That's cool! Mine is male too and I went to poke him one day when I thought he was dead. He just likes someone to pet him. And vacationing in my bathtub when I clean the bamboo tank out.

LOL in the bathtub? cool! Must feel like an ocean to him!

sweetwenchie -> RE: Can you handle a "weak" Dominant? (2/9/2008 12:51:05 PM)

i could not handle a weak willed Dominant that would allow my personality to overcome his, but one who has fears?  That would never be an issue, everyone i have ever met has a fear of something.  Even the Dominants with super powers  are human under the cape and tights.

As to your fear of the dark, i still sleep with a nightlight, and simply cannot deal with any body part hanging off the bed.  While the rational side of me KNOWS there is nothing under there to grab me that does not change the fact that i am certain that the day my foot hangs off the edge of the bed is the day i get yanked under and eaten. [;)]

edited to add...  my poor male betta almost took a trip down the sink drain last time i was cleaning his tank, i think i am going to try the vacation in the bathtub idea next go 'round!

WaratahBlossoms -> RE: Can you handle a "weak" Dominant? (2/9/2008 12:53:09 PM)

Well, I can't get yanked under my mattress. There's only a floor under there. But I hate having my closet doors open or cracked. But the bathroom door is right next to my head and HAS to be open.

And yes. Canterbury vacations in the bathtub when I change the bamboo water. He likes it. I just have to put a little piece of cloth over the drain because I'm afraid it's going to get loose, suck him in and eat him.

Edit:

That's why I do it. I've lost a good 4 or 5 down the sink drain. That's why I catch him and drop him in a 1/4 full bathtub. I just make sure it's semi room temp water and at least 2x his height for fun swimming.

kiru -> RE: Can you handle a "weak" Dominant? (2/9/2008 12:56:05 PM)

i dislike being handled by a weak dominant and tend to sneak the top position when i notice  a lack of strength , as a switch its hard to give something to someone who wont take it completely and im compelled to 'take it back' .  The one i will serve ( my Daddy) will have to comand me in a way i have never been comanded befor, im not stubborn buti am strong minded and need a daddy smart enough to be stronger than me , cuter than me to keep me wet, taller than me to make me feel protected physically, and more sensual and erotic than I am , if not , i might as well just take another sub......

I don't want to handle anyone...but maybe that's a weakness of mine.

Gwyn, awesome lady, I've got a baseball bat. Is that enough, ya think?

it is a good start.. but it will do no good if you are out walking to your car some where... I always reconmend for women to get some fighting skills. You may never use them.. but with the statisics of 1 in 3 American women get raped in thier lifetime.. I think we should all be prepared to protect ourselves and know what to do.

My girl still laughs about me stalking through the house naked with my long sword in hand about to hack up intruders. At least I had enough presence of mind to toss on a robe when I went outside to circle the house and check for a lic. plate number.

and Greedy, ya know it! *winks* Big Amazon girl... you know me.

I would have reported him, but oddly enough, his father came home drunk with loaded gun and "solved the problem" that I had.

I hate this little town. *shudder*

You don't sound very weak to me. You sound human. I can't sleep with doors closed (closet, bedroom, wardrobe), I have to be able to SEE if someone is coming out of the dark for me. Thank you father may you burn in hell. There are little night lights in every room (plugins are great no one thinks anything of them).

The town can be changed, you can always move when you are ready to. You can get help for the residual trauma left behind, and for the insomnia, heck you can even write me for a recipe I call Mother's Milk..it works! Stimulates the sleep center of the brain that parents loved when you were an infant.

But don't doubt yourself.  Dominants are human, and humans have known for centuries there are nasty things in the dark. One reason we got down out of those trees, found a defendable cave and lit a fire.

Now, the nonsensical fear of koalas is the one I find embarassing.

A very close and dear friend of mine who his entire being screams Dom has a fear of bunnies.  Yes the fluffier and cuter they are the more freaked out he gets by them.  Everyone has their strange things, like me I can't even walk across the room without triping on something (though many times over nothing other than my own feet)

Soooo.. the scene in Holy Grail with the killer bunny is a no-go for him? *grin*

LOL I love ya..at least I am not the only one who has at LEAST one sword in every room ( and a gun in da bedroom,  but I always reach for the sword..hmm). I figure the person who breaks into my house is gonna have a BIG surprise, after he has tripped over the black and white cat, the 85 lb black chow cross, the 150 lb black and white akita, he is gonna be very unhappy to see the wild haired, nekkid woman taking a slice out of him with a long sword. Thats If Komodo (akita) has left anything for me to slice and dice, or Master hasn't woken up and shot him ( he reaches for the gun)

SubJordanTyler -> RE: Can you handle a "weak" Dominant? (2/9/2008 1:36:49 PM)

Everyone has something like that about them.  I am terrified of heights and it can get to the point of a panic attack.  I don't see it as a weakness at all.  I have lots of other strengths and I just focus on those.

That makes 2 of us.. I actually had to be carried off a pedestrian bridge once (only about 10 ft drop) because of a panic attack.  *shudder*

slavekal -> RE: Can you handle a "weak" Dominant? (2/9/2008 2:33:19 PM)

I try to be reasonable.  We all have certain weaknesses.  But if a woman is just a bundle of phobias and tears, then she is not for me.

For instance, I have an odd fear of the dark. Does this make me laughable to you or do you find it "cute?"

Quite honestly, for me, neither.  I am a proponent of facing one's fears and overcoming them.  Just the other day my Master and I were talking about all the fears and phobias I have overcome since belonging to him.  I don't find having fears to be weak, but I would have trouble belonging to someone who simply accepted those fears as part of who he/she is, without trying to overcome them.

That doesn't seem to be the overriding opinion expressed in this thread, but it is mine, none-the-less.

GreedyTop -> RE: Can you handle a "weak" Dominant? (2/9/2008 3:26:41 PM)

yeah...but how's Waratah gonna deal with the koala thing?  Having a breakdown at a zoo is probably NOT a good thing... :)

Moi? A sub? Say it ain't so, Joe.

When I first created the account, I used a lower-cased "a" and I don't see a way to change it. Odd, I did change it on the main site, but here the lower-case continues...

I'm not really afraid of them, but they do kinda creep me out.. I used to have a toy koala, which I loved... it's the LIVE ones that creep me out

Umm ya do know that there is good reason to keep out of reach of Koala's right? They look soo soft and fuzzy and cute and the Quantas Airline commericals helped that image however.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koala
Koalas that are disturbed are known to be violent, their teeth and claws capable of causing considerable injury to humans; special handling requirements are as such applicable.

And from  http://www.epa.qld.gov.au/register/p01516aa.pdf It should also be remembered that koalas are capable of defending themselves. They have sharp teeth and claws capable of causing deep wounds and any dog that attacks a koala may risk serious injury.

Cute and Fuzzy don't mean adorable and safe. Anything with teeth, claws, beaks, wings, flippers or even dorsal fins can and does fight back if it is scared. Fear them, no, respect them yes.. at least for me. Steve Irwin was taken down by a fish that many including him considered safe and docile enough to ride.

Well, he and I would be perfect sitting and watching Chamber of Secrets with our feet up on the couch.
That just made me twitch a bit thinking about all those spiders.
EW.

Snicker..I am an arachnaphobe. I have been known to pick up human bodies and beat spiders into their next 16 incarnations with them. Boy can I tell tales about that, including the eX with an Axe that lost to a wolf spider. But, I digress. I saw Arachnophobia in a Drive-In from the back of a car. I WAS in the front seat when it started. My firend said I did not go over or under the seat, out the door or anything else. One sec I was in the front the next in the back. Teach him to take me to a movie where the oversized spider is 6 feet across on the screen.

poenkitten (who found wasp spray works wonders and goes a LONG way down the hall to kill a spider)
