If your new pet isn't also your Master's new pet, I fail to see why his idiosynchrasies would carry over...if they do, then shouldn't she already be aware of this "peculiarity" and be adjusted to it...? On a more general note: my girl and I use the caps - W/w or Ww, either/or, take yer pick of style. Note the word - style. It's a writing preference. I've never demanded it. I do not chide my girl if she fails to use it. This is the way she learned to express herself. She feels it is a form of respect and she desires to use it. As her owner, I try to see things from her perspective as often as possible; and from her viewpoint it is meaningful. It doesn't offend me, quite the opposite: she wishes to respect me in every act she commits herself to where I am involved. How could that possibly bother me? I'm all for individual expression, so it doesn't bother me that there are those here who dislike the caps/lowercase style. If it degenerates to bashing, though, I'll wade in, for the very reason that this is yet another example of individual expression!
