What if there was a bible - not your average Bible but the "end all be all" bible for the kink lifestyle in which all the "experts" co-authored together - would you adhere to it?

Think about it for a minute.

This bible would explain exactly everything from A to Z about BDSM rom the correct definition between submissive and slave to defining what is a proper BDSM relationship, This book would have no special exceptions for special cases ...everyone around the world would have to obey it - no matter what.  Also it would cease and desist arguments on the forums because the "experts" have finally agreed upon what is the correct and twue way for you and yours.

Now, would you give up your own personal ideology/beliefs/etc to follow a book that doesn't truly define who you are in this kink lifestyle and/or relationship?

Please discuss - will read and comment in the morning

Would I give up who I am and what makes me unique to be like others?  Aren't there a number of bad scifi movies based on this concept?  Hell no, not a chance.

No.

I'm going to think what I'm going to think, do what I'm going to do. Doesn't mean I don't respect the "experts", but then again, I'm the only expert "me" there is.

No.  I adhere to the rules that my Master has set, personalizing my service to suit his needs, not what a book has decided for us.  And I've already given up my personal ideology for someone before.  It left me nearly ruined...I'll pass.

yes there are a movies based on this concept to make people think and ponder such consequences of our actions.

why not here?

i mean we do have a few "absolutists" spouting their one-twuism here ...so why not give them a chance to finally end disputes once and for all about the kink lifestyle though it would probably take them years to agree.

to the others - thank you for replying

What room for evolution and new ideas and approaches would there be if such a bible existed?

there would be none - this would be an "absolutist" creed for the kink lifestyle.  everything defined as such and deemed by the "experts". new ideas and/or approaches would probably be argued, tested, approved and/or denied ...it is really up to them to update.

I ask because I tend to avoid elitist groups that try to define how the rest of us should be living and what rules we should be adhering to.

I'm with you, Sambamanslilgirl. I would be interested in seeing what these experts have to say about this. Isn't it interesting that you give them a thread that is right up their knowledgeable asses and they do not come to post their wide array of wisdom experience.

As for the question. I agree with Full Circle, I am not one to dance to another's tune. I prefer to make my own music instead.

The path you take through life is your own and the people you decide to listen to is your choice. The only thing people here know is what works for them and the people they know. Show me this single 'lifestyle' because to me it doesn't exist.

You know all of that already though. I think the more people debate things the more certain they become of what they believe and so may take on an air of the elites and arrogance it doesn't mean they are the ones with the right answer. Is there even an answer anyway?

there's never an absolute right answer however try telling that to an elitist around here. it's their twuism way and nothing else ...they shun something that is completely unique and different refusing to comprehend not everyone follows the tune to their chest-thumping beat. free thinkers like myself are never invited to the dance.

thank you, MistressofGa.  yes it's quite interesting i give them a thread to "expertly" impress everyone with their twuism ideology and not one of them has replied as of yet.

One word:  No.

I have my own personal kinks, I have my own personal likes and dislikes, and I have my own personality.  I found a domme who shares virtually all my kinks, loves my warped and twisted personality, and is OK with me having my own likes and dislikes.  She has Her own personal choices including how She is going to train me to best suit Her and no one else but Her.  Who is to say what is absolutely correct or what MUST be done in a proper D/s relationship?  This loving and devoted rebelious subby says, "No one in my book."

If there was such a book, would I use it for new ideas or different points of view for reference?  Absolutely because you are always learning new stuff in this life.  Would I adhere to it because it was the ONLY true way to live?  Not a chance.  There is too much individualism in this world to adhere to only one line of thinking.

I would have to say no. I think one of the best things about D/s BDSM relationships is the diversity we can all set our own rules and boundaries and no two relationships are exactly alike, they may resemble one another but there are distinct differences........ And in all honesty I suppose this really applies to all relationships but since we were discussing the D/s ones that is where I aimed..... We all have our own kinks and fetishes etc, and a BDSM Bible would be a bit too absolute and would leave no room for change or bend.  I am no expert so please, just know this is only my opinion......

Plain and simple>No I wouldn't. I'd be more apt to read the book, before determining if anything is applicable to me. I take what I believe will help me as a person and discard the rest and letting it drift away like dust.
There is no way I would be able to discard my own personal ideology/beliefs/etc to follow a book. My beliefs, I formed and defined over the years to a belief which is right for me and me only. There is enough of a rebel in me to want to challenge another's one wayism, showing them it is not a crime to think outside the box.

damn - still waiting for the one particular "yes" man/woman on this thread however it's great to see that individualism hasn't been lost in the shuffle within the twuism ideology.

i agree 100%

if a man can have two separate relationships with 2 wives then why can't a woman have 2 separate relationships with 2 husbands? is it considered taboo because it's not seen as a twue for BDSM?  just something Daddy tossed at me from last night after reading the forum.

I am changing my answer!!!! Yes I most certainly would follow the ONE TRUE WAY I mean honestly there is no other and anyone who does not follow the ONE TRUE WAY must have some sort of intervention and be brainwashed, erm, Uhhhhh I mean taught the proper way of thinking so that they may be following appropriate practices..! Join the cult, I mean ummmm, oh shit, Follow the ONE TRUE WAY! (we will be walking right off the cliff at 5pm I expect all of you twue followers to be there)
