ORIGINAL: DesFIP I've given up on the teen wearing the baseball cap, but I hate this routine of wearing the brim facing sideways. And thankfully he wears his pants up in public, inside they start off baggy and then come off. At some point his older sister announced that she had seen all his friends in their boxer shorts. Strange image that. The older one rides horses, Western, and shows heavily. They wear the hats because there isn't anyplace to put them. You can't stick it on your lap, most restaurants don't have shelving for a big cowboy hat, etc. However hats indoors don't bother me. Indeed, for religious Jews it is incorrect for an adult to be bare headed in the presence of the Lord. For Christians of course it is the other way around. I think you're right about the hat in the presencs of the Lord, same thing with circumsisions but I'm glad I had one of those. Maybe it all goes back to knights wearing their helmets to the dinner table.
