So you would be willing to get on an airliner if you knew that both the pilot and copilot were going to be passing joints between each other all through the flight? If you aren't willing to do so then just maybe you do see a short term problem and maybe you should reconsider your position.

Did I say unresponsibly? And actually with the way planes are flown since my uncle flies them. Im actually not that worried if it was a long flight :3 And you should reconsider how many pilots fly inebriated with whiskey in thier flasks...Nother thing to think about no?

I never smoke it nor support its legalization. This said, I'm also one who would've supported Prohibition to some degree, nor do I have any love for tabbaco.

These sorts of things, outside of their medical problems, just seem to dull minds.. and I think there's enough studpitiy out there already. (Yeah, I've known pot heads.. it really does dull them, whether it kills brain cells or just from the lack of cognative usage when they're high, I don't know, but they're typically not bright people. The heavier the user, the more they seem to suffer from it.)

I feel the same way about the three. If you want to smoke, drink, or/and get high, that's fine. Just don't drive, don't get medical help related to it unless you're paying the full bill without taking organs from those who need them for more legitimate reasons, and don't vote.

No one who's addicted to intentionally taking something that they know kills their own brain cells should have their decisions on politics effect others.

Dear everyone,

Call this a social experiment so just remember this thread isn't about me but YOUR thoughts on the subject.

Your thoughts on marijuana...be it if you smoke, if you support its legality or of course if you don't.

That being said Im a supporter and have a huge problem that you can drink yourself to death in a night and your perfectly allowed to do so yet if vaporized or eaten there isn't a longterm or short term physical problems with it.

I've smoked pot for 31 years, so obviously I don't have issues with people using it. Nor do I believe it is a gateway drug, I am a teetotaler 100% and do no other drugs. I use it for recreational, sleep and pain management. If I did not smoke weed my prescription morphine dosage would have to be increased substantially. My doctor is fully aware and fully supportive of me smoking pot. His only concern is with possible respitory sp?problems which so far have not shown up aside from bouts of pluerisy.

I think it should be leagle but dont smoke anymore, my job wont let me, I also agree that THC wont hurt you its the rough stuff in the smoke thats not all that great. it would help with the ozone problem because 1 acre of mj is equal to 4 acres of trees, its seeds have more protien than soybeans and the oil has uses I just cant remeber what! Your argument doesn't hold water. Pilots aren't allowed to drink before flying either, so why would they be allowed to smoke or fly under any sort of altering influence, including prescription drug use. A little common sense here, k?

Not really. A pilot who is drinking while flying needs to be grounded and possibly fired.

Greetings..~smiles~

Smoked it a few times long ago..didn't care for it, and never touched it again but am for legalization of it within the same parameters of taxation and control as is present for our other current vices.

Well Wishes

FAA regulations CLEAR STATE that you cannot operate any airborne vehicle under ANY influence of legal or illegal drugs, herbs chemcicls  medicing whatever.

It's never going to be legal for two reasons. It's too easy to grow and the government can't tax it. It's an easy excuse for cops when they need probable cause or reason to hold someone and it inflates their arrest numbers.

Same basically goes for prostitution.

cheers

Am I one of the few who thinks that legalization of mary jane would ruin the stuff?  Here's my hypothetical outcome.  :(

I figure if it is legalized it will be legalized in such a way that only those with licenses will be allowed to grow and sell pot.  The only  people who will be allowed to get those licenses will be large companies, probably the same people who currenly sell cigarettes.  They in turn will bastardize the product, and part of the legislation will probably include how 'potent' it can be so they'll only be selling weak ass pot.

The current existing supply chain for pot will still be illegal (no licenses), though they'll be the only ones with the good pot.  With the revenues the licensed companies seek from selling their product, they'll lobby for stiffer enforcement against the home grow ops (infringing upon their revenue stream) and it will be even worse for them than is it now (have you seen how much influence current tobacco lobbies hold?).  Ugh!

Given the option of legalized and *unregulated* pot I'd endorse that in a second, but damn that whole regulation thing is gonna be a pain.

One of my amusements when I moved back to Canada from California...  I went down to the local head shop and bought some seeds.  Here the seeds aren't illegal, only the plant/leaves.  You're not breaking the law until you actually grow one of the little things.  I sent my buddy in Cali a copy of the seed menu, he laughed.

I'm all about making it legal and taxing it like cigs.

Plus it does have medical benfits - including giving it to women who suffer from eating disorders to help them eat.

As a certified addictions counselor i am frankly shocked at people's points of view regarding marijuana.....Although, like some others have said on here, i suppose You don't realize the negative impact it could have on people's lives until You watch them smoke it down the drain (so to speak)... Before anyone tries to rip into me here, yes, sadly i am aware of how hypocritical it is for the government to continue to allow alcohol to be legal.....*sigh* If only this were a perfect world...and i were God...hmmmm...:P

Honestly I agree with you on this one. Dispite my smoking of the stuff I keep strict attitudes to any actual substance abuse. One of my friends is a seriously bad example of a pot head, refuses to work, lives off the government but thats like with all things it can be done responsibly. I do so. I don't smoke tobacco or drink alcahole becuase of all the bad attached to it not the addiction. But I also try not to smoke the pot I have I usualy bake it into things or vaporize and only as a weekend thing. I think I should look up tue Pot Manifesto.

All things are bad for you in excess even water. Responsibility is intresting. Most people with addictions would have gotten addicted to SOMETHING had they not had the drink, the smoke, or the pot.

Would they??? i'm not so sure...Seriously, if i had not had alcohol to numb out the horrors of my life when i was in elementary school, more than likely i'd be dead, so i'm probably not a real good example in this case..(Damn it!!! :D)
Although i do think with a lot of people if they hadn't  had access to their substance of choice they may have had to actually have faced life, deal with the crap that was going on, move past it....i don't know...just my thoughts....nothing to see here.....

Amen, Amen!
I'd also add there should be a stupid tax:  if you smoke, you've got to get a legit job where you won't harm anyone else and support US!

Marijuana:  you lose 1 IQ point per decade, and you get 400% more emphysema:  damage damage damage.
Occasional use means 3x/year, not 'I wait 'til I'm on the bus'. you can also tell you smokes it more than occasionally:  try it:  ask a 'jeopardy' type question to smarts and stoners:  the stoner will never be first, and will likely answer next week.

And flight attendants have no drug testing:  no wonder they're always so grumpy, they're comin' down!
If it 'has no effect', then I hope the next dentist who operates on you is higher than a kite, man.
