I don't think I'm hostile most of the time. Actually, he pretty much hit the nail on the head.

There's a difference between championing and simply giving your opinion when you see someone post something you think is incorrect.

This though is a perfect example of prejudice - you're assuming, based on prior experience that I am going to be just like some other person, and prejudging my words and intent based on that. The only person who knows intent beyond all shadow of doubt, is me. Now being an honest fellow, I'm upfront about it and openly communicating. If you choose not to take my words at face value, and instead color them with your own assumptions and prejudices, and then get angry and upset at some perceived attack, how is that my fault?

Personally, I thought the question was a rather good one, and I was curious about the different perspectives. Unfortunately, what happened with this thread, happens with a lot of others. It's disappointing at times.

You're not the only one who gets irritated and exasperated either. Mine is moreso from finding nuggets of something other than gold here. I come and go as I please when strangers here irritate me. A message board isn't worth getting a headache over :-)

Not to reopen what has been, at times, a difficult debate.

When bouncing around the forums yesterday, I came across a thread in the "Master" section that began a rather good discussion. It wasn't especially on what the OP had hoped, but the subsequent issue became more interesting. This actually prompted Me to repost a part of the thread, so that I could ask a question in the Gorean forum.

I do have to say that I was pleased with the result. I felt that My quesiton, and Myself, were treated with courtesy, even though I made it readily apparent that I very specifically was an outsider. There were no snarky comments that I didn't belong there. No disrespect for being such a twit that I couldn't figure the answer out for Myself. No one attempted to treat Me more or less than I would have been treated on any other forum. I came away with some good information.

I think as long as you go into any forum without trying to stir the pot, any questions are normally well received. That said there will always be a few " This is our forum " types.

Maybe the worst forum for adverse comments is off topic, not that that worries me. I am admin for a sports forum and that gets all the problems between users that you see here. i guess its just the nature of the beast.

I agree, and I think that a thread posted by a polite male dominant who has an honest question and wants female dominant input would always be very welcome here. The problem is not people who come here with an honest interest in the "Mistress" viewpoint, have an honest desire for information, or even people who have a simple opinion on a topic of general interest. The problem is people who come here to "straighten out" and "correct" female dominants or male submissives when they express their opinions or discuss their experiences, or who come specifically looking for a fight--i.e., trolling posts.

Men who come here to "open our minds", tell us we're "fucked up", talk down to us, tell us what to do, dictate their worldview, condemn us, project their fears onto us or simply be rude and abusive? I think we can all live without. Call me crazy, but I don't consider it "territorial" to reject that sort of thing.

Like it or not, this board is divided into topics of interest; the Mistress forum is for female dominants. If a man can't emotionally cope with women who are not inclined to obey him or parrot his views, probably not a great place for him to be.
