It is almost a done deal.  My slave and I really have issues with this.
For some reason, he thinks he is a republican.
He says the reason he is going to vote for McCain over Hillary and Obama is that McCain has more experience than they do.
He also goes on to say they are all three idiots.   I tell him he is picking the experienced idiot then.  I think the real problem with all three is simply they are all liberal.  You don't have to quote me on that, but you can.  I will be voting for Obama/Clinton verses another four years of war.

I mean the figure head is immaterial when you consider who pulls the strings in this country.

and we havent hit bottom.

Oh please, can we drop the conspiracy-theory nonsense?

There is no Illuminati or Tammany Hall pulling strings on a national level.  Arguing that there is gives the likes of Dubya both too much credit and too little.

so do you want more of the same or a new direction?

campaigne money isnt given w/o something expected in return.  the prez has little difference locally to me.  the state has alot more impact on day to day -  PA is one of the better run states. I split my ticket routinely as to what I think will work.

But you do raise a point- in that I can be too smart for my own good. As mom always says choose your battles carefully.  So- rather then post here I ought to get my azz in gear and submt the PA DEP form suggesting ban of burn barrels.

Ya- spinning my wheels isnt productive- I give you that [point]

I find it amusing that her initial olive branches to Obama are "We can be a combined ticket if I am on top, despite my trailing you in both the popular vote AND number of delegates."

I agree with you here, I almost fell out when Senator Clinton suggested it with such a casual air ... it's just so her.

I will say that I'm a bit less interested in the popular vote or number of delegates, mostly due to the role money plays in gaining each one in a primary election. I choose to think of it like a task that needs to be accomplished. If neither of these candidates reaches the magic number, then neither accomplished the task. For anyone to claim a mandate, or will of the voter ... well, the will of the voter is expressed in making it to the winning number.

If you fall short, you have no mandate, and the will of the voter has not been decided.

At that point, it's time to look at other factors, which is the role of the supers.

What I want is a winning lottery ticket and my very own island where I can keep my slave and live in peace.  Everything short of that is a necessary compromise.

Good point.  We all have 24 hours in a day.  So how best to achieve the happiness you seek.

So the deal is which course of action will get you there?    A lottery ticket wont work.  So from a strategy to go after your goals.  Forclosures are up, people move on and liquidate their assets;   so if you want an island a certain type of real estate- check websites to see what the market is.

As far as a slave- I cant help you there.  One cant  "make" anyone do anything- at least for very long.

I scored alot of neat things simpy by keeping my eye open.

I'm not an Obama fan either, but I don't see his statements as cocky.  As I noted several posts back, he has the momentum and the upper hand there is no reason for him to take a back seat right now.  I agree with you on Florida, it's hard to say about Michigan since he withdrew his name from the ballot.  However, the situation is what it is and those states are a huge cluster fuck for the DNC.

I think you can forget about this ticket ever happening.  First of all, I believe there is genuine hatred between these 2 candidates, with Hilary showing just what a manipulative b*tch she is, and there is no way that Obama will want to tie himself to her in any way   I mean let us remember that he is only 46, so even if he lost, him running for office later on down the line is very much a possibility.  Connecting himself with a figure as polarizing as Hilary would be political suicide.

While I try to be respectful of other's opinion, I cannot imagine how anyone could want Hilary as President, and it makes me wonder if people know anything about her at all.  I  mean how can you trust her in the least??  Can people not remember back to the 90s and remember Whitewater, or Travelgate or Filegate?  I mean before she was ever in an elected position she was already wrapped up into 3 major controversies (serisiously, if you don't know these, go to wikipedia or something and look them up)!  And lets also not forget that it was the Clintons who wanted all the glory for NAFTA when they signed it into law, which cost people in Ohio (and other places) thousands of  jobs (including my father's job at a steel factory), yet she loved to talk about how much she opposed NAFTA when she was in Ohio.  And the way she recently came out about how she and Obama should be a ticket together is a great example of what a con artist she is (I believe a write on CNN equated her with a someone trying to sell a house that wasn't even hers).  Here she likes to slam Obama and say how he lacks experience, yet she would be willing to make him her #2?  That doesn't make much sense to me.  I have plenty more, but I am going to stop now, though I have a feeling i will have to post again to retort someone's defense of Hilary.
