do any of you know of a submissive who turned over all her/his financial rights over to their Dominant and the Dominant either took off with it or left that sub in financial ruin?

Sure.

That doesn't mean the act in itself is/was bad or wrong.

Shall we stop allowing bondage because some young girls get nerve damage from it when they play with ill educated tops?

I actually know more "vanilla" divorce situations in which people lost everything, than D/s situations.

No. But I know people it's happened to in completely vanilla relationships.

I could also point out that leaving someone financially ruined at age under 25 really isn't usually that bad- most of us barely have anything solid and secure before that age anyway.

Me too, but if i posted about vanilla relationships only. i could not post on this board. According to the rules it has to be about D/s to post my thread on here.

Either way it's fine with me. No matter what type of relationship that you have it's not a good thing to be left penniless.

Don't know any D/s or M/s relationships where this has happened, but I do know a few mainstream people (male and female) who have had financial difficulties at the end of the relationship.

That's another great point.  I know of four women in their 40s (I am one of them) who was left financially ruined after awful "vanilla" divorces.

We are all coming back, stronger than ever.

It's what you do with your situation that makes all the difference.  Living in fear is an option, but not an option for me.

*looks at her savings account* Yeah... I'd like to deny that but I really can't.

I think the point here is that more of us know of NON D/s financial ruins than D/s financial ruins.  While a valid concern, losing one's money in a D/s relationship may not be as prevalent as some may think.  There are a lot of criticisms on these boards toward those who are financially dominated, and I think those of us in this thread are trying to point out that they are unfounded, for the most part.

i am only refering to people who are in financial ruin due to dishonesty by the Dominant or S/O Not from a divorce.

So it is wise after knowing a Dominant for a week or two to turn everythng over to them? That's the question i was asking on another thread. i wasn't in the least refering to people who have long lasting relationships except how i feel about myself doing it.

Yes, I know of several kajira that were financially ruined by Gorean Predator "Masters". It does happen, which is why I always counsel these women to protect themselves.

I know of a kajira who was left in a hotel room after he flew back to live with his parents, leaving her with practically nothing except the clothes on her back. He wiped out their savings, lost their apt, cell phones and their belongings. She had to be rescued by a shelter.

In an ideal world, slaves would never be left to fend for themselves but that's not the way it really is.

Be well and Blessings,

No, I would not say it is wise within a week of knowing someone to hand everything over. However, I also don't believe it is wise to give oneself to a Master as his property until one truly knows him and how he will be as an Owner. But your OP did not ask about "within a week".  You are changing the parameters for your inquiry.

Why didn't you say that in your OP then? If you hand your money over to someone after only knowing them a week, it's your own damn fault if you get taken, BDSM or vanilla.

Nope but I know several divorced women that were left in financial ruin after their vanilla marriages ended.

No, but a female sub friend of mine just yesterday told me about a Dominant who allowed his submissive access to his bank account, credit cards, etc -- and she took off with the loot. Guess it goes both ways.

Just like EVERY other social and economic circle out there... there are the good, and the bad, and just because someone calls themselves a Dom or a Master does NOT mean they are responsible, or even honest LOL. I know of tons of submissives who gave over their financial future to someone they should have never even trusted in the first place, and got taken for every penny they had.

Its happened to Dominants too LOL, Hell I could tell you of a bunch of submissives with sob stories of how their lives are in ruins, and the well meaning Dominant comes along to try to "rescue" her and offer her money to get out of whatever trouble they are in, only to find that they have been duped by the girl, when they never hear from the person again.

LOL... There are suckers born every single second.
