Two bible thumpers knocked on my door one day. They asked if I ahd accepted Jesus Christ as my personal savior. I asked them what do I get if I do that? Their reply was that I would have eternal salvation and that I would ascend into heaven when I died. So I had to ask; "Are you going to heaven?" When they replied in the affirmative, I just had to tell them; "I have only know you two for a moment and I definitely do not want to spend another minute with the likes of you, much less an eternity." Can you imagine spending an eternity with these kooks? I would rather spend eternity with the "sinners".

That reminds me of what I once told an ex girl friend of mine after I broke up with her. "If you're going to heaven, then I'd rather be in Hell than be in the same place with you."

The Bible talks about Damnation. Talks about burning dripping flesh
24 hours a day. Knashing of teeth.

No thank You, I'll take Salvation.

I had JW 's knock on my door, it used to be a regular occurance. So, one day I thought, what the heck? - I let them in. Made them coffee, offered them cookies - oh, and yes, we talked about God... and about 4hrs later they were banging on my door to get out...

I don't know why?

Peace and Love

Let's try to be logical :

The father, the son and the holy bottle of spirit are the holy trinity, they are all god. Jesus is god.
God is love. Transitively, Jesus is love.

I believe in love, therefore in Jesus.
Therefore I'm saved.

oops, I'm afraid I'll spend some time with the JWs [&o]

Or maybe the truth is that I should believe in Inyan, the holy rock, ancestor of all gods and things. Why would the Dakota people be wrong ?

Or maybe I should worship Tepeu and Gucumatz. They were even smarter than YHWH, cuz YHWH has the Magical Verb, but they only had to think about the Earth to make it appear. Do you have anything against this hypothesis ? Were the Mayan people stupid ?

I can even seriously believe in Jesus, just in case. This is called Pascal's wager (or gambit)

Edited to add the link and because I called it "Pascal's bet"... Whatever, it's "le pari de Pascal".
