And I thought there might be a decent punchline...........

Like for instance - what is the difference between Clinton and Bush? A) Clinton knows when to withdraw - or something like that.

Anyway, Vietnam is a country in the Far East and Iraq is a country in the Middle East - do I win a prize?

I know the difference...one is a shit hole, the other is a hell hole.  Either way, God bless our troops and bring them home safely. [:)]

I agree!

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 8:43:41 AM)

there is a big difference!  the vietnamese people were not a threat to the US & Isreal!  the US really did try to help the vietnamese people, and our troops did stay way too long!  vietnam was never a war for the US!  vietnam was called "a police action" by the US government & armed forces.  we lost alot of american lives there, but it was not a war!

there are many countries, which includes iraq, in the middle east that are a threat to the US & Isreal.  the muslum people consider americans less than animals and that we must be destroyed mainly because of our support of Isreal.  some of those muslums actually live here on American soil, some are politians, doctors, lawyers, business owners and presidential candidates.

what does our future hold?
Amen

Seriously?  Where did you learn that point of view?

1. The Vietnamese at the time were a surmised threat to America (because of Communism).  It had nothing to do with Israel (note correct spelling).

2. Just because something is not called a war, doesn't mean it wasn't one.  Police action my ass.

3. There are countries not in the Middle East that are a threat.  Try to remember that.

4. It is spelled Muslim.

5. Not all muslim people consider Americans to be less than animals; in fact, most of them don't.  The ones that do are extremists.

6. Please don't post made-up facts.

Thank God for the similarities!  Both countries possess a healthy population of menacing looking brown folks that most Americans find rather pleasing to kill and maim.

no lol.

i don't find it funny that public protests during the Vietnam era compared to the current were more vocal than it is now because of the Patriot Act.

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 6:02:00 PM)

my facts were not made up
vietnam was a war for vietnam...for the US it was a police action.  i was married to a man that went to vietnam.  that is how i know.

my spelling is bad and so are alot of others on this site....so get over it!

Its the american extremists that scare me more than anybody else.

DES MOINES, HUCKABEE HQ, 7:00 pm Central -- If former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee doesn't do as well as he'd like in tonight's Iowa caucuses, it won't be because of lack of praying.
A spontaneous prayer circle broke out in the ballroom at the Des Moines Embassy Suites where Huckabee supporters are congregating to watch the returns come in.
Rebekah Swicegood, a 22-year-old music teacher from Lowell, Arkansas, led the circle with seven friends, pontificating for approximately 20 minutes, beseeching the Lord to provide a victory for Huckabee, a Baptist Minister before entering elected office.
Swicegood said, "we pray that you will lift Mike Huckabee up, Lord" as part of a plan for the U.S. to "return to the God of our Founding Fathers."
This would include ending abortion and ending homosexuality. "When Rome got to the point of accepting sodomy, they fell," Swicegood said.
Weeping at one point, Swicegood also prayed "that we no longer say in the name of tolerance that we accept every wrong religion."
After her prayer was finished, the group broke out into a chorus of "God Bless America."
Swicegood said she was home schooled, which is a constituency Huckabee has courted assiduously.
"Mike Huckabee is a picture of God's last chance for America because we have rejected him," she said. "Mike Huckabee is going to beseech God's mercy on America."
At the time Huckabee and his wife were making their way back from Waterloo, where they were visiting a caucus.

i am not saying that vietnam did not happen.  i am saying that congress never voted vietnam as a true war.  vietnam was a police action because congress & the senate never had a say in it!

i thank you and respect you Bounty Hunter...my uncle and Xhusband(father of my children)served in vietnam.
