Basically it developed because people ages 18-20 felt left out when clubs, organization and munches refused to let them enter or let them enter but not be full members.

Lots of reasons have been given as to why younger adults were left out. I personally don't like any of them and would not want to be an active member of a group that had policies.

The result was another level of age discrimination in the other direction.

Just FYI: Munches are divided, as are groups and clubs, for all sorts of reasons. Age is just one way.

Status: offline 		In addition to all the reasons listed by others, I know locally many younger members felt like the older members were also cruising them (in addition to doubting their knowledge and/or sincerity.) "Hey you damn kids, get off of my yard -- but kneel and suck my fat one first" sort of attitudes. The TNG group gave them a place where they could meet and be social without that pressure, and it was not in place of the main group's activities. It's as much segregation as the other Special Interest Groups are - there's a meeting of the like minded, and then a big hootenanny where the whole kinky rainbow tribe sings kumbaya, and no one has to sit in the back of the kink bus.

As for the May/December questions, I know I was "grandmothered' into the local ones, due to my relationship with a younger person. Youth has its privileges.

(edited for spelling errors - sue me, I'm on painkillers -- although given the discussion above, maybe I should have left it at "bib" hootenanny!)

If the police raid a club and they find 6 people between 18 and 19 what will the headlines read?
TEENS found in SM Sexclub Raid.
It won't matter if nobody was having sex because the rules forbid it
It won't matter that the "Teens" were all of legal age to consent
The only thing that will matter is that the population of the town will be thinking that the club is full of sick pedophiles looking to torture and rape the local schoolgirls. And the city will shut them down.

It's a sad commentary that they have to be this defenssive but they have their reasons.

If I'm reading the OP right there saying older people.   Which I suspect may include you.  Justify it however you want it's still a clique.  Once you turn 36 your out.  That sure sounds elitest to me.
