Well one difference is that they don't (for the most part) engage in S/m.

oh?  why not?
I know Gorean Masters that do engage in S/m with their kajira. I think is also reason that they are here on this website and forum.
I do agree they have a "different" way in having their kajira's submit. Most of them do really live it 24/7.

In the past when I have posted in a Gorean forum or been in a Gorean chatroom...or just around anyone who is Gorean, and have spoken my mind there, I have virtualy had my head cut off.  I agree that they tend to get mean, or defensive or downright nasty if you say something they dont agree with.  ESPECIALLY if you happen to be female.

Yes true....but that keeps me going  lol
And I always get nice long replies then   ;)

but even in the gorean group there are soemetimes discussions how to treat people outside their lifestyle. Which is good.

I have yet to meet someone who claims Gor who doesn't engage in S/m.  The ones I talk to seem to be some of the most extreme ones, imo.   And I will go ahead and say that as far as I can see, that irritating talking in third person thing seemed to originate from Gor...something that I could really live without ever hearing or seeing again.

my previous girl was before we met a kajira    24/7 and liked S/m. With me she wasn't 24/7 anymore because of the distance..but still liking S/m

*nods* There is a girl in the local scene who is Gor, and she is quite a masochist.  Fascinating to watch in scene, actually, and not one of the annoying ones...in person, that is.

bleusparkles -> RE: Gorean's??? (2/23/2008 4:53:52 PM)

Somewhere in the Gor books there is casual mention that "Earthly illnesses" like cruelty do not exist on Gor and that slave girls are only beaten or whipped if they are bad. So a lot of Goreans claim they are NOT into S&M but yeah ... Pretty much all the Goreans I met did S&Mish things together from time to time and some were way the heck out there with the hardcoreness.

MissAidan -> RE: Gorean's??? (2/23/2008 4:55:38 PM)

If you ask me, they CLAIM an awful lot of things...yeah.

I have less arguements with the kajira's I met then with their previous owners ..lol
And I love their slave positions...and loyalty
It is a special world.....has good and bad things.

 Why does it all come down to this every single time Goreans are brought up? If someone is curious about it then why not ask them, or read some of their threads? Honestly this is just rude.

I don't know...they live 24/7 pretty much the same as many of us do. Just with a different mind set
So saying it is fantasy is not realistic.(yes I m beware it is based on SF..I read all books)

i'm sorry that You are offended.... i thought i stated in my op why i chose to ask this instead of in the gorean section.

To be debated, quite obviously [:D] .

MissAidan -> RE: Gorean's??? (2/23/2008 5:19:33 PM)

We speak our opinions on Gor, and get called rude.  I was wondering when that would start.  I wont say it doesn't have some good parts...I too love the positions.  My general opion of Gor and those I have met/spoken to who are Gor is not that high.  And my opinion of the books is that they would make good kindling.  Very, very poorly writen.

Lumus -> RE: Gorean's??? (2/23/2008 5:21:01 PM)

I'm a writer.

You wouldn't want to live in my world.

:( thank you  lol

agree

kittinSol -> RE: Gorean's??? (2/23/2008 5:24:43 PM)

About to be rude, but this isn't a Gorist thread (thank you, whoever reminded us that 'Gorist' was, indeed, the correct terminology) - I think many good people waste their talents on all that Gor stuff.

Just as some of them think I waste my life not being a Gorist slave, I suppose :-) .
