So,

I am one who thinks that the whole i instead of I and O/our and you vs You thing is retarded. But Master says that I write to him in lowercases except when I refer to his Cock or him (You, Your, my Owner etc). It's been this way for a long time now and I do it without complaint even though I do not prefer to deviate from proper capitalizations.

Now Master and I have this new pet and she does not write to me this way. She is a lesbian and is essentially my pet far more than she is Masters. I don't want her to write in any special caps and lowercase. Master would prefer it.

So others who are not me, what do you think of D/s grammar. Does it turn you on? Do you think it's ridiculous? Would you prefer using it or not using it?

Maybe Im weird and my pet will actually just love writing to me in lowercase letters.

I think it's kinda silly myself. If she is more your pet, shouldnt you be the one deciding how she writes?
I know that some people feel it somehow enhances the dynamic... whatever works for them.. but I'd love to hear somoene actually TALKING like that.. :)

(no flames please... it's just my opinion, and like I said.. whatever works..)

SCREAMS. Forget the grammar. We are not all English Majors. Most of us don't give a shit. As long as you are communicating is all that counts.  Besides when you are talking to someone  do you say Capital A-word ect. when you talking. If so have someone put you out of your misery.

Okay your Master wants your pet who is a Lesbian to write to you in D/s Gobble-dee-gook style.

I am confused as to why your Master cares how your pet who it would seem will not have anything to do with him addresses you.

I am really not trying to be a dick here I am just curious as to why it matters to your Master how your pet addresses you?

If she truely if you pet and your Master has allowed this and she is your responsibility then your Master should accept how you choose to handle your pet without his guidance, however this could be a more direct approach to a third part Domination which I don't care for personally if your Dom is trying to Control your pet through you then were is the Power Structure and who is really in charge? I just see it ending badly if this is the case.

Little more information please.

As Always

I agree with you GreedyTop....having said that, I do capitalize references to my Master ...when I chat, text, or email Him(its something I have done from day 1, He has NEVER required it)...LOL, heck I even do it when I am writing about Him, instead of TO Him LOL. I don't do the whole W/we...or U/us kinda thing...that actually gets on my nerves

I prefer my pets prove how intelligent they are by typing properly, and they understand the uses of the English language. I have known a few people who insist on the caps , but I personally think its silly. I am a lazy typist, overall, and getting annoyed with someone who misses a capital in addressing me seems pointless.  Why expect them to do something I myself cant be bothered doing?

DV

Edited to add: Fox capitalizes Owner when refering to me, but he uses it as a name or title. He doesnt cap she/her when it refers to me, since it shouldnt be.

i have a rule for most higher protocol with my boi/ys "Never required, but when you are inspired, it is always admired and deeply desired"

when some one speaks to me in slashy speak, and it is because they feel inspired to do so...that is realy hot.

if they do it because they have to, or they think they have to...well.....for me ....that is not hot at all.

I see it as a way for small-minded and insecure Dom/mes (and therefore quite possibly small-cocked along with it - for the male ones anyway) to artificially inflate their egos. I agree with DV - far better they demonstrate care and attention in using correct English.

I don't use it and wouldn't like a partner of mine to use it when posting anywhere I'm likely to see the post.  If they wanted to use it with other partners or playmates or when posting to venues where that kind of thing is expected, I'd be okay with them using it.

While it doesn't do anything for me, it clearly does push buttons for some people.  I used to find it very distracting, but no more than all caps or no caps or repeated punctuation marks or many other style choices that people make in their posts.  There are other styles I find much more distracting.

First of all, why would you think anything that Master asks of you to be "silly"--are you not there to please Him?

The " i will do it but i think its stupid"--what kind of devotion does that speak of?

Personally I prefer it, I find that it gives focus especially to a boy in traning---and there are those that poopoo it, but as we say everyday, to each his own.

Greedytop: lol i have never met any one that could talk slashy speak....

but i liked the visual in my head....

in general:  high protocol is a wonderful kink just like all the other wonderful kinks...high protocol, all the elements of it, is about accute mindfulness, and putting one in a head space...i am really surprised by all the negativity and closed minds aroud a very harmless kink

LOL CT.. yeah,., I can totally imagine someone struggling to get the slashspeak out verbally....

*snicker*

Now there's a test for a sub...LOLOL  "verbalize the slashspeak!"

ETA: I don't have an issue with the high protocol thing.. (not my kink, but still).. it's the typing slashspeak that I have difficulty with.. to me, it's hard to read...I CAN, but often I just skip anything with slashspeak..

I find it irritating when Dominants cap themselves My this and Me that i find that a bit pompous. I do cap automatically because as a newbie i was told off a lot for not doing so. I also think that it is a useful way to show who you respect. I only do it with names though, for example Sir and Ceno (Sirs handle) i wouldnt bother with I/i W/we all that stuff is going a bit far. I have been asked by Dominants to cap them but that would instantly make me wary of them. I do it more for me than anything else now.
