Actually, God destroyed the world before the great flood. Genesis 1:28 "Go forth and multiply and replenish the earth." You don't replenish something that hasn't been filled before.

That little bit of scripture has always intrigued me.

Sorry - hijacking thread here - (sorry everyone)
In what way does it intrigue, Gauge?

Simple really, it is overlooked for its significance. Recent studies have found that the King James translation of the bible is the closest to the original text and therefore the word replenish was deliberate not a mistake. What was here before Adam and Eve? Dinosaurs? Is that what God wiped out? Many questions that don't have answers, merely speculation. And to me at least, it is fascinating how many Christians I have pointed that out to never noticed it before.

KC692, I'm looking for the verse as we speak.
I believe that You are interpeting the Bible in Your own
way? Catholics do that, I use to be one.

As an ex catholic I take exception to that, lets talk about the so called born again you have in your country. They care for nothing but money and power and interpret the bible how it will fit thier agenda.
Why did I quit being a catholic, because I quit being a christian. I grew up and realized what a load of bull shit it all was.

Dear Kev and Greetings

As you take offense to a person making unsubstantiated attacks on catholics, so can a christian for your generalisation on whats bullshit. It may be bullshit for you - but it isnt bullshit for everyone. I am one person who doesnt find God or christianity bullshit. To me, it's an important part of who I am and without it, I would probably be a slightly different person. Be that a good or bad thing...[;)]
Some people cannot see past their own blindness. Some people do not take the time to discover what things are truely about and its the not knowing them fully that leads them to make sweeping statements, like the one done about the catholic belief.

In the 'outside world' some people see all BDSMers as abusers and sick individuals. But we know for a fact that it isnt true. Sure there are some less than agreeable people out there masqurading under the BDSM symbol, but doesnt make them right or the rest of us part of the problem as well.

Not all people who are 'born again', who believe in God, are uncaring of humanity. I hope that the minority whom taint peoples views and instill hate and lies, do not do so for all christian around the world.

Some are quite pleasent - and I pray that the blindness of one does not blind others, like yourself, to others as well.

I hope that this thread doesnt degenerate into flames and anti-religion rants. Everyone has an opinion, and many people use the bible and other religious texts to justify their actions. It will always happen. But just because it happens, doesnt mean that everyone does, nor that they were correct.

Peace and Much Love to You and Yours.

Well, yeah, and then just after that the Genesis starts all over again in Gen. 2:4. Funny isn't it ? Chapter 1 was just a draft that didn't work. I wonder if it's working now, though.

One would hope that it is working at least to some degree anyway otherwise Angelina Jolie is going to sleep with me. I am not sure what that means but as I write this it makes sense to me. Perhaps I need more medication.

I respect your right to believe how you want to. I just want to point out that one mans bullshit is another mans faith. Tread lightly.

junecleaver -> RE: Wrath of God??? (9/6/2005 6:36:49 PM)

I'm sorry and I honestly don't want to be rude to you or flame you. But several of your statements are just biblically unsound.

quote:

Do like what was done to "Job" in the Bible?

Job was -flawless-. He was someone everyone looked up to. He wasn't be punished. Read the book, it's the reoccuring theme. His friends accuse him and he defends himself most of the book.

quote:

What evil Tirant has ever congured the World?

Evil has a broad definition depending on your definition. The Roman or Greek empires could be considered evil. Chinese dynasties could be considered evil. They participated in things frowned upon now. Were they evil? Well, that's something you have to define for yourself.

quote:

I believe some Countries are blessed more then others.
Because of how they have reacted to Gods Word.

Israel will always be the Promised Land.
Again in accordinance to the Bible.

I believe this in that the US has always supported the Jewish Nation. The Bible mentions blessing those who support Israel. If someone -wants- me to find the reference, I'll go to the trouble....but until then...

quote:

I know as Christians, we have to suffer in some way
shape or form, to test our Faith.

Hum. That's not really a Biblical concept. We don't HAVE to suffer, some do, some don't. But the testing of your faith produces endurance. I've been through a lot of shit. My friend Madison has an almost perfect life. We're both Christians and we both have different, useful things to add into our religion and community.

quote:

Maybe someday we will learn from our Mistakes?

You make it sound like God 'sent' Katrina to punish people. I don't buy this. If God created the universe, he did so with -order-. The weather has patterns and works in a certain way we can predict. Hurricanes are part of this natural process, not some judgment of God that comes during a certain season. Saying that just sounds....so ignorant to me.

Kc692[:)]

As promised those verses.

Genesis: Chapter 6 God was angry with the Sin
of the Earth.
This is why he Destroyed it, with the Flood.

Genesis: Chapter 9 Talks about God saying that
he would never flood the earth again.

I have asked about that verse, and was told that God was sorry
for what had to be done.

Was Sent this Today~

Chuck Peirce spoke this on Aug,29 2004.

When Pastor Guy read this to us last night I had chills that this was so direct.

After Chuck discussed traveling from Wisconsin directly to Louisiana, he prophesied:

"From the North to the South I am ready to awaken two winds that will awake the nation. There are resisting forces in both states that will cause our nation to not move forward. Go up and down and decree the wind of God will awaken in both places. The states will shift in a new way or the nation will not shift and will go backwards."

Later when addressing the Saul structure in Baton Rouge, Chuck prophesied:

"How the Saul structure collapses will bring Baton Rouge again to national attention. That alignment within it will collapse. A new demonstration with a new blueprint will be seen. This will be known as a meeting house. This will be known as a place where the Ark of the Covenant has dwelt. This will be known as a refuge place. The WIND and WATER will rise in the midst of New Orleans. Many from the south will come north for refuge. Prepare. Prepare now for winds and water that will surprise you. I will renew the pattern not fully seen before. Worship will be here, and birthed in a new way from here. Prepare! Prepare! Prepare! Shift! Saul will be no more. David will arise from this day forward. The wind from the south will begin to blow. Watch for the effects. This will purify the land and bring great change."

Then in Alexandria that night Chuck shared from Song of Solomon 4:16 (Awake the north wind; come, o south wind. Blow upon the garden of this nation). He led the people to pray for the south wind to come. This south wind would be a purifying wind, cause corruption to be blown on and cause corruption to shake and initiate a righteous move starting with the children, then moving to the youth. We were to watch the government and the Catholic Church shake, and watch New Orleans change.

Then Chuck prophesied, "I will put a mantle on African Americans in this land. That which was brought in through parts of this state and held people captive will let go. I will send the wind up the Mississippi River and this wind will shake Missouri. You will see the land shake in Missouri because of the wind from Louisiana. Get ready. Don't brace yourself. Throw yourself up. Get ready for the new is coming. Every place I blow on will shake. The wind is coming on Louisiana and it will shake the entire state. I will fill churches. The south purifying wind of My holiness will sweep across Louisiana. People will be on their faces in malls and shopping centers. Boldness will come upon My people in Louisiana. There is a worship call. Get ready - the wind is about to blow. The river is changing courses. You will be one of the first that changes."

Sincerely, Ant[;)]

Ah, "Wrath of God". It's my favorite "Magic: The Gathering" card. Anyway, though I don't agree with the Christian sentiment, I will keep the victims of earth's natural disasters (and man-made ones) in my thoughts and prayers. I could go into a long tirade about how I don't agree with your slightly offensive views in light of my pagan ones, but I'm not going to. I'm merely going to leave it at the fact that we can all believe what we want, we shouldn't inflict of beliefs onto others, and that we should do all we can to help the victims of Katrina.

Wow - now thats just really nasty. And particularly ignorant. For a 'lovingmaster', you tend preach an awful lot of hate. I think this is probably your worst. Same feeling about the nazis? Or how about - european immigrants into the US/New World?
At least we now know certain peoples thoughts on genocide.

Angel, I too agree with you. I am one of those, "born again christians", and I do take offense to the generalization that all the "born again christians" care about is money, power, and fitting the bible to their agenda," statement. Not all are like that and unfotunately some of the blame there is due to t.v. and radio evangelism, notice I said some.
As far as Katrina goes, see how the populace, community of humanity, are reacting to the situation? I live in central mississippi, just a tad south east of Jackson, and beleive me what we saw here is nothing compared to what the south saw and it was very frightening just with what we had, I think Master and I are just coming down from the anxiety created by what we lived thru, can you imagine the trauma those people have lived thru and are still living, no homes to go back to, haveing to rebuild their lives, not even knowing where to begin, New Orleans can take up to 8 wks at least to be completely drained of the water standing in it and even then the area more or less has been shut down, declared uninhabital, in fact the mayor is considering, for the safety of the people still insisting on staying there, forcing them to leave. Main thing is the health issues involved, but understandably those people don't want to leave, because there are people out there who are preying on those defensless people and looting homes, stores and the such,(GREED, GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING MENTALITY) and many have worked long and hard for what they have.
Than another issue, some of the parents have been seperated from their children, when rescue help came there wasn't room to take all the people so the parents sacrificed themselves and sent their children to safety with the hopes of being reunited with their children soon and we are now one week+ from the natural disaster and they still haven't found each other, There are college kids who were somewhat safe here in the Jackson area that came from Louisiana, that still haven't heard from their parents as to if they are ok or not, How about focusing as a community on what we can do to help out these people instead of wondering if God did it to punish or if Mankind was responsible, in my veiw if you want to base this happening on christian or non-christian theme, this is true christianity at work, is reaching out to others to help them thru their time of need, to help them gain their feet and dignity again, it is the way we live our lives on the basic principles that God set forth . And also a good way to show Mans Humanity to Man. Master and I have two rooms that are open, but financially we cannot support another couple or family, so today am going to contact a group to ask questions on how we can offer the rooms but get some help on making their stay comfortable, NOT FOR US TO MAKE A PROFIT ON THEIR SUFFERING, BUT TO HELP THEM GET A NEW START, if I could find work myself that would not be too much of an issue, but with just Masters income things get tight just for us. But we are going to try to do what we can for someone.
Sorry for the rant, and angel was agreeing with you, the rest is just my veiwpoint on the situation. I just feel who cares who's fault it is just reach out and help anyway you can.
