A couple of facts:

Size zero came about when the "tween" generation sought out "teen" clothes.  Junior departments created the size zero which is actually a child's twelve or fourteen.  It wasn't created for anorexics.  Most sufferers of anorexia never reach a size zero,  thus overly thin people had nothing to do with the creation of size zero.

Also, sizing has changed drastically in the last fifty years. What was a twelve in the 50's is a size six now.  Since early 2000, stores like Express have adopted "Glamour Sizing".  In essence, everything is about 4 sizes smaller than normal (whatever that means).  Thus one who normally wears a 4, now wears a 0. It was marketing move in an attempt to sell more merchandise.   The reason there are no longer standards is that most clothes are not made in the US. Every country, every brand is slightly off.   Look for fit, not size.

As for those of you who were talking about not being able to find a suitable pair of of jeans, I reccomend trying high end denim.  The Gap and AX don't count as premium denim.  My mother spent years complaing about the way jeans fit her, and I finally got her into a pair of True Religions.  She cried.  Oprah actually did an entire episode on why premium denim is better for ALL body types.

Finally to Robert, we get that you don't like skinny girls.  You say it over and over again, but this isn't about what you like in a partner.  You're just making people feel bad.  Why do you feel the need to point out your personal preferences over and over again.  It's kind of coming off as digg, and you don't seem like a jerk, but it's just not nice.

I understand your sentiment here, and it does bother that someone might reject for physical appearance, without getting to know the person. Especially with some of the language put forth. It happens all the time here, however, and the thread was kind of targeted to that type of expression, it seems to me.

Some might miss out on someone who is wonderful, life changing, a partner, simply for a superficial preference. However, and after all, we are all the same in having our own uniquness in preferences, short, tall, fat, thin, old, young, ethnic, whitebread, etc. We don't all express them for public consumption (no pun intended), but like the ass or dingbat who cuts me off in traffic, I'm not going to think he or she is doing it because they know me and wanna bother me.

When i was in my teens i wore a size 5.  Without getting any smaller, i became a size 1.  The clothing industry went to "vanity sizing" in response to americans getting larger.  When i was in my 30s, without getting any smaller i found i fit in a size 0 depending upon manufacturer.  my body didn't change at all just the sizes.  So hating on someone because of the size they wear???  That doesn't even make sense since clothing manufacturers can do whatever the heck they want when it comes to sizing.

Not 0 hating in general. My comments are based off of the picture link that was posted of the size 0 and the size 14. Look at the girl. She's unhealthy.

As I said, my Pet is a 2 with the stong determination to be a size 0. As long as he doesn't get sick, I'm fine. I'd just prefer him with a bit of meat on him.

I feel like I'm having sex with a 12 year old girl sometimes and it can get disgusting. But that's how he is. I seriously doubt he's ever going to feel or look like a man. Doesn't have the testosterone in his body to do it. The only hair is on his head/face and legs.

Dove ran a good campaign with real women in underwear

Unfortunately most women look like they participated in the Dove Bar campaign.

http://www.freakingnews.com/Fat-Women-Pictures-6579.asp

http://www.leonardnimoyphotography.com/images/2/fullbody/Zz298.jpg

Leonard always struck me as a bit of a chubby chaser.

Do you know how many women would kill to look like the chicks in the "Dove campaign?"....If people think that the Dove campaign realistically portrays Americans today it is laughable.....We are a country of fat asses.

I'd tap all of the women featured in that campaign. Those numbers fall off dramatically when approaching the real world.

I have birthing hips, there is no way that I will ever be that small or want to be that small. Im happy with how I look for the most part. . Oh and to mention dancers, I have been dancing for half of my life, Im short and Im not a size zero so umm I believe that statement is false. I know plenty of non-skinny dancers.

most women who have tattoo's have one in that spot.  nothing wrong with it.  i'd rather have it there than on my ass.  my ass gets colorful enough when its spanked.

heh.  i have one there, Daddy refers to it as the "celtic pan pizza".  its a celtic knot that's divided into 4 quarters...

I hear they are going to size 00, and 000, if anyone hasnt mentioned that yet.

Being a thin-type girl does not make me at all perfect, or completely hideous either. I have had body image stuff since I can remember. When I was a child my knees were the widest part of my legs pretty much. In my 20's the obsession of not being 'good enough' was insane. I was afraid to lie on my side, with a guy for example, because I though he would think my breasts were weird, or flat or something. Insanity for sure. Thin people can having visually pleasing bodies and so can heavier folks. Some folks look better naked than with their clothes on. I remember this one roomie I had back in the days of like 6-7 roommates in a big house. We went to the same gym and when I saw her naked in the locker room, I was shocked how amazing she looked naked. In her clothes she looked lumpier and frumpier.

After all these years of feeling inadequate and basically unable to see and enjoy my own beauty very well, I am tired of the struggle. I dont wish it on anyone, although I know most of us suffer the same crap. I like those Dove commercials too, for using regular, beautiful, everyday folks. I look forward to the day when we are free to enjoy ourselves in our skin and not feel competitive, inadequate, ugly, or what ever creepy feeling, judgement keeps us from truly loving our self the way we are. It seems to me as we can relax in these ways we can be more tolerant of each other and not need to have a debate about flesh and bones. Some guys dig big breasts, some dont. One is not better than the other. It is tragic to feel, or be made to feel as though because an aspect of our body does not 'measure up', we dont deserve, or cant be who or what we think we might have, or be if it did.

Consider becoming a nudist. I've been one for over 20 years and it's a place free of judgement. You will see people with mastectomies, huge scars, missing limbs, all the things life does to you. It's a great thing for those with body image problems.

You don't grow up with those feelings of not measuring up when you are raised this way.

The only drawback I've found is you have to time those spankings so the marks don't show when you are at the nudist club.

The sad thing is women who are slender and the ideal are just as insecure as other women. Ask any supermodel if she thinks she has the perfect body. The sad fact is, regardless of shape or size very few women were raised to accept and appreciate their body.

No hater here!

I love smaller girls. The smaller the better, well to a point. There was this one girl I was with years ago who was about 90 pounds and we couldn't do rough doggie because her hip bones would smack into mine. YEOWCH!

I have nothing against the size 0 women. Some of my best friends and relatives are.  What drives me batty is when I go shopping with them and they complain about how horribly fat they are getting when they couldnt even close a 1. Yes, comparitively, they have "porked up" as my friend Beckah said (she went from a 0 to a 3 when she got pregant) but they forget when I am in double digit sizes I might not have a huge amount of sympathy.  We just laugh about it most of the time.

That can be annoying. But I dont think they are trying to annoy us. I was out at a nightclub at the age of 43. Everyone was 22. they were sweet fun girls and I was having fun talking to them. I had lost a connsiderable amount of weight. enough to feel comfortable in a miniskirt. i was there with a much larger friend. I came out of the bathroom complaining that all these skinny young girls were making me feel fat. Boy, she went off on me and told me how insensitive I was. It wasnt about her. It was about MY insecurity. So even though its annoying to hear skinny girls complain about how fat they are, its about there body dysmorphia and not a slap at us larger girls.

Body image and self acceptance is a real big issue for the majority of women. At least in the US, if not elsewhere.

I don't hate anyone who is any particular size...
I 'hate' that the idea that if you aren't a size 2 or 4 then you aren't thin enough which drives so many teen girls to unhealthy eating habits and feelings of low self worth.
