I was looking through the "whos viewd me" on my front page, and I saw that an Irish male sub had peeked at me.  Now, I am not looking for a male, but the thought passed through my mind that I wouldn't mind talking to someone of that persuasion just for the accent.  So, I got to thinking...does anyone else have a fetish for accents?  Which ones really do it for you?  I'm a sucker for Irish, Scottish, Australian and English...in that exact order.

Thank you for making this thread.     I swear. Nothing makes me hot and creamy than an....Irish/British/Australian/ NZ   Heck anything European.  Hell.  If you talk in an American accent.   LIE TO ME and make an accent.  Just don't be all Mario Brothers like.  ;)

Please tell me someone has seen SLC Punk? its a great movie that at one point mentions all the posers walking around with british accents "scuze meh mistress Fancy yer-self a Shag"

while yes I admit its sexxy as hell... I also am picturing that scene from the movie so much right now.

I have to say, I am really enjoying reading the responses to this thread!  When I found out the adorable red head I had been talking to could do a flawless Irish accent...thanks to spending summers in Ireland with family...I was hooked.  Now that I think about it, I really should have her do that for me on the phone next time I'm playing with her. *WEG*

well just as long as when you tell her to squirt she dosn't ruin the handset........

oh it has been a jolly hard day....and i just can't see this thread buried, not yet please.......
anyway, amongst other things to think about i was replaying some accents in my head and yes i really do get off on them....and was thinking that the nearest voice to Master's (since it may even have been me who called it dirty cockney), well the nearest accent is Michael Caine.
So i found this Micahel Caine quote which is just too brilliant;
“The basic rule of human nature is that powerful people speak slowly and subservient people quickly -because if they don't speak fast nobody will listen to them.”
It has a sort of kinky twist to it as well.....

i love that phrase 'Received Pronunciation' which refers to that perfectly clipped  so-called upper class accent enforced upon us all and especially reminiscent of early BBC broadcasting (said broadcarsting).
Not to be confused with 'Received English' which means having had a jolly good caning.....
nor indeed with 'received asphysiation'...as if anyone would be in the slightest sense confused after that.....

There are a few accents that do not turn me on. Accents which make me think the person is really speaking a foreign language are just confusing and frustrating.

Arkansan is amusing as well as frustrating. "Haint cheer dunnat?" translates to "Haven't you ever done that?" Having to translate something from what is purportedly my own language is annoying.

When I worked in Boston, my friend's supervisor said my friend Barbara was Bob and my supervisor Robert was Bawb.

I love 'em also.  Brits and Aussies get my knickers damp.   I have been known to tell men with lovely accents that I would be happy if they recited the alphabet to me, as long as they kept talking.

I used to have young Aussie sub who called me occationally.  He called one Dec. 31st to wish me a happy New Year.  I was hosting a party and most of us were out in the yard shooting fireworks, but one of my friends stayed inside as she was allergic to sulfur.  You guessed it, she was the one who answered the phone call.  Thinking it was a crank call, she hung up on the boy.  Later, when we came inside, she said "Some nut called and said he was calling from AUSTRALIA!"  My hubby and I both started laughing and said simultaneously, "Liam!"

Another time, at a convention in New Orleans, I apparently ran into an Ozzie when I was extremely intoxicated.  The next day, this charming man came running up to me, called me by name and was very chummy.  When I kept looking at him like he'd lost his mind, he finally asked "Do you remember me at all?"  I admitted that I did not.  He sighed rather heavily and said "You told me last night that you loved Ozzies."  I laughed that I'm sure I did say that, but I didn't remember a THING past my 3rd Hurricane at Patty O'Brians... except for something about walking back to the hotel and begging my husband to let me kiss a stranger.  I guess I figured that Aussie was 'strange enough.'  *shrug*

Ahh those hurricanes will put you under.. and make you wanna kiss just about anything. O'Brians does make the best ones up there in The Big Easy. It also happens to be where I got my most severe case of food posioning ever in my life. LOL I still can not look at or hear the word Crawfish with out turning green.

Cajun is an interesting accent.. but not one that does anything for me.

Gwyn,
Who spent part of her eve listening to her fave English Accent.

A couple of Northern accents for the accent enthusiasts.....

These two lads are from Sunderland taking the piss out of the Newcastle accent, which is 8 miles up the road.

I have a friend from Manchester. I love talking with her. She has a beautiful way of talking. When I started to get mad about something one day, she said, "Now, don't get fluffed." She was referring to the way a cat fluffs out its fur when it's angry. It was a cute saying, but it was the way she said "fluffed" that really got me. I started laughing, and I lost my mad. Now whenever I start to get mad, I hear Sheelagh say, "Now, don't get fluffed."

French Canadian accents are the best. Whether they're Quebec like my Daddy, or Acadian like my friends here in New Brunswick have. I can usually pick out where some one's from here in Canada just by their voice. For the greater part of the time I'm right. Though I can't tell if most people my age from the Maritimes have one any more. Its seems to have disappeared a bit.
