ORIGINAL: bipolarber Why the "Andromeda Strain?" Well, it's because the movie is actually about the scientific method. As such, it's what I consider a science fiction film. They find an alien life form, the isolate it, and begin to systematically examine it. The theme of the film could probably be said to be: "The best laid plans..." I love Bradbury as much as anyone. (The guy is from near my hometown in Illinois) And I've met Mr. Bradbury a couple of times. But I still think his brand of fiction is soft science fiction, while Andromeda Strain is an example of HARD science fiction. Hmmm. Ok. I have always seen Andromeda Strain; kind of opposite of how you do. More of a...I guess a thriller is how I would probably classify it...a thriller with science fiction thrown in.
