I was trained as a soldier, and it was impressed upon me as a soldier if I kill, then it is a clean kill, no ifs no buts, if I am being attacked, then kill but be clean, purely to eliminate the threat. Clean as in a clean kill, no torture, lingering death or whatever, be humane.No where in my training was the idea that I could torture animals, and scruffing an infant animal and throwing it,I would run the risk of court marshall, as animals are not a threat, not only that, but .it would put question marks on my sanity

i would never label You as sick kittnSol .....i have worked in women's shelters, animal shelters, and have been a Guardian Ad Litem ..... very possibly is my perspective that is askew. Although there is a rather dull point that said animal is indeed just a dog, does not mean it has less value then a human ...... that is my humble lil opinion.

I think it's immaterial whether it's worse to be cruel to an animal or to a human being... both suck. No creature should be tortured for the pleasure of another (though to say this on a BDSM board may make some people quake). Point is, it's just plain wrong. I still think there's a correlation between wartime and what it does to people. War makes people act like beasts. It unleashes terrible pulsions of death.

And yet, those of you who eat processed meat are guilty of enabling animal cruelty. Those neat little packages you buy in supermakets came from the suffering and death of animals. But you scream bloody murder when a "pet animal" is killed. Astounding.

US armed forces are contributing to the body count. Humans are assumed to be able to defend themselves, generally speaking. A puppy? not so much. And I tend to agree with KS that in a combat situation, sometimes people may do things that they never would have imagined prior to the combat.. stress can do really fucked up stuff to ya. ... And no... obviously, I do NOT condone what this guy did, and I agree as someone else said that he should be punished (along with those that stood by and watched).
