While watching his press conference this morning.. I paid particular attention to this couple's body language.  McCain blinked constantly like a someone who was awakened from a sound sleep by a flood light and air horn while talking to a female reporter and would rivet to the voice of a male reporter.. furrowing his brow and looking ever so intense.

His wife had this 'wonderful' frozen smile with raised eyebrows.  I read it as "you old shit, if you blow this election you're gonna pay me big time"

Is anybody schooled in body language that would like to chime in?  What do you think....

I don't know... I never even realised the man had a body. All I've seen of him is his head lol.

I think of the "McCain Mutiny"  (btw.. why are republican candidates so butt-ugly!?  Mitt was a rare exception)

Perhaps he is having flashbacks of being a POW...
He is getting my vote.

I am sure we all project our biases when we try to "read" body language and it reflects in our overall assessment.

I would be interested to know as well by a body language expert. I do believe he has always been a pretty overt blinker so I did not read anything into that.

Whenever I see someone blinking like that.. it reminds me of one of the characters in the Little Rascals movies who's only line was to blink like that and say "Remarrrrkable"

that's another issue.. he needs to "let it go".. it's wearing thin for me. Besides, we didn't "win" THAT war either.  I'd rather have Audy Murphy. I fear McCain's flashbacks are going to be more "Rambo"-like than we can afford.  But that's another thought for another thread.  Anyone who continues a situation  like he proposes and was IN Viet Nam has not learned from history.

So you are 'just sayin' that McCain is a defective weakling and who cares about all that limping and blinking and permanently disabled POW stuff, because it is 'wearing thin' with you?

Heh, all I can really think of saying is this...

Imagine each and every thing you do is studied day in and day out by reporters, analysts, foreign leaders, and voeters...  Now imagine that you're running for president.  You're a divisive figure within your own party and you have to work day in and day out to prepare for November.  You're old, but you still go above and beyond the call of duty just so you can have a shot at winning...

Yeah, your body language will be a little strange from time to time.  I seem to recall Kerry and Bush doing the same sort of things last election.  I recall Bill Clinton recently falling asleep at a Martin Luther King memoral thingie in full view of the camera.  I recall Hillary Clinton losing her composure twice and crying on television(staged or not).

It's a -very- trying thing for the people involved.

And Obama just blew his nose in front of an assembly of supporters after he announced he had a head cold.  Etiquette dictates you at least turn your back and get the job done.  (At least Hillary covered her mouth when she coughed.) Makes me wonder now if he turns to the wall to piss...

Matt Taibbi last month pointed out that modern politics in the United States has been transformed by the media into some sort of weird "Fear Factor: Campaign Trail."  In this new show, the candidate most successful at eating worms and biting the heads off chickens ends up our President.

I remember in the old days when Clinton told the Dipshit in Chief's father "Its the economy, stupid," and ran on a compaign plank of fixing our economy, our military, etc., and then followed up by doing things like modernizing our military force, fixing the budget deficit and leaving a huge surplus of money.

Then His Idiocy gets elected and rapes the treasury, borrowsmoney like a drunken college student, angers everybody else on the planet, almost gets us into a war with China, and invades anywhere he thinks he can get away with invading.

Now we hear about Obama blowing his nose and McCain blinking as if this somehow mattered.

FedUpergy.

I have some very bad news for you, Sinergy.  In 11 months, President Bush II will be out of office, and filed right in front of Jimmy Carter.  Nobody is running against him.  Soon all the hate and spewings will be thrown back at the left in the form of "well you sure threw a shit fit when Bush did what Hillary is doing right now."

Speaking of Taibbi, would you care to offer your opinion of his recent article on how the Democrats completely sold out the "peace movement?"  There are actually a couple threads on the topic you could dig up (Level launched one, if that helps with the search).
