Constrictor1 -> seperate munches? (2/28/2008 9:50:40 AM)

I just read on anther thread( and have experienced this locally), but I am having trouble understanding the seperate by age munches. There are the "regular" munches and then there are the TNG (The Next Generation ages 18-35) munches. Why are we segregating?

Do a search on "discrimination against younger doms" and it should become clear.

OP you need to grab Cali by the hair and drag her into your den and have her show you how to use the search function.

I guess in some area's the kinky community is large enough to afford such silly distinctions...

Whippersnappers!  Who wants to hang out with them anyway!

subtee -> RE: seperate munches? (2/28/2008 10:14:40 AM)

I thought it was because us old kinksters are not cool? TNGs don't want to sit down with us at the Perkins with our coffee and pie, watch us take our teeth out and listen to us wax reflective about the good ole days...

Well then there is the other side of that same argument, lack of respect from younger generations for the older ones is the opposite perspective of the discrimination against youth.

Constrictor1 -> RE: seperate munches? (2/28/2008 10:25:06 AM)

Thank you Dnomyar,  probably sound advice. Unfortunately she is not mine to control. However I did manage to find and utilize the search button-thanks Jefff- and still don't havean understanding yet after reading a lot of past posts. So (Here we go) are we as an older more ,supposedly, experienced crowd saying that the young inexperienced should be culled from the great and powerful people that are US? Are the younger generation saying you old fuddy duddies are to lazy to teach us anything so we will go muddle along over here. btw I am saying this "tongue in cheek" to attempt to cultivate responses. No offense intended. But if you wanna be offended ...feel free[:)]

Mercnbeth -> RE: separate munches? (2/28/2008 10:25:11 AM)

Out in our neck of the woods it was a result of the treatment many of those in TNG received when attending established munches. Hearing their stories we don't blame them. It is ridiculous, but it is a fact. There is no worse proponent of 'one true way' than a person who feels 'left behind' by a new way by a young 'whippersnapper'.

There are always going to be 'cliques' both real and perceived. People of the same age do have more outside interests in common than people across generations. beth and I sometimes 'forget' (early onset Alzheimer?) that we're too old to participate in some things for a long time - do so anyway, and wake up the next morning with our bodies reminding us.

Remember, often munches are a launching point, not only of relationships, but casual encounters. They are also places to invite and/or get invited to club functions or private parties. Consider the situation, accepting such an invite from a group with members across a wide variety of ages, puts you at risk of seeing a naked 52/42 year old couple! Being 32/22 who would want to see that?! Would would want to be seen by that!? "The Horror!, The Horror!"

sublizzie -> RE: seperate munches? (2/28/2008 10:26:51 AM)

I think it's because my kids don't want to meet me face-to-face at such functions....

Constrictor1 -> RE: seperate munches? (2/28/2008 10:30:13 AM)

Archer, well said and interesting perspective. Unfortunately if you are right this only exacerbates the problem-segregation.

And what of the May-December couples? Which munch do they attend? Or do they get to attend both? [tongue firmly planted in cheek]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: seperate munches? (2/28/2008 10:36:12 AM)

May-December couples!!  Egad!

Dnomyar -> RE: seperate munches? (2/28/2008 10:36:45 AM)

subtee do your teeth walk across the table clacking when you take them out. Op what grown up wants to sit at a table of kids wearing bibs.
