Interesting. Your coworker's marriage is failing due to a crappy sex life, so you try to push the single most sex negative religion in the existence of mankind on him as a solution? How fucked up is that?

Can't everyone see how firmly the OP's tongue is planted in his cheek?  He's not a Christian.  This is his idea of a joke about Christians.  If not, I'm really misunderstanding.  I think Level picked up on it too..............luci

You're being serious, aren't you?  That makes me sad for you.  I'll tell you what, you pray for my soul, and I'll pray that your god opens your mind a little.

Such hilarious mockery!  So original.  I think it's been at least a week since the last "Mock Christianity" thread.  Yawn

I suspect CuriousLord will be around shortly for this one, among others.
And if the OP is sincere, I won't even complain about it, for once.

Yeah, quite possibly so. And not the first time Tre'swank had done so, if memory serves.
Funny thing is, if it had been about being Jewish, black, gay, into BDSM, or anything else popular, he'd be gone by now.

Because they weren't ever really sheep at all, Kran.  They were free-thinking creatures, and Buddism and Paganism (much bigger and more diverse than merely the Goddess varieties) represent paradigms not based in the Obedience to the One True God represented by your Monotheism.

I can appreciate your intentions, believing that a more spiritual path would help him, but if he has left your church, I promise you that people who know him a lot better than you do have already tried ramming same the old crap back down his throat.

If you want to get him back into the church, hook him up with one of those horny, middle aged Baptist women.

You mean there are nutritive cock and cunt flicks?

Now there's the diet for me.

Something moves me about Parker's  failures.........the fact that his God-given marital union has succumbed to coldness, frigidity, and an obsession with non-nutritive cock and cunt flicks.

This is a strange posting. I thought it was some quote froma newspiece to begin with with its wording. Very journalisitc. But then it gets well, kinky. I guess I thought the guy was being recomended to this site since his wife was sooo domineering. I mean really, wasnt that the perfect thing to tell the guy at that moment. Sounds like the way to go to spice things up for him.

But no, that didnt seem to happen. What happened instead was you got into your own imagination in a way I thought said a lot about you. WTF? Parker is a fourth generation Mick? Now theres a nice derogatory sentance if ever i read one. This then leads you to the imgainary , "I see the whole pathetic tableau in my mind's eye: a balding, pasty-fleshed "Parker", frantically jerking off to thirty second porno clips -- pulling and puffing-- until a couplemeager droplets of cum dribble down the side of his half-erection."

For one thing, porn clips last longer than 30 seconds for sure. Sometimes they even seem to go on and on! lol Why even imagine this scenario? But it does seem to appeal to you, since you see it all the way thru.

I ask you this, what on earth makes you think that his marriage is a  "god-given marital union" And why do you presume its obsessed frigid and cold? Just how much do you know about this man? Not much I bet.

If youre so intereted, why then wouldnt you offer to counsel his poor wife? And if you asked lots of men, they'd tell you porn is food for thought, not "non nutritive". Porn feeds multitudes on any given day.

I guess you were thinking of sex or something when you mentioned embracing the Lord and savior. But what pray tell, does that have to do with whats going on in this mans life?

Im sorry youre so bigoted in your thinking. I dont know where that comes from. Nor do I see where this mans sex life has anything to do with 30 minutes worth of being bi-polar. So before you cast the first stone at your co-worker, better get your own house in order. You may see him as a lost sheep, but when I see you, I see a sheep whos simply following a  trail with her head down.  Maybe its time for you to stop and look up. You may find that your co-worker isnt lost in the meadow. You may find that youre the one whos lost the way.

Half baked Goddess? As opposed to a jewish carpenter that supposedly walked on water? I'll take the Goddess at least she loves all her children and not SOME of them.

Remember you are only getting Parkers side of this thing.  Maybe his wife doesn't want to have sex with him because he's a lousy lay.   Maybe she is sick of his addiction to porn and his wanting to force it on her.

My guess would be that Parker is just as happy she is frigid so he has an excuse to have his little porn collection.   Sooner or later, if it hasn't happened already, that same thing will give him an excuse to have an affair.

The next thing is...why the flock is he talking to people at the office about his sex life?  What business is it of theirs?  Why does he feel compelled to make it their business?

I believe that alot of Americans aren't receptive to Christianity, because any religion that stresses more than a modicum of self-control gives folks the shivers.  People who are used to cable television, wireless internet, and fast food absolutely shudder at the fact that everything they desire might not be conducive to spiritual grown; thus, individuals shop around for a religion that doesn't make them give up too many things that they enjoy or put any amount of stress on their tortured souls.  "Well I enjoy doing so and so............so that means it must be good!"  Some don't agree with that attitude.

I do respect that you unapologetically made your opinion known, and that does take courage in today's watered down age.

True. If memory serves, one of the things that helped Cortes conquer Mexico was that other tribes sided with him, figuring the Spaniards couldn't possibly be worse than the Aztec.

I wonder why it is that the lost sheep always move towards Buddhism, or some half-baked "Goddess" paganism.  Somewhere, along the road, Christianity become the uncool kid among "world religions".

i know some buddists, related to some actually, and many many pagans, and was fostered by christians.
i can tell you exactly how christianity became the uncool kid, i can also tell you about the love of god. how the father loved all the children in his house, and even tried to love me.

id rather chill with buddah or dance with the Goddess any day

as for Native Americans, we didnt really need the things the whites had because we lived with the Earth, as opposed to trying to take it over. Damn Pagans the lot of us

I don't know if the OP was serious or not, but as a Christian I have to weigh in on this.

One cannot "lead" another person to Christ or any other god-figure. That which one believes is personal and private to a person. If I feel that the way of Christ is the best way to live, then I had best live it. If the way I live my life resonates with someone AND THEY ASK ME what I have that makes me happy, I will tell them how it works with me. It is then their decision to ask more or to say, "That's nice; thanks for telling me."

And it's not only un-cool to bring religion up at work, it is actually against policy in many companies. It could be considered "discriminatory harrassment."

The OP can pray for Parker, if he so wishes, but I would suggest that if he wants to give Parker advice, it would be along the lines of, "See if the company has an Employee Assistance Program, and take yourself and your wife to a marriage counsellor."
