Perhaps the men just purely don't care if they are jackasses or bastards and accept it. "Yeah, I am an asshole, you wanna make something of it?!?"

I am cool with someone telling me I am being a bitch, or jackass or bastard. I honestly admit that I am at times.

No good can come from me posting on this thread.............. Ron....you motherfuker!

Immaturity does play a factor, so does control - or rather a lack of it.  You rarely see dominant women bitching in groups, if they bitch - it's law and what they think as an individual - not like the petty squabbling in a harem where a pack mentality prevails.

That's a very good point, especially in the light of these forum boards.

*sigh* here's my question....How come we never see threads about men being jackasses or bastards?? i mean we all know plenty and yet they are content to live in their jackassism or bastardism. Why is it? Is it possibly that they have a higher level of self acceptance and don't have to spend all day looking around at the faults of everyone else?
i don't know....

the site is rife with the motherfuckers.

Ron

sexist jackassism at its best; its personfuckers, if you dont mind

So, you believe that women are wired to be bitchy because we are threats to each other? I know little anthropology, so I can't speak for other cultures. I'll take your word for it.

I completely agree with you that (if you are correct, and I dispute that we are naturally wired to bitch) it's within our power to check on these behaviours and to modify them.

I don not really like the term bitch as it kind of describes a 24/7 approach to being bitchy with other females and men but yes in the nature versus nurture I believe this is significantly more on the nature side then nurture side.

We women are very competitive with each other and without the ability to step back and view reality it often becomes personal when a situation hits a nerve in one of us. I think the tendency is to make a gross generalization but I think the bitchiness comes out in most of us only in specific things that are specific to ourselves and personality.

Because they don't fall victims to their stupidity, so they have less to worry about?

LaTigresse -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:18:28 PM)

I've seen some pretty deplorable behaviour, not all that long ago either..........from dominant women. I just think they are like multiple poisonous snakes in a pit, circling around one another hissing. They each know they have the ability to strike and kill so they avoid a direct hit.

HUMOUR!!!!!!!!!!

lusciouslips19 -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:18:42 PM)

I'm a bitch
I'm a lover

I'm a mother
I'm a sinner

toservez, with all respect I ask that you consider that ALL women do not have the same natural instincts that you feel we do. I've rarely felt competitive with women. (or men) It just simply is not my nature. I find that I do have the ability to step back and view reality and contemplate why I might be feeling upset rather than react in a manner I will regret later. Granted, it is not always the easiest path to take but it is, in my eyes, the mature one.

RCdc -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:25:15 PM)

Absolutely.  I was also going to write about the 'prime example' but feared your OP might get hijacked, which would suck, so avoided it.
If there is control in a life, regardless of where that control or authority comes from, their is no need to 'proclaim' oneself.  In that sense 'Bitch' is the wrong label to use as Lucy says Babe in Total Control of Herself.... I see them more as Cat's - all claws and hissing and Control Absent Totally.[;)]

Kalista07 -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:27:28 PM)

i must agree with LaTigresse, maybe i'm just much more self aware than a lot of people...But 99% of the time i'm aware when i'm acting like a bitch....And i'd say the majority of that time it has nothing to do with jealousy...But, generally it does have a lot to do with insecurity... i guess in my mind it's similar to people who act arrogant...i recognize for them how lonely and insecure they must be to have to compensate for their feelings in such a way.....
But, then i'm okay with the fact that i'm human...And at times i'm going to be a bitch, a jackass, a bastard, a personfucker (heh) and damn....occasionally hell i'll even be a cunt...
But, i guess maybe i'm just more secure within myself than i thought.
Although, i still reserve the right to blame my lack of ability to draw a coherent thought on the car accident.  :P

kittinSol -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:28:31 PM)

I never felt competitive with other girls/women because I perceived them as a threat either - but I see why some would feel it's innate, because it's instilled in us from the very day we are born.

Gender stereotyping begins in infancy; baby girls are praised for their beauty and cuteness. Baby boys for their strength. Yes, hormones make a difference in the behaviour of infants, but society enforces these differences so that they become set in stone, defining sets of behaviours from which it's difficult to escape.

I agree with that 100% and I liked to believe that I do as well most of the time but cannot say I never fall prey to making something personal based on another’s behavior.

But as I wrote, I do not think it is blanket, if another woman does this then all women will respond this way. I think we all have different personality traits and issues from experiences or wishful perceptions that can make us act out in this way. If you have no issues or few and can always check them I say congratulations to you sincerely. You are a more enlightened human being then I.

Perhaps, this is the crux of the reason i'm having difficulty relating to this thread...This was not my experience.

kittinSol -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:32:33 PM)

You're correct in that lack of self-esteem and control is at the origin of much of the bitchiness we witness. Is it lucylastic who made the very good point that many girls are brought up to be devoured by self-doubt - in nearly everything they do?

Suzykeu -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:33:38 PM)

i've rarely felt competitive against other women, but it's probably because women are what i looked for in a signifigant other. i don't have to compete with the 'object of my desire.'

As for women competing with eachother more than men, i just don't think that's true. It seems to me that it's just a different way of competing; guys work to make themselves look good and women just go beyond that to make others look bad.

kittinSol -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 12:33:53 PM)
