i dont fight over men or compete with other women for their attention or for anyones attention...if someone likes me and wants to be with me than fine, if they dont than i dont need that person in my life....

Bound2One -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 8:16:35 PM)

[As an aside, I wonder if anyone of a.......more advancing age such as myself..[:D].... would agree that these tendencies have lessened with time. That in becoming more confident and happy with yourself you find the need to snark at other women, even those you do not particularly care for.....less? That it's just sort of a "oh whatever" in your head, rather than the burning desire to go on full out attack? ]

I've definitely found this to be true.  The older I get, the more secure I am in myself; hence, the less I feel the need to snark.  I have more of a 'well, she's an ass, but that's her problem' kind of attitude now.

I hate bitchiness. I abhor it, and wish women could show more solidarity and friendship towards each other. Some have fallen prey to the trappings of the patriarchy and show these very qualities I deplore. Bitchiness doesn't equate strength, or self-belief. It's nothing to do with being in control because it comes from insecurity; it's everything to do with being out of control with.

You're a Dominant, arent you?[:D]

us subs? Are we suppose to be in control?

You do make a very valid point.

I find this whole thread to be ridiculously sexist and inflammatory. But I am not surprised by any of the comments here, it is fairly predictable what has been said

Yep.  Including this statement.  Very predictable, indeed.
quote:

I think it is myopic to cite low self esteem, wired in genetics, jealousy and competition as reasons for being a bitch

Is there anyone here who has an opinion that you do not share that you haven't referred to as "myopic?'  The whole world must be myopic.  Only you can see the truth, eh?
quote:

Perhaps those women who YOU think are bitchy, are just confident, honest, blunt and somewhat confrontational when their opinions differ with yours?

Perhaps.  Or perhaps they're just cunts.  Could be either one really.  I totally prefer that term rather than "bitch" to describe such a female charmer[;)].
quote:

It also bears mentioning that any woman who possesses strength of character, strong beliefs and a healthy ego is bound to intimidate lots of people, so they run to the safe haven of the word "bitch". When men in business pull rank, they are leaders, when women do it, you hear, What a bitch!

Now that is one statement from this post that I can actually agree with.  That does often happen.
quote:

Like others have said, I find it a compliment

Not a bit surprising.
quote:

it has nothing to do with control issues. In fact, most bitches are perfectly in control

So not the case.  If someone is actually "in control," they don't have to act like a cunt...er...bitch to get things done.  It is so totally unnecessary.
quote:

Sometimes it is just fun, but god forbid any of you actually admit it; that would be too honest.

And only you are really honest here.  Only you dare speak the "truth."  [8|]................luci (who thinks just maybe it is sometimes fun being a bitch when that's the only thing someone seems to understand)

Er, excuse me Miss? Do you have a vendetta against this person? You seem to follow her and cause smoke whereever you go?

Is being a bitch the only thing you understand? Hows about you just hide her posts and vice versa and you can go back to being the sweet lil kitten you always were before she came into your screen and got you all in a dizzy. All of us would really appreciate it if we could just have debates without the personal attacks.

Yeah, luscious, she does seem to be QUITE obsessed with me, doesn't she? I find it cute, really. I actually hid her vapid posts but unfortunately, since you quoted her, had to read her predictably boring reply.

It is so sad that she cannot be an adult and simply allow other people to have an opinion.  Ooooh...and she used the "C" word...oooh we are all so impressed with her vitriolic outburst.

Ooooh..she is soooooooo mean. I mean, what a BITCH. LMAO.

Yes, I think it's quite true that as age takes its toll our minds mature and wisen. Hopefully with most of us. It's true that it's easier to be detached from these tactics when one is a little longer in the tooth.

I'm starting to appreciate that myself. And as a benefit, I find an increasing number of women who, like me, enjoy each other's company for real human exchanges, not ones drenching in fallacies and illusions.

Good point :-) .

You took the words straight out of my digits - incredible, isn't it? There we have a peaceful thread on a slightly confrontational subject (but nothing outrageous), and after a few pages of civilised conversation the BSC arrives like elephants in a porcelain shop and ... crash.

They proved my point, but I'd rather have been wrong.

PS: what's sad is that the first flaming poster agreed with me that 'no, women aren't bitches' only to go on about how cool it is to be a bitch.

I've always had solid relationships with women - don't know what I'd do without my girlfriends....and martini nights.  [:D]

I couldn't sleep, stomach is rumbling b/c I had a very light dinner last night... I read that as, "Elephant sized pork chop". I need sectioning.

I know I am missing something here.  That is why I have not had a "fit" yet.
I could not possibly understand why anyone would be proud about being a b____.  I won't write it.  Don't want to wind up on moderation again.
Can we not as a society of women conduct ourselves with respect and help each other?

Regards, MissSCD

MissMorrigan -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 8:44:13 PM)

Having received my fair share of mail over the years from submissives that say, "I feel drawn to you b/c you seem like you can be a real bitch who could control me", confusing dominance with bitchiness and it appears to be a generally perceived character trait of many. Why? It's not an endearing trait to possess and from what I have seen, it's not gender specific either - I'm one of those persons who will waltz into a gents' loo b/c the women's are chock-a-block with them visiting in pairs only to overhear the same kind of attitude synonymous with women.

Can't we all just get along?

sexyred1 -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 8:55:16 PM)

No, not unless you agree 100% with whatever a poster starts a thread about. Only then can you get along. Otherwise, you end up in bitchfests. Funny, how that was what the OP spoke about and seemingly started.

kittinSol -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 8:59:09 PM)

I think a great majority of us had a pretty good debate here. A small group of renegades  named the BSC [sm=sodoff.gif] has made an attempt at sabotage). We're keeping shtum for now, as it looks as though they may have found more entertaining pastures.

Otherwise, we'll have to park them in cages. And gag them first lol :-) .

philosophy -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 9:00:10 PM)

....seems to me that some people wish to define our differences over our similarities.....hence the bitch/jackass dichotomy......basically it's all the same, some people are just, er, arseholes, regardless of gender.

MissMorrigan -> RE: Are women born to be bitches? (2/5/2008 9:02:53 PM)

Thank you for articulating my sentiments far better than I could, Philo.

You had a pretty good debate until someone disagreed with you, isn't that the real truth? Hypocrite.

Oh, and I think giving someone the finger is against TOS. It should be reported.
