Look around.

Bush isn't the only asshole in power.  He's fucked up Iraq, and both parties in Congress fucked up US civil rights with the UnPatriot Act, but he's not the only asshole out there.  There's bin Laden, there's Putin, there's the Chinese, there's Kim Jong-Il....in the pantheon of corrupt leaders Bush has several unworthy colleagues.

As for Iraq, Hillary voted to send the troops in and Obama voted to deny them funding.  Charming pair those two.

That is the way to end the war...By not funding the troops it is all that was left as a way to bring the fuckfest to an end.

It is rather sad that you require to have this explained to you.

Sadder still that any politician will cavalierly sacrifice troops and lives.  If the Democrats wanted to bring the troops home THAT badly, they could pass a resolution compelling the President to do just that.  Such a resolution has never been even introduced.  Instead, Congress plays ticky-tack politics whose results are spelled out in real human blood, real human suffering.

Leaving soldiers in harms way without funding resources to support them is not noble, it's craven and cowardly.  Craven and cowardly described John Kerry perfectly in '04, and it describes Obama perfectly in '08.

Ridiculous....Putting them in harms way to begin with was the mistake...The Dems hands are tied. It is the same bullshit that people drag out when saying that so and so voted for the war. The vote was based upon faulty intel...It's a fucking free pass.

Only a weak minded individual, who believes the propaganda, would follow the logic that by not funding the troops is equal to not supporting them. It is entirely to the contrary. But again the Dems caved because they knew that a vote to cut the funds for the war would be spun by the conservatives as a vote of "no support" and agreed to by those without enough intelligence to see through the bullshit.

I can tell when someone is beyond help when they make the argument that a particular politician voted for the war or to cut funding...It is the type of person that is incapable of thinking outside of the box ...It took stones to vote against the war. Based upon what was known and the political climate of the time...It took serious strength and self determination to stick to your guns and beliefs that were directly in the face of public sentiment....Most politicians today don't have the guts to vote their conscience but allow their vote to be purchased or cast based solely upon public approval and what they perceive will bring them the most popularity.

These are tough concepts...You should work on them individually and at a slow pace. Many people on the right have had aneurysms, strokes and T.I.A's if they attempt to understand this type of shit all at once.

I agree with that first statement wholeheartedly.  However, there are no free passes in politics.  Whether it was based on faulty intel or not, the vote was undeniably to send troops into harms way.  Hillary Clinton cast such a vote.  Whether the reason for their being in Iraq is right or wrong, the troops are unquestionably in Iraq, and unquestionably in harm's way.

Using funding votes to play politics to "force" their withdrawal is playing politics with soldier's lives.  There is the unalterable reality of things.

If the Democrats want to bring the troops home, let them enact a resolution to compel the President to do just that.  Let Obama campaign by saying he will bring the troops home immediately.  But if the troops cannot come home, for whatever reason, let us make double damn sure they have everything they possibly need to avoid getting dead.

heres a hint Domiguy: support the troops not the war. You can still fund us and ensure a withdrawl. If you dont fund us, when we do get home, your the one we are going to come for.

The vast majority of the money earmarked for "the troops" was actually going to civilian companies rebuilding Iraq. The troops are paid, fed and armed out of the defense department's budget. Anyone claiming this vote would deny the troops anything, is blowing smoke. Please, when you spin, at least make a half-hearted attempt to make it pass the laugh test.

General comment, by the way.

Praise the goddess that it is.

Besides if they want to "fuck" each other maybe they will be nicer to each other while they work together.

The troops are there and Saddam is dead.  These two facts are undeniable and unalterable.

The United States must either engage in a serious and deliberate exercise of nationbuilding (which I do not believe has been the case to date), or must remove itself from the stage and let the various factions within Iraq fight the civil war they apparently desire on at least some level.

My solution would be for the Congress to debate the selection of one of these two paths--perhaps even to make it a national binding referendum, and then fund to the hilt whichever solution was chosen.  Pushing such a resolution would be the Presidential thing to do.

Absent democratic process, if it were left to me, I would pursue the deliberate nation building course.  A civil war would be a bloody, chaotic mess and likely would create yet another generation of problems in the Middle East

Both paths have perils and promises.  Either path, however, is less dangerous than stumbling along without a clear direction.

Bt virtue of her being female she works her ass off? By virtue of him being male he does not work? If a male were to say something in reverse, everyone would be all over it. Something very fucking wrong here when someone's gender gets them votes, whether it is male or female.

Yes with Obama getting the glory, while Clinton does the work. As is the case in most things where the woman works her ass off.

Surely folks realise that a lot of Obama's votes are anti-Clinton votes? That Republicans are voting in Democratic primaries to prevent Clinton from getting too near the presidency?

An Obama/Clinton ticket would be horrible ... and ill-advised on his part.

I think Clinton definitely ought to receive a Cabinet post of some sort, however.

Personally, I'd rather see Obama for president with Edwards for his sidekick. Edwards has his wife for the sympathy angle. No way you can feel sorry for a gash like hillary, even if her husband fucked two other chicks that were 'debatably' uglier than she is.

The right is doing gods work.  severred heads, severred hands, severred legs- is for the glory of god [sic]  and the building of empire.

the enemy is from with in.

if the war is good rightious- then those who want it- should go do it with their own dime and their own time and leave the rest of us out of it.

war is good for business.

you cant have it both ways. we bring good things to iraq- and they cant possibly get along with out us- AND they arent like us so deserve to have their woman raped and children slaughterred.

get real.    we are evil. i hate us. this isnt acceptable.

wage the fight on your own dime.  war is evil and we have let this happen.

ShAME on us.   we will burn in hell for this butchery that we mete out to the globe.

Hopefully Obama will win  and the constitution will be restored.

the right has no idea that the same force they ballyhoo will fry their own people at the drop of a hat.

the golden rule says we are our brothers keeper, and treat others as you want to be treated. do not covet thy neighbor oxen ass or wife or oil!

this congressional masterbatiuon of what is and is not a war is vomitous,

look into the eyes of those suffering-  [iraq]YOU did this.   if that makes you feel good- then you are a monster.

Obama says he won't take the Veep slot.

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/03/obama-you-wont.html

I keep hearing that smug, "we'll all be together in November" line from Hillary.  I think this is Barry telling her it's going to be expensive.

Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton
is probably the way the Dems will HAVE to go.

The question is....

Who will be on top?
