i'm new enough to BDSM to be feeling my way and working out who i am..
after a session with my Dom this afternoon i find myself wondering am i a pain slut...and how can one know? OK He was only using a flogger but enough to make the whole ass and thighs area bright red [still pretty red hours later]....but i was wanting more and longed for Him to change to something more painful. i even enjoyed His lousy aim when 'wrapround' and inaccuracies produced more extreme pain. But maybe this is just kiddy stuff to 'real' S/Mers...certainly the riding crops and whips look like they could inflict a level of pain way beyond what i've experienced and maybe way beyond what i would like [ but maybe i'd enjoy that too, later] i know i've just got to keep experimenting on til i find my level but i am burning with curiosity[and the flogger!]

Sounds to me as if you are at least partly a pain slut. Also, generally a riding crop doesn't hurt all that much more than a flogger, although it depends on the length of the strands and what not. A single tail whip, like a bullwhip, can hurt a lot more though.

Hey, Ruthie.

I'm not sure there is a definition for 'pain slut.' Everyone's perception and processing of pain is unique. But if you are enjoying a certain level of pain being inflicted on you, then I'd say you're into it. I am discovering my limits with my Master and I'm always left with a 'gimme more' feeling, which I suspect is right where he wants me so that we can learn together what I can handle and also what he wishes to dish out. I'm understanding the different types of pain there are (stinging vs. thudding, e.g.) and what I can take of each.

I'd definitely talk to your Dom about your desires to try different types of pain with different implements. There are only so many minutes in the day, of course, so this will all take time. Patience. lol This is what I tell myself when I want to feel it all and right away. I definitely understand your craving for more!

It doesn't matter how "hardcore" the pain is that you use to get off .. if the pain is what is getting you off ... then I would say pain is your poison.

I am a world class coward .. pain really scares me and does nothing sexually for me at all. That doesn't mean I cannot "take" a fairly high level of pain .. it just means I get all fucked up in the head with it .. I am in no way shape or form a painslut .. In fact .. my Ideal type of sadist would be one who tortures me using chocolate and fluffy bunny slippers .. possibly even ... just for real cruelty .. forcing me to got to bed with a good book ...(if this is you my number is 555 -879 SLUT)

I don't know about other people, but pain does it for me. I love it. I, too, am exploring my limits in this area. My dom seems to enjoy finding out far I can go.

I could torture you with chocolate. Of course you wouldn't be getting the chocolate, you'd be tied to the wall, or simply ordered not to move, while I laid in bed with the bunny slippers on reading a good book and eating chocolate. Has to be torture after all doesn't it?

Not that it matters much. If you like it and he's good at it, go for it. Labels are for packages, not people.

I have to share yesterday when Master tortured me with chocolate .. and a few other things, though no bunny slippers. I was bound and we were engaging in wax play. Just before he started dripping, with me blindfolded, he slipped a piece of Ghiradelli between my teeth, telling me not to eat it. On the topic:

I agree with subtee that it is important to get some practice with anything more serious, especcially a single tail whip. If one of those hits where it is not supposed to it can cause scarring. A riding crop is pretty easy to control, and I think that the wraparound from a flogger is fun personally, but with a single tail whip precision is vital.

You gave yourself your answer right there ruthie, experiement, see what works for you and what doesn't and realize that what feels good one day may not the next and vice versa. For me, i am sure i am a pain slut. Why? Because i ache, crave, cry for more and more. i get wet thinking about it. When i am being spanked, with what ever He grabs, my ass goes higher and higher and i get wetter and wetter. So far, i haven't found that "too much pain, please stop" or "red red red" threshold.
