I haven't read the whole thread, but Pay it Forward was on late the other night when I had insomnia and I watched it for like the 8th time and yeah....at the end....I cried as hard as I did the first seven times. I love that movie.

I just love The Evening Star......the last 30 minutes always leaves me in tears!!!!

Not stupid movies, but I love them anyway.....Rocky Horror Picture Show......and Heavy Metal....the original one.

Buckaroo Banzai in the 9th Dimension. Love the bath mats that Jeff Goldblum wears and John Lithgow became my hero after that movie.

I adore that silly movie! Something about the "red stapler" and the traffic jam on the way to the office. I can totally relate because I travel nearly an hour each way to and from work. And... I have worked in places that I could have seen go up in smoke like that at the hands of some ex-employees.

Slaveboy- I'm another one who loved the Remo Williams (I read a bunch of the books too) movie- I thought it was great. In that vein, have you seen Jake Speed?

For the vampire folks- two movies come to mind- Once Bitten- which has a superb soundtrack which is impossible to find- Jim Carrey's first starring role, along with Lauren Hutton and Karen Kopins (who's also in Jake Speed and is a slightly younger version of Erin Gray.) and Love at First Bite- Susan St. James and George Hamilton in his best role- funny as hell.

Love stories- I'm ashamed to admit, I kinda like Love Potion #9 with Sandra Bullock and Tate Donovan- also a good soundtrack. A better movie- No Small Affair- Demi Moore and Jon Cryer- less comedic than #9.

I too like Buckaroo Banzai, but I'm not crazy about it.

Nobody's mentioned Savage Steve Holland yet- so I will. He likes to throw some pretty good animation in his movies-I still like One Crazy Summer (Demi Moore actually does OK singing one song in this movie) and Better Off Dead. "What's the world coming to when they be throwin out a perfectly good white boy like that?"

And has anybody mentioned the zany Casino Royale- the one in the middle- think it was '66 with the most unbelievable cast in a movie- ranging from Peter Sellers to George Raft to Jacky Bissett and Ursula Andress. Still my favorite movie.

Blake Edwards did movies with people other than Peter Sellers. One of the funniest scenes ever is the condom cockfight in Skin Deep. If you know a bit about analysis, it really helps for this movie, otherwise it may pull a "huh?"

Another underrated movie- the Seven Per Cent Solution- wouldn't exactly call it stupid or cheesy though, so maybe it doesn't belong in this thread. It's Sherlock Holmes meets Sigmund Freud, and I thought it was wonderful.

also dont forget Young Frankenstien! Heathers was one of those 80's movies.. and Sweet 16.. hell anything with Molly Ringwald. Less then Zero...

Agreed. I really didn't like "Silent Movie." But everything else he did was just brilliant. IMO.

You have to see "Battlefield Earth". It is one of the funniest movies ever. I am sure L. Ron Hubbard didn't intend it to be, but seeing a dreadlocked John Travolta as an evil alien is priceless.
