You know, that's a very valuable point.  When you look around you to the Dommes you respect, who do you see?

DominaJayde -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/2/2008 8:28:38 PM)

As a sort of side-note, I was in contact with a great submissive boy, who happens to be almost 52, unfortunately I couldn't give him what he needed, but I did ask some friends of mine closer to where he lived to nose about for prospective Dommes for him to meet and for them to get to know him, but without fail, no matter what his good points, his willingness, his qualities, what he had to offer, they all said he was too old to be a good submissive, personally I found that highly offensive, I was offended for him, he, he was just resigned, said he'd come up agaisnt that attitude plenty of times before.

Yes I know people have preferences, but to arbitarily consign someone to the scrapheap without even trying to see if he has qualities you might appreciate, that really gets me PO'ed.

I'm 51 & it's posted on my website. I don't get many replies to my posting & often wonder if it has to do with my age. That's a shame, because I'm still having WAY more fun than the law ought to allow!

This must have been posted while i was off or away.Lady Hathor, please don't beat yourself up over this.Whatever your reason was for posting a younger age,you have come to realize your mistake in doing so and now have admitted to it.I see this as no different than a person asking forgiveness for a mistake they have made. You have started this thread with all sincerity and that is all that matters.Personally,i don't give a rats ass how old you are(although it may be helpful when picking out the bithday card). If one cannot look past age, body size, disability,ot even if your hair stands up in the back like Alfalfa's,the perhaps said person isn't worthy of yours or anyone else's attention. Now that you have come clean,be proud of what you have accomplished in life and of course who you are.And above all, never waiver in your desire in what you seek or believe in your heart. All things come out in the wash in the long run, even if you mix the colors with the whites....smiles.

chezzy52 -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 2:13:58 AM)

Almost forgot..Lady Hathor....since when do subs consider Dominas???I thought it was the other way around??As a sub the only thing i take into consideration is should idres my spaghetti with sauce or oil and garlic??Ok i do have an obsession over my hand postion when i am playing my favorite chord on the planet..that would be an Eminor and all chords derived from Eminor..7th's 9th's,11th's, 13th's blah blah blah..i guess it would help if told everyone the hand position is for guitar.Alright that ends our comic relief portion of the program.

LadyHathor -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 3:54:19 AM)

smiles, dear chezz---so good to see you chipper this morning--

IMHO the consideration must be bewteen both of them---submissives are not commodities like beef--nor are Dominants--remember My rule:

When you are under My control, you do not have the right to refuse My command, however, you always have the right to choose to be under My control.

My thanks to everyone for the advice, the laughter, the V8 smacks to the forehead---it is hard when one succumbs to being human, but we are after all--just that at times.

AS11 -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 4:11:26 AM)

I think before you wonder down this path of I am old you have to know something about aging. Allow mw to begin with the over 50 Iron Man, an exciting venture into endurance and physical strength and might I mention a time free from the encumbrance of working and the freedom to run away from your children or at least hid from them for an extended period of time. A time to willfully spend their inheritance. To climb that mountain you have always been in awe of or shoot those raging white waters and scale those majestic canyon walls. When others think of being old I think of breaking the mold, unfurling the sails, candle lit late night dinners at sea, dancing in the rain, and quietly setting beside a babbling brook in the high country listening to its symphony.  I am 50 retired five years ago and have never worked so hard at enjoying myself in all my life.

LadyHathor -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 4:31:21 AM)

AS11, how aptly put, wondering about age for Me is only in relation to finding a boy-which My esteemed colleagues and dear friends here have shown Me the error of My flawed thinking--smiles

In life, I too am enjoying so very much---still working a demanding job still at the top of My game--train and ride horses,  scooter with My UM---and revel in the magnificence of the Universe--each day is the best it can be--well ok yesterday had its poop--however....its the celebration that is so marvelous--

I had similar concerns when I joined / posted my profile.  So many people put “age constraints” on what they’re looking for, I opted for a bit of a different, um, strategy.

I decided not to post my real age.  But rather than post an age deviating a little - “I speak of a few years more--age”, I figured I’d post an outrageous age with a current picture and just let them decide.

From my pic, it’s pretty obvious that I’m in my fifties – heh, not 89.  I’m just not specific.

No, not totally honest but the “outrageousness” of an age of “89” with a pic kind of seems to skirt the “sneakiness” issue that might be perceived with a slightly younger age.

I know, I know…. rationalization but what the hell…..like you, I run circles around most twenty years younger.  Shrugs – just my way of dealing with your very real concern after posting your real age - “My emails have slowed to a crawl”
It damn sure happens and it seems it’s a concern for a lot of folks -  see post # 61, Domina Jayde “they all said he was too old to be a good submissive”.

Hey! Thanks for starting my day off with a laugh ..” all the class of a gutter rat—“

petpete -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 4:57:17 AM)

i think the site allows of members up to 99 years old.. Correct me if i'm wrong.

petpete -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 5:10:34 AM)

On a serious note i once made friends with this very charming gentleman who was on this site and local fellow sub. When i saw his picture and checked out his profile it stated that he was well in his 60's but the gentleman the way he looked could put down members that where 20 years his younger. Still to my poor and discriminant judgement i thought he would never meet anyone as he did sound a little out of touch (to my poor understanding). as i was following up of how my friend is going one day and within a couple of months from being on the site, to my surprise i saw the sign "collared" and happily stating that he has been found and now being collared!! i don't think age is a barrier for anyone and no one should ever feel "over the hill".

mnottertail -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 5:33:54 AM)

The definitive answer for me is that when they are patting you in the face with a spade.

Some women die in youth....too old at that point, for their situation.
Some women die in middle age...too old at that point, for their situation.
Some women live long in years, and die...too old at that point, for their situation.

Once you have given up the ghost, that pretty much is an indication that you should quietly float into reverential status, making a hole for some other up and coming dominant.

LadyAyla7053 -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 5:53:48 AM)

Hello Lady Hathor,
Personally I don't think a person is ever too old for consideration. I'm nearing 33 and I have been in the lifestyle for over ten years now. The people that I have associated with for the most part have always been chronologically older than I am. So don't let it get to you, a very dear friend of mine is over 60 and has been in the lifestyle for over 40 years I think. So just keep your head up and eyes alert and you will find your submissive/slave one day and for any of those submissives/slaves that turn away. Well you didn't want them anyway. Merry Meet, Merry Part and Merry Meet again.

Bright Blessings,
Lady Ayla

YesMistressIrish -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 9:51:38 AM)

*Pulls out a nice heavy paddle and spanks that Dynomar ass till it's a beautiful shade of pink*

You're too old if..................

You've stopped breathing!  [:D]

If anyone cannot handle your real age they're not the sub for you .imo.

Pink! Another whimpy Irish woman. Instead of those Irish spuds you should eat some great Idaho potatoes.

johnnyak -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 11:24:45 AM)

well as a 23 year old sub i would hope that slaves are judged on their individual merit rather than age.But thats just me being an idealist! Age will always be a factor it seems

Dnomyar -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 11:42:20 AM)

johnny this is an old peoples post. If you doubt me ask them.

tasha_tart -> RE: When is one too old for consideration? (3/3/2008 6:37:35 PM)

Lady Hathor

First off, if I may say so, you look great.

Secondly, I'm not going to trot out "age is only a number" and "you're only as old as you feel".  While there is truth to them, age does matter to some people.  If that number is a deal-breaker for someone, so be it.  It is their limit.  It isn't a reflection on you.

I suppose one could falsify his or her age to try to attract more notice, but that is such a fundamental thing about a person that any potential relationship is based on a lie.

I'm sure there are potential subs who would value you for your experience and vitality, and not worry about your birth certificate.  When one of them finds his way to your profile, he won't be lost in the background of the age-phobic.

Tasha

IMHO, it's best to be honest about yourself.  It may reduce the volume in your inbox, but your self-respect and integrity will be intact.
