Treat it however you want.  Like any gathering, do what fits you best.  Some people go for almost 'wedding' type scenarios, some are like eloping.

I'm curious (you can tell I'm very new at this).

Is there such a thing as a collaring ceremony? Is it something where there are "witnesses" and "vows"?

It can be anything you want ... from very simple and private to as elaborate as a formal wedding .. it is all up to you .. make it your own .......its your time to make it as memorable and as special as you want.  There are no rules nor is there a right or wrong way.   Have fun and enjoy.

greeting

Collar Cermonies can be just about anything the two want.  It can be witnessed.  As to vows there is something like it.

Subbie yes there is. As Darcy put it whatever floats your boat. I have been both to simple ones and wedding like ones.

shrugs, some people like them, some people find them useless...never really seen one twue way to have one, or anything that says you absolutly have to have one. Do what you want. invite who you want. say what you want. eat what you want. enjoy it, have fun. If your rather not invite anyone or do anything or eat anything then dont. it wont matter. you arent collared more or better just ebcause you had some intricate collaring ceremony performed just so.

Heres my collaring ceremony. Daddy and I looked online and ordered the one we want. It came in a box. He opened the box and took out the parts. put it on my neck and told me to go finish dinner cause the UMs were hungry.

Some people call them collerings, some call them unions, some just have commitment ceremonies outside wiitwd.  It's all the same thing, just with different words and cool if you don't want to get married in an offical sense but want to share your relationship commitments with friends.  I went to one that was just a dinner of about 10 people, a bit formal and we all dressed up in dresses and suits and had good wine and food and they shared their news.  It was lovely and personal.  I don't think of them as 'have tos' it can just be like a standard engagement party.
Do what works for you.

It can be anything you want it to be. Just like a wedding it can be large or small, private or public. It's what the two of you decide it to be. Some have a close friend officate. Some stand in their bedroom and read vows to each other. There's a million different ways. try to google collaring eremonies. Make sure that your safe searth is off. You will find some great and enjoyable readings.

i was new to real time just a short while ago. This forum is filled with extremely knowledgeable and friendly people who love to help and answer any questions that you nay have. So welcome!

there's no twue, absolute way or protocol for collaring ceremonies - however you and yours plan it, go for it.

mine with Daddy a year ago was private.

this year when i receive my SO's collar it will be private as well

Depends on the couple. For some it is their "wedding". Or others it is simple ceremony. For us, it will probably come shortly before or after a marriage and will be something small with close friends. There will probably be socializing and a meal afterward, but in our own home and not really I would consider a reception.

Yes, on page 432 of the lifestyle handbook there is an entire section on collaring ceremonies and receptions. It contingent on the season. Watercress and cucumber sandwiches are fine for a summer ceremony; however serving them in December would be a faux pas similar to wearing Ugg boots in LA with your short skirt after Easter - Its just NOT done!

If you don't have one; 'One True Way' handbooks are available on Ebay from the NSI (Nigerian Slave Institute). Click on their ad next time you are sending one of the expatriate finance ministers your Banking information.

Gee, he just gave it to me and we ate whatever I had cooked for dinner. If I was doing it over, I'd have wanted mini quiches and champagne cocktails. Sigh!

~FR~

Himself and I had a public ceremony with a play party reception. Instead of everyone kissing me on the cheek, I bent over the horse we got as a gift (a pic is in my profile) and everyone at the party gave me a swat on each cheek and I'm not talking face cheeks.

Since it was a play party reception, we had food appropriate for a play party. Proteins, chocolate, lots of bottled water, fruits and other things to hydrate and replenish electrolytes and, a staple at every party we ever hosted or attended while in Utah, chocolate covered coffee beans!

Go whole hog or make it intimate and personal or anything in between. The choice is up to you and yours. We did it our way, video taped and everything and it was amazing.

Celeste
