ORIGINAL: faerytattoodgirl so 9 million players on world of warcraft isnt a sign of kids staying at home and playing video games for hours and hours rather than going out and being active. all those millions of playstation sales and nintendo and xbox etc. healthy eating??? so how is mcd's in biz if parents push healthy eating? plenty of kids eat at mcd's and i bet you would see far less locations if kids didnt eat at mcd's. healthy eating is expensive and many parents dont have enough $ especially if they have more than one child. many parents work too much and dont have time to cook so they resort to going to mcd's or ordering out. And why can't a parent stop their child from playing WoW? And again, all those millions of game systems sold...what's your point? I used to, and still do, play video games. It is up to the parent to regulate their child. You've just proven my point for me. McDonald's is doing so well for many reasons, one of which is that many parents DON'T push healthy eating habits. That is the fault of the parents, and no one else. They can blame McDonald's, they can blame video games, they can blame anything or anyone, but the people at fault are the parents, and no one else. Save the money from ordering out and the McDonald's. Buy pasta, or brown rice. It's quick, easy to make, cheap as all hell, and has complex carbohydrates, which is good for you. There are many many options to ordering out or eating fast food. My point is that when it comes to obese children, the parents have failed. Make the parents take responsibility, because that child IS their responsibility.
