I had to look this shit up because I don't even know what we are talking about really. Here is a link to the Daily Mail that purports to be an image of two women, one size 0 and the other size 18:

http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/03_01/sizezeroDM_468x455.jpg

I can't say I find either anything to shout about, there must be a satisfactory middle point there. If I had to choose I'd take the lady with the smile on her face. Happy is good. Seems to enjoy her drink also.

Would have been nice to see their chests, it's an aspect of beauty left out of the picture in this example.

I just looked at those women, my first instinct was 'yuck' to the bony woman then I had a flash of 'dammit I want to be that skinny again' which lead to 'the curvy woman looks beautiful and lush'.On Victorias Secret.. none of their bras fit me. I'm a 42C, my ribcage is big. Otherwise I'm a size 10 ranging to 12 which means their stuff should fit me but it doesn't.Old Navy has nothing I can fit into even though I'm not a big person (aside from that ribcage).Lane Bryant stuff is way too big on me. Someone needs to make some sort of NORMAL body clothing! What is up with all the tops coming out that look like maternity wear?? Why can't I find a pair of jeans that aren't hip huggers? Why can't I find a pair of jeans that fit my waist but don't swim around my legs? I find it absurd and sad to hate on a size. I find it a bit weird as well. Now hating on the fashion industry? Yup.

SirRober -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (2/9/2008 6:08:49 AM)

I count 4, maybe 5 ribs no bum and knobby knees.    OBTW   I love women with extra padding. (if I can see your ribs you are to skinny for me)

I don't ever get bothered by sizing that companies use other than the annoyance of having to try on things to see the fit.

I also do not care what the sizes are called. Nowadays some companies are starting their sizes at 22 or 32 or whatever. You just try a few on until you find what fits.

As for VS, I never shop there. Waste of money, but I have to say their models used to be like Claudia Schiffer and Laeticia Casta- soft curves. Then they became like Heidi Klum and Tyra- more athletic and lower in body fat but still clearly feminine. Now with Adriana Lima, Allesandra Ambrosio and Gisele- they look like transvestite men with weird faces. I have no idea how someone that looks like gisele actually can sell lingerie to women. Every time I see her I swear she is hiding a penis in her thong. I'll be happy when they choose models that look like women again. Even if they pick ones that look like unattainable and unrealistic women, somehow I would just prefer women that don't look like alien TVts.

What I really truly cannot understand is how anyone looks at those alien transvestites and wants to 1) buy the underwear they are wearing 2) starve themselves in a clearly hopeless attempt at looking like them 3) feel intimidated by their 'beauty'.

There are a lot of tweakers in my county.  Size 0 hangs loose on some of them.

Surreal as ever.

most women who have tattoo's have one in that spot.  nothing wrong with it.  i'd rather have it there than on my ass.  my ass gets colorful enough when its spanked.

True B.. I did love those Dove ads.  Never think I could be or want to be a size 0.  I like having curves.

donnaamarie -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (2/9/2008 9:25:33 AM)

Hi camille,

If I said "I feel your pain" would it make you feel any better?  Try 44C.  I have that strangely flaired ribcage as well.  I went to VS to try on some bras and I was devastated that I won't be able to wear them.  Panties, yeah, have a ton of those overpriced commodities.  Old Navy?  I can fit there, sometimes.  But for me the waist is always too big and the legs fit.  And I wouldn't purchase one of those strange empire waist shirts if you told me it was free, or came with a sports car if I bought it and wore it!! Size is hardly the issue.  I'm just looking for a good fit!  Should we also start talking about those button down shirts that NEVER fit, no matter what size you buy?

Let's face it, in the end everyone has something about themselves that they hate.

christine1 -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (2/9/2008 9:33:28 AM)

well, it seems there are lots of us big ribbed girls out there, i'm a 44C as well and i've found the best place to find that size is lane bryant.

Thanks, Level. It's good to know that what most of us actually look like is appreciated:)

WaratahBlossoms -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (2/9/2008 10:10:57 AM)

I love the fact that, in high school, while every girl was a Sz 2 or less, I was a 14.
Now I'm a size 11 but that's just because my hips are out to get me.

Then again, 90% of men love women with child-bearing hips.

My chest is normal, my stomach is pudgy (not baby fat anymore, just me), my hips are gigantic, and my thighs giggle when I walk. I look small in pictures, but no! don't let that fool you.

I found that American Eagle fluffs my ego. I go in there and try on pants and I'm a size 7. I've never shelled out for their jeans but I just go in there when I'm feeling particularly fat and come out a million times better.

I don't think either gender wants someone a size 0. My Pet's a size 2 and that's bad enough, in my opinion. I mean, I want someone that's going to last with me. Not someone I'm going to break if I choose to sit on their laps.

My daughter's father was a bit of a bigger boy when we met. He was only about 5'6" but hit a nice 200lbs. After 2 years, he's 5'6" and a size 0. Looks rather like that picture up there too! Needless to say, I can't look at him without getting ill when I see him now. I lost a lot of love and respect for him when he felt like being half my size.

I want vikings! Women that are nicely built and capable of bearing a good 3-6 children and then raising them and working the rest of their lives. I want my men to give me a bit of fear when they're capable of throwing my over their shoulder and walk around with me like that.

Sexy is a partner that you couldn't use as a kite on windy days. But I'm just shallow. ;)

MadRabbit -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (2/9/2008 10:23:58 AM)

After juxtaposing the many threads about people hating overweight people, this only reinforces my theory that only switchs with a moderate weight, moderate height, and average looks ever reach the Summum Bonum

Oh.  I feel old.  So "tramp stamp" is what you young folk call a tat?

I actually thought you wanted a tramp (ie a vagrant) to stamp on your back!

Tats are good.  Get them everywhere.

faerytattoodgirl -> RE: size 0 haters- what's the deal? (2/9/2008 10:34:45 AM)

actresses certainly dont look like that picture.  and yet most of them are sz 0 or 2 or 4 at most.  they have well toned bodies.  so how can they get away with it? well i think the one in that pic has all the eating disorders and is why they look the way they do.

models on the other hand look more like that picture and are definately known to have eating disorders.  what about dancers? they are built well and are sz 0.  im sure some of you had seen dancing with the stars.
