LadyHathor -> When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 6:36:38 AM)

I hope this post ends up eliciting some constructive chat versus My personal whine--so we'll see--I seldom post about Me, and I seldom whine ( I think).

I speak of a few years more--age.  When I came back to CM, I had My real age on My profile, then As I got back in shape, felt better about Myself after these last two years, I thought, hell no one will want to approachMeas they will think I am too old ( or I will get the Mommy son types--)--so I moved it back to 48--recently in chatting with someone I shared My real age--and felt like crap--for 2 reasons:

1. that I was not honest on My profile
2. That I felt I had to defend My "agility, ability, activity" and as I was asked--My sexual prowess--

So at the moment I am between steamed, shocked and hmm saddened that perhaps merely based on that chronological calendar, after posting My real age with a note, I feel I am doomed--My emails have slowed to a crawl ( well it could be that its near easter and the boys are having conversion issues--LOL)--and what I do get are Doms, My age and older who say--hey what the heck, we might as well pair up--I even got a nasty note from a sub about My new age posting!

I've been asked for a current picture as no one seems to believe I do look like that--seems to think that pic is 10 years old or something--I feel like I have to validate somehow that I can run rings around most 20 year olds, the boys in My area, know that to be true---what does one do?  You cannot get to the inside of someone when the age is resident frint and center.

Resign themselves that age is indeed an all determining eliminator? That they need some kind of signed testimonial that says, no I dont sit home idle, I'm way too busy and you subby better have a decent energy level or I leave you in the dust? Or do we just pack up our toys and call it a nice life?

It is way easier for the Doms, as they have their pick at any age (IMHO)--but what of us Dominas who are seeking? Granted this is not something I need but something I want to accomplish, do I move it to the slim chances category?

Lie and be thought of as that? Tell the truth and dust the cobwebs off the petitions box weekly?

I am open to thoughts here--and I hope this was not a whine, I am just peod, perplexed and I think, don't want to waste energy if its a joke.

edited for typos and to change the title not to be so selfserving and inspire more banter.

PaMan -> RE: Am I too old for consderation? (3/2/2008 6:43:20 AM)

You should not be too old for anything you wish to pursue. It seems that the mental abilities of those you are in contact with are severely lacking. I disagree with your opinion that Doms have any pick of age because that has not been my experience, even if it seems that we would come together so well on many levels. Stay true to yourself and your age and be proud of it. You'll find that one.

mnottertail -> RE: Am I too old for consderation? (3/2/2008 6:44:16 AM)

I am what I am, I look like what I look like I was born July 7, 1954 that makes me 53 now and 54 in a short time. I live with it, however uncomfortably in my own mind.

I would be extremely reticent to be with someone who lies about their age, or anything else, just not a good fucking start.

Take a picture with a digital date.

I'll have you but your world will hae to turn upside down, I am afraid, you will never ever see that side of the sheets again......not ever.

That is more of the disappointment now isn't it?  All the Dominatrixes running around that should be slaves and all the Dominants running around that should be slaves.

Get with the program, love. And the age thing?  In short, Fuck 'em!!!!!!!

GeezerMaster

(edit: old, but apparently not spaced out yet.......LOL)

KatyLied -> RE: Am I too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 6:46:18 AM)

Someone once lied to me about his age.  I found out after a few months that hardly anything he told me was the truth.  In my experience, if someone lies about their age they probably lie about almost everything.

bobipanti -> RE: Am I too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 6:52:36 AM)

LadyHathor,
Please.. Do not be afraid of age-each year is just another wonderful trip around the sun. I'm getting up there too, but I try and eat right and exercise. You look great and should appreciate your years and your wisdom. If you are afraid of your age, something else is bothering you. Be proud of your femininity and your years-keep active and enjoy the ride. I'd like to get to know you better!

DianeB269 -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 6:54:12 AM)

We are very close in age and I do not see why you would worry about it.
Just have fun and forget about age..Remember, age is just a number.
I also find that most of the subs I meet want to serve a older Domme too..

Diane

PinkPantiedSissy -> RE: Am I too old for consderation? (3/2/2008 6:57:51 AM)

Lady Hathor;  I just wanted to write to you and tell you that in my experience as a sub, I find it very hard to elicit responses from dominas also, and I think it is partly due to my age of 47. I love reading all your posts and find them very informative and thoughtful! I feel, like you, that age means nothing id one is in good shape and has a youthful mindset and is active. There are far more important things in a D/S relationship then age differences between the individuals. I myself love a more mature lady as I feel they are much more real and into this lifestyle as just that, a lifestyle! I see a lot of profiles where the ladies ask for tribute. If one is truly a lifestyle domme, and do this for the love of it, then I feel age has no place in the formula.  Now, that being said, I think you are a very beautiful and intelligent lady! I wish that I was in your area ma'am, as I would love to be yours!  Keep your head up ma'am and don't let anyone ever make you feel that you are not one of the most wonderful ladies on this site!

tabbz -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 6:58:50 AM)

agrees with last two posts- is also older than average in years- but physical age and mental age dont alway match-
as for lying about age - think that would only count against You if you were trying to remove a decade or two- dropping a few years must be a womans privilige..
good luck- hope You find Your man

I think You are very beautiful...
that has nothing to do with how"old" or how "young" You are

lronitulstahp -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 7:04:16 AM)

LH,
i just perved your profile...and may i say You look amazingly good for your age, at least 16 years younger!!!  But that doesn't take away from the fact that some people won't get over the age thing.  Just like some can't get over a preference in hair color, bra cup size, weight, or height.  All these arbitrary things are really important to some people. i look at it as a sifting process.  If i don't have components 'x' 'y'or 'z' for one guy, i'm bound to have it for another, and so on.  My preference in Doms is older, and in fact i am probably likely not to consider a younger Dom(which makes me no better...but that's just my "thing") i'm sure there are male subs like myself, that think Your age and experience are in fact, a plus.  And besides...You're HAWTTT!!!

I do at times love to put My stuff out here as I do get sound advice and smacks upside the head when needed--you make a good point bobi--I think I felt extremely guilty that I had deceived initially--THAT ate Me up as I pride Myself on being very upfront--and then to have My viability come into question--was like this "excuuuuseeee Me?" moment--and I felt a tad knocked off balance, we never seem to think of these things until someone brings it up.

LadyPact -> RE: Am I too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 7:07:01 AM)

Hello LadyH.  I think we touched on this on a similar thread.  The one on disabilities, I believe it was, but I'll make the comment here again.

I completely understand where these thoughts come from.  I've had them Myself and wondered at what age I should hang this all up.  One has to wonder if age is a factor.  I've even had discussions with My husband if it should be as low as 40.  To be very frank, he told Me that idea was thoroughly bullshit.  Why would I be any less of a Dominant six months from now than I am today?

No, I may not be the first choice of every boytoy who's superficial scan of profiles are only focused on the physical or the number.  So what?  I'd rather have quality, rather than quantity any day.  The only true failure, is when you've given up.

LadyJeelys -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 7:07:43 AM)

I don't think there is a "too" old. I seem to get the most interest from guys a bit, ok quite a bit, younger than I am. I just think the bottomline is that just being Domme truly doesn't mean there are a bizillion guys out there for us.

And frankly, while I know some guys really like younger Dommes because it give them a feeling of surrendering control to someone who seemingly doesn't merit it, do you really want the kind of guy who picks Dommes based on a number? By that I mean, is your personality such that you would mesh with that kind of personality? If so, then, hmmmm, I don't know how you'd fix that. But if not, then its just like with any other personality clash---wouldn't work, so why worry?

MissSCD -> RE: Am I too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 7:15:59 AM)

LadyHathor:

I am 48, but I have a slave.  There are always subbies and slaves looking.
I find most wise dominants to be in their 60s.
To thine own self be true, and the rest will come to you.  So what, you lied.
Someone will come around appreciate you for you.  Just keep right on going.

Best wishes to you.

Regards, MissSCD

LadyRainfire -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 7:16:47 AM)

LadyHathor, I don't see where age should be an issue, especially where you are apparently in excellent shape and health. LOL... Yes, I looked at your profile so that I could hopefully make a coherent reply and not just random mouthing of polite words. It's frustrating when we start reaching a certain age and certain things start being questioned (the one that drives me batty is my sex drive!) and or if we are physically capable. Personally, when issues have come up for me such as illnese or injury, I have backed off to heal rather than be looking while unable to participate.

If someone is making such an issue of your age, perhaps some probing questions as to why it matters to them?  "May I ask why it seems to bother you?" "Did you have something in mind?" That's if you can. If they're shutting down comminication with you once they learn your age, then I think they're losers and idiots. I've been reading your posts in the forums and had this image of a strong, sexy, intelligent Domina, and now that I see your profile, I see I was right! [:)]

Lady Hathor,

You are very youthful in your age and appearance.  56 is not old by any means.  When you reach 110, then we can talk about old.  However, I did notice in your profile that you cut off slaves at an age younger than yours.  Some would call that Karma.  Is a slave that is 56 too old to be a slave in  your eyes?

Rule -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 7:25:19 AM)

You look good.

I looked at your profile.
I think it is best if you remove the "I changed my age"-text after a couple of weeks. As an announcement it will do, but ultimately it detracts.

You are aging and that necessitates a rethink of yourself.

You are a respected forum member. I seem to have a positive association with your nick.

Simply go out into town and grab some guy that you fancy.

ahhh yes, My Dear you make a valid point--the goose and the gander scenario--ugh I am so human sometimes, and will address that in My soul search--
