MzMia -> State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 6:38:28 PM)

Okay, I must be getting old....

I am watching the State of the Union Address.

I will make comments at the end, feel free to let me know about what you think
of the State of the Union Address.

slaveboyforyou -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 6:40:48 PM)

I am not watching it.  It's the same ol' shit as last year.  I will read the highlights online and in the papers later on.  I just don't care what he has to say anymore, and that is sad when you feel that way about your President.

CrimsonMoan -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 6:41:46 PM)

No cable so no watching, not that I would anyways unless I was bored...which I am

MzMia -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 6:43:07 PM)

I am mainly half listening to it, I am almost always multi-tasking.

I am hardly sitting here like I am at the movies...lol.

I am typing on here, eating my dinner and soon will be ironing.

It does sound a lot like last year, maybe it is a tape and he is pretending it is live.

TheHeretic -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 6:50:28 PM)

I just can't bring myself to care.  Watching/listening to this President speak isn't exactly a treat either.  He simply isn't an orator, and the final year plans will get plenty of coverage on the news sites in the morning.

Even the prospect of watching Hillary's reactions can't spark my interest.

Oh, I am listening cause I rarely can stand the morning news nor do I want to read this.
He is talking strongly on Iran, and I want to know or have an idea what the hell is going
on.

girlygurl -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 6:56:59 PM)

I tried to listen, but everytime I hear that mans voice I cringe..... I just can't get past his stupidity to actually listen to the mush coming from his mouth.

Who is doing the rebuttal for the Dems?

youngsubgeoff -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:01:21 PM)

god... he is so full of shit. Am I the only one that can see what a liar he is?

lockmeupplease -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:01:42 PM)

I always laugh when the Congress gets up and cheers every 2 minutes and clap like a bunch of trained seals at the aquarium.

I certainly don't expect him to say anything we haven't heard already.

popeye1250 -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:02:15 PM)

It was very telling when Knucklehead said he wants to make the tax cuts permanent. All the Republicans stood up and clapped while the Democrats just sat there like Cheshire cats with embarrassed grins on their faces! lol
Democrats think all that *Taxpayer money* should be in the hands of the government instead evidently.

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius.

MzMia -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:04:47 PM)

I really did not get much out of this.

Maybe I was not listening hard enough.

liketophoto -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:08:24 PM)

I can't even listen to Him.

You're not the only one.
Evidently he thinks he's the "President of the World" instead of President of the United States with all that B.S. about "the sudan" and Palistinians.
Oh, and 7 years after 9/11 and NOW he wants to secure our borders?
And like I said before, this fuckin' guy just doesn't listen, more than 90% of Americans want our immigration laws enforced and we've overwhelmed the senate with calls, letters, e-mails, and faxes against any type of amnesty he's still not listening.
He said at the beginning of his speech that "we're here to do the People's Work."
Then he ignores The People!
He's a shitheel!
That's why Obama will lose if he's nominated.
You can't go against 90% of the American People and try to push "amnesty" for illegal aliens and expect to win.
And if Hillary is nominated she'll lose for the same reason.

Muttling -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:12:50 PM)

I typically listen to them, but to hear anything new this go around with the possible exception of recession response.  I'll get the highlights from cnn.com tomorrow.

MzMia -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:16:28 PM)

Popeye? Bush is very happy with illegal immigration.

I think Bush is softer on illegal immigration than Obama or Hilliary.

Bush===Big Business Only

Popeye he isn't going to do anything much but ride out the next
11 months.

popeye1250 -> RE: State of the Union Address (1/28/2008 7:22:07 PM)

Mia, both Obama and Clinton voted for that Kennedy/ McCain/Bush amnesty.
How can Independants like me vote for them?
Enforcing our laws is not an "option" for people in elected office!
And Bush hopefully will "go quietly" into retirement.

The problem with the tax cuts Bush wants to make is they benefit the same big corporations that outsource jobs to foreign countries. Hard to say why the democrats just sat there grinning, but I do know privatization doesn't help the American people, it helps big corporations. If our government was anything like it is in Canada, I'd be glad to give them my tax dollars. The way it is now, Americans get screwed either way.

You hit the nail on the head.
Most of them are all the same these days, that is why I am an Independent Moderate.

Bush Obama, Clinton.....does not make much difference.
IF the Democrats dare think they can raise taxes?
Or IF anyone dares to raise taxes, I think people will riot.

The Middle Class and Lower Middle Class has been sold out down the damn river.

Did he mention we are smack dab in a recession?????
