. Thing is, do I do that for money ? No.

These bunch of fuckers who control all this are muthafukers. The actual artists only get a small portion of the revenues, the suits soak up the rest. When you got a record that sells a million copies at near thirty bucks each (and it has been this way for decades), what do you think you get ? That is close to thirty million dollars, you think the artist gets that ? Do you even think they get two bucks a pop, which would be two million dollars. I doubt they even get that.

Going further, which believe me is something I'd rather not do, is inevitable. We live in a society where you get paid more to play than work.

That means yes my opinion is all music and movies should be free. Of course there would be alot less of them, but the ones that still exist would be someone's expression of themself, not a cushy job.

Yes that means I think Joe Satriani should have a real job, as well as Ozzie Osbourne, Richie Blackmoore and many others. Barbara Streisand comes to mind as well. Takes a concert and turns it into her own political conversation, one way of course. She shot herself in the foot so to speak, because people did not pay THOUSANDS of dollars for tickets to hear her bullshit.

But then you all paid zero dollars to hear my bullshit. I hope you feel you are getting your money's worth.

More. Half of these perfomers today should be on welfare, which shouldn't exist. To me entertainment is a personal thing. You do it for your friends and family. You do not get paid. Not in money, but in the smiles and kudos they send. In knowing that you did something good. More importantly having them tell you so, by whatever means. My mind simply does not equate that with money.

But money in and of itself is not the reason for DVD regions nor for the forced switch to digital TV.

They are hell bent on destroying everything that we used to have, everything that made this country great at one time. As such I am their sworn enemy. I will copy and steal as much as I can and I will, have and do give it away for free.

But that doesn't really solve much, the way it should be is that nobody cares. What kind of people need to be shown stories all the time ? Children, spoiled children, that is what most people are. And they are capitalizing on it, literally.

Personally I don't give a shit, throw me in jail. In jail there are no bills.

Whoever thunk this whole bunch of shit up in he first place ? We got people making movies with budgets in the millions so they can have realism. Hint : realism is not reality.

People who think they have a life but really don't will drown themselves in movies and shit. The problem is that outside of the workplace they show no intelligent characteristics at all. I can understand someone wanting to escape reality for a while, but this is ridiculous.

Alot of people have been enslaved by an industry that is run by the greediest, nastiest suits on the planet. On the planet.

You know it. I know it. They know it.

Deeper yet. YOU are a prisoner. The US is a prison. You can go to one of the many commisaries and get beer, food whatever with your scrip, which is not actually money. And don't get caught with any contraband.

You think I am kidding, hand over your passport and then try to leave the country. Your passport is merely your proof of trustee status. Think I am kidding ? Look around.

This is all part of the plan.

These people are afraid that with the advent of the digital signal, they won't have the means of  jamming the airwaves with who really blew up the twin towers on 9/11. Anyone seen public access tv lately? Nutjobs abound there. And you can still use the internet to revel in conspiracy theories if you want to.
Many other places in the world have had this system for years. It is time for us to finally catch up.

haha

The new HD tv's will be called monitors (as computer screens are called) not screens (as tv's are called now).

Will they actually 'monitor' us?  Are the screens our babysitters?

The problem with digital from my perspective is the fact you either get the signal or you don’t. Also added to that is the compression which ensures you are only getting a fraction of the quality you used to with the old signal. I know someone that still uses tape because digital cuts out some higher frequencies. His argument is that although you can’t hear these frequencies anyway you’ll notice the fact they no longer alter the frequencies you can hear. When digital first arrived here people were promoting it as being better picture quality which is true until a bus drives past your house and you end up with a game of Tetris on your screen. HDTV I’ve not bought into yet as for me the cost isn’t worth the extra quality you supposedly get and they have promised before.

I have no issues relating to freedom of speech because anyone can go to the corner of any high street scream at the top of their voice that HDTV is evil and see if anyone cares or stops you from doing so.

Here is something to consider if you like conspiracies. With digital you never see anything live due to the lag of decompressing the signal and translating it. Therefore if a signal is sent to your box to halt the process and this signal is processed before all others are considered, because a signal of this kind takes priority, you’ll miss that which is in the decompression buffer. Mind you having said that do you really think media organisations don’t already incorporate some lag in the broadcast? It’s all about perspective really.

I don’t think digital gives them anymore powers than they already have therefore.

I just want to know ...

so the whole idea is to rid of your old tv for a new HD, OR get the adaptor right??

once the prices come down on HD tv's, won't there be tons n tons of old tv's in landfills?

What is the entire premise of converting to HD again?

I'm slowwwww.  (haven't taken the time to look up much on this subject)

Cable companies were not making enough $ and they needed a new box that they can charge a fortune for.  Then charge more to subscribe to the channels that are HD.  That is the real reason.  I wonder how much its going to cost me when i upgrade to HD later this year for the same channels im getting now.  The box itself is probably $300

Hard to say what to say here, but there is one fact.

With regular analog TV, you can override the TV transmitter signal. Most TV stations are on the order of a few megawatts, but in the tens of kilowatt range you can do this in a limited area.

My point is that with digital TV you cannot do it at all. I mean if you had a bazillion watts you won't even be heard by your next door neighbor. That is the point. Absolute control.

Jaros told me they had to guard the transmitter at all cost, because parts were very hard to come by. Here I can order enough parts to build 100 transmitters easily.

I guess the TV channels are not that good of a picking ground anymore, many people have cable already which makes it alot harder.

So how about the radio ? I know they are coming out with HD radio, and it is pretty much for the same reasons, but not that many people have it right now. How about I build a transmitter and plant it right near one of the most congested freeways in this city ? With hetrodyne technology I could transmit on many frequencies, overriding ALL of the most popular stations. I mean I know what the fuck I am doing, if anyone here understands what hetrodyne means, they know that I can do this.

And since electronic parts and other related equipment is so cheap, I could just put it out there on a timer, set to start at rush hour and run till the batteries die. A simple cassette Walkman would supply the material for up to 45 minutes at least. I would be long gone before they found it, and once it died it would be alot harder to find.

Some of you think I am fucking kidding, but I am not. This country is an seriously bad bad trouble, and the blissful people think the traffic jam is there biggest problem. Wait until I get the circuit board making kit out again. You can kiss your favorite song goodbye when you get to the high level bridge. And they will never ever catch me because I know how to build in a timer or delay, or even remote activation. Sometimes I wonder why I haven't done this already.

But with HD radio, them days are over.

Let me get you straight on this. Using hetrodyne I can obliterate every popular FM radio station in the area. If I had good batteries it would last a while and if I made sure there were no fingerprints on it I would NEVER get caught.

But with HD radio them days are over.

Do you get my drift here ? They are making sure you only hear what they want you to hear, do you fucking get it ?

I know for a fact I can do this, and maybe I should before it is too late. I might. In the spirit of Radio Solidarity I might just make my mark on the world. But they will never know who I am, but so what if the message gets out.

I think alot of people do not realize the power of the media. The FCC has a SWAT team, guns and all kinds of shit. THEY know how important the media is, and alot of people are under that power.

Turn off all your TVs and radios for a day if you doubt it. Try it. Try it.

T
