The best parts of 2007

Waking up next to Himself every day.
Walking my daughter down the aisle at her wedding.
Being told I get to welcome grandchild #4 into the world sometime around the end of July, 2008.
I was blessed to be able to spend time with some amazing friends and a family who just rocks.
Getting our dog, Hobo.
Getting book 7 of the Harry Potter series. :D
Making the final table in an online poker tournament that had 12000 entered. It was both the biggest tournament I ever played in and my best finish for a tournament with over 5,000 players.

The hands down best part of 2007, was my Dad's clean bill of health after his cancer surgery. Looks like I'm going to get to keep the old guy around for a while longer and that thrills me.

Congrads on making a final table..us online players know how difficult that is   .....My best online tourney last year was a 4th that started with over 9000 players....

2007 was a good year for me. The best thing of all was adopting a feral cat, Molly, and her three kittens, Alphie, Emma, and Chloe, thus tripling the local cat population. It was a bit crazy at first, but now, as I walk through the house, there's a healthy and happy cat everywhere I look. Also, I finally broke a very unhealthy habit. Oh...and I quit smoking, too.

On the last night of 2007  I sit looking back and find 2007 has been a fantastic year..to me the best part of 2007 was meeting "my little one "...so I wonder what was the part of 2007 for you.......

I was happy to see 2007 end, there were many challenges to this last year that I am glad are behind me, that being said I did learn a lot about myself this last year.

I learned that I have the power to create my own reality, and that I can find inner peace no matter how challenging that is. I learned to be ultimately responsible for how I feel inside. I learned that loving is never a bad thing or a wrong thing, even when you feel it wasn't returned. I also learned the unexpected joy when you find out that it is returned... and how grateful I am for love in my life.

I told my Daddy yesterday "2007 can kiss my ass" for all the unpleasantness of this last year. We parted ways for a time, he was injured, I lost a beloved aunt.. etc. I also do not want to minimize the lessons learned from this past year. In the coming years I will lose more and more people I adore and love, it comes with the territory of aging, but I can appreciate every moment that I have when things are going my way.... and I learned that in 2007 also.

So the best parts of 2007 set off the bad parts, but I am still happy a fresh year has just begun... and very optimistic about it

The best things were the hardest things. Coming to terms with stuff I'd been struggling with, being able to accept things.Being okay with being divorced and alone yet having my ex as my best friend  . Realising finally that being disabled does not mean I am only a partial person dang it. Finding the balance of being in love with my dom who is married and living across the country from me. Understanding that I will only ever be a part time bit of his life. I'm sure that I will continue to have occasional problems with that but all in all I have begun the process of acceptance. Because of my health I can only be part time to everyone, so I am incredibly lucky to have him. This Feb I will have been collared to him for 8 years, and that is a remarkable thing for a long distance relationship. Understanding that needing to sell my beloved home because I can't manage it does not mean I am a failure. It simply means that I can't do it and need to change where/how I live. Another balance being found, that of doing something physical will result in getting sick so I had to learn what to prioritize without feeling terrible guilt for saying 'no' to things or having to continuiosly cancel out on friends. Above all I finally have discovered that I am okay despite all of the stuff in my life, that things will never ever be totally easy but that it is all okay. That I am okay. That I can lessen up on the harsh standards I set for myself without something 'bad' happening.

I would have to say that moving place that is all my closest buddies are literally walking distance away, best fun i've had in years. It has really brought spontaneity back into an otherwise mandane year for me, with studying subjects that just didn't interest me. Here's hoping for more fun in 2008!

2007 was great for me, especially after 2006 and going through surgery.

I bought a brand new bicycle and fell in love with it, riding the trails.
I bought a newer car, and I love it.
Started a home improvement project.
My eldest graduated from college and is positioning himself for future independence.  YAY!
I obtained a part-time job that dovetails perfectly with my full-time job and has afforded me fun times and new friends.  And distraction from what ails me in life.

The best part of 2007 is that is has ended. It was a very traumatic and sad year and I can only wish and hope for better times in 2008.

I can sincerely empathize with that.

Me too.  2007 was just negative for me.  I can't wait for 2008.  It has to be better if only because it has an eight in it and eights have always been lucky for me.

Nothing bad happened in 2007 for a change. Had some bad years before it, one thing after another, it was about time to have a smooth year, where nothing bad happened beyond my control. I hope 2008 is a great year for everybody on Collarme. Keep your head up and stay positive good things will happen, if you have the faith and wait out the bad times.

I wish I could reply to everyone here personally. Goodness, what a great year 2007 was for some and a horrid one for others. Choose "Wow! Congratulations!" or "Gee, I'm really sorry" for however the year worked out for you.

2007 wasn't overly negative or positive for me. Wonderful things happened, sad things happened, the best thing that happened was getting back to school after 20 years - makes me feel good - and it makes me feel good to know I didn't utterly fall apart from the break from Aba. It feels good to know I am pretty emotionally healthy these days. (note to self: send a thank you card to therapist).

Wishing all a great 2008 - it won't all be pretty but hopefully it won't all be ugly either.
