my facts were not made up
vietnam was a war for vietnam...for the US it was a police action.  i was married to a man that went to vietnam.  that is how i know.

my spelling is bad and so are alot of others on this site....so get over it!

the extremist u are speaking of do alot of damage....remember 911?

They were made up, and I can prove it.  I can cite my facts...can you?

My stepfather is a Vietnam veteran.  doesn't mean I know dick about what happened over there.  Just becuase you were mnarried to one doesn't give you omnipotent knowledge about it.

Most other people don't incorrectly spell a culture.  You are already insulting the Muslims; the least you could do is not disparage them or disrespect them further by spelling their name wrong.

I dislike the extremists who did 9/11 as much as you do.  but, I don't lump them all into one group just because of their religion.  All Muslims are not bad because some of them decided to attack us.

So...yeah.  You're still wrong.  Get over it.

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 6:55:33 PM)

oh come on!

don't u know that the US president sent the first troops to vietnam....this incident made alot of money for alot of people...that conflict and that is what it was a conflict.  there was not a righteous thing about it except for the men that gave their lives and blood to fight an enemy.  it was wrong to send our beautiful men over there to loose their lives for nothing but money!!!  i watched it on tv and i lived with the men that came home everyday.  there were more protest against the vietnam conflict because not one senator or congressman got a vote!  the vietnam conflict existed and was the result of the US presidents in office during the conflict!  we call it a war because of all the precious lives lost there!

and as for lumping people all in one group.  that is what happened that dreadful day September 11th.....all the people that were injured, maimed & died that day were lumped together as the enemy.

so how can i not feel threatened by the MUSLIM people?  it was a muslim that wrote...the americans are murderers, warmongers and deserve to die.  i am an american that has never harmed a muslim or any other person, but there is a muslim that does not know me but wants me dead.

And I thought there might be a decent punchline...........

The punchline I've heard, which made me chuckle ruefully, was that Bush had a plan for getting out of Vietnam.

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:04:40 PM)

i am not sure what religion Obama is....muslim, christian, jewish or catholic!  i think he has links to all those religions but one, right?

i would like to know what he believes in.  right now no one knows for sure what he or any of the other candidates really stand for.

Well, actually, you called it a police action.  I called it a war.  Try to keep up.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe the Muslims feel the same way about us?  That they feel like perhaps we just want to kill them?

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:20:52 PM)

i said "we" because alot of us refer to it as the "vietnam war" because of all the lives lost there.

if an american flew planes into muslim cities crashing into buildings killing innocent muslims, then yes they would feel like we want them dead.  but i do not recall that happening to them until after our fellow americans were murdered on september 11th.

Right...because America had never made appearances in Muslim countries.

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:28:00 PM)

oh god!  do u know that for sure??

September 11th was so much more than an "appearancehuh?

trappedinamuseum -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:34:02 PM)

Do you know of any other historical events involving America and Middle Eastern countries besides 9/11?  Or, are you just on repeat?

Suleiman -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:34:24 PM)

I always find it amazing that even after the amount of damage done by Timothy McVeigh, right-wing zealots of a christian persuasion have not been colored as enemies to the american people.

trappedinamuseum -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:40:12 PM)

Well...duh Sully...he wasn't a Muslim.  He was an American....

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:41:40 PM)

well to be honest, i was asking you if you knew of any other events involving americans killing innocent muslim citizens before the muslims killed innocent american citizens on 911.  because u brought up that topic first!

i do not recall anything that compares to what happened Sept 11th, do you?  that alone sent a pretty clear message wouldn't you agree?

i mean the bombing of pearl harbour drew the US into world war 2!

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 7:45:02 PM)

u have a point there Suleiman!

he took innocent lives as well!

That's a really sweet thought, but money drew us into WWII.

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 8:11:59 PM)

help!

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 8:15:58 PM)

trapped, u still have not answered my question!

when you said,   "Right...because America had never made appearances in Muslim countries."

please give me some facts here!  tell me what dates and locations these appearances happened?

i would like to know, really i would!

bestbabync -> RE: Does anyone know the difference between Vietnam and Iraq. (1/9/2008 8:21:37 PM)

so the lives lost at pearl harbour had no bearing on the US joining the allies in ww2?

if the US joined ww2 for the money, then why did they not join it sooner so they could have made money sooner instead of allowing americans to suffer the after effects of the depression era?  it would have been cool had they joined ww2 sooner and ended that suffering sooner!

Well....let's see.  Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan,..that little thing called the Persian Gulf war.

Do you really think innocent Muslims weren't killed by Americans?

Man..you know...you're right.  The President declared war just to right the wrong of Pearl Harbor.  There was no other unaltruistic reason like money or anti-fascism.  You must be right.  It was an act purely out of the goodness of his heart.    Get real.

I am through arguing with you.  Obviously you have no bearing on historical events.  Read a book, then come back at me with your nationalism crap.
