i do Pug rescue and i have seen some horrid things with puppymills and backyard breeders and so on. But this really hurt me so badly that i really cannot stop crying and i have an incredible rage right now. What drives a person to behave in such a way that they would do something like this? Would he do it to a child? It sickens me and he should be put down, drawn and quartered by the use of 4 Jeeps. People like him are a plague upon humanity.
i am seriously irritated by this now. Is there a petition or something to get this bastard strung up and hung?
Sorry for the rant.

Whoa!  Back the fuck up there!  For all we know the dog had just bitten someone or the motherfucker was rabid!  It was a fucking dog for chrissakes.  We have people starving in America, and none of you offer food - but you are ready to draw and quarter a guy for killing a dog?  I think everyone that is incensed about this poor stray needs to get a reality check.  People are more important than animals - or they should be.  If you say people are not more important, then we need to vote on some healthy euthanasia laws to cull the sick fucks out of the gene pool and I expect every one of you bleeding hearts to vote yes on the proposition.  If people ARE more important, then those of you bitching about the animal abuse need to get down to the homeless shelter and offer some assistance - and don't forget to take some food with you.

We didn't become the dominant race on the planet by holding hands and eating tofu.

Belladonna30 -> RE: Marines and a puppy (3/5/2008 8:47:34 PM)

i lose my faith in people more and more when i see this kind of shit happen. i also lose more and more regard for human life. Honestly, if worse came to worse and i had to either eat my dogs or the next door neighbor, the neighbor will be grilled and the dogs and i will eat like kings. Call me a nut, it wouldnt be the first time, lol.

Nod... if that's what he did to a puppy, I shudder to think what he'd do to a human being. It's abhorrent, and war makes people do disgusting things they probably wouldn't do otherwise.

Although what he did was cruel to the puppy (if this actually is a video that hasn't been doctored), I want the cruel ones in the service defending the US.

Wow... all the "ex-marines" on here tell us they're trained to not exert cruelty anywhere... I hope your wish isn't a template for those that train the soldiers.

Belladonna30 -> RE: Marines and a puppy (3/5/2008 8:55:32 PM)

Ok first off, most bums and the like CHOOSE to be that way, a certain percent of them dont and they put forth effort to get back into society, however, most don't for whatever reason (drugs, booze, laziness and so on). Pan handlers make a far better salary than that of most people as its tax free and many are college educated that could easily obtain employment, they just dont want to. Many a expose have been done on it via Dateline and a few others. So hell NO i will not go and assist someone who makes his living begging from others or taking advantage of the system. Bullshit. i dont think so, sorry. i work with the public and they irritate me to no end with thier idiocy. Now, see my last post regarding who is gonna eat with me, the dogs or the neighbor??

Perhaps you can explain how one is more important then the other?

You are right - it probably would have been applauded by 2 or 3 billion people if he had chucked a certain leader of the free world over the edge.

wha?  you mean the leader of mexico or france?  or is it the leader of walmart or peta?  the leader of purina? the leader of tyson meats? oh wait, i know! it's the leader of lego waffles!  heh, i knew it all along....(i just know there is conspiracy out there against waffles, and don't even get me started on pork rinds!)

-the leader of inclusion of all animals, humans, aliens, bigfoots, grandmother look- a-likes, nessies, and those who have all lengths of tails, (even the big, green scaley prehensile kinds)...oh, and those who love waffles too.

kittin... you should get to know a few DI's...I was in a survival class in boot camp where a DI took this cute little rabbit... broke its neck... skinned it...threw the guts at recruits.. then turned the skin into footwear then gloves.

As we were marching away he reached into the cage for another cutie of a bunny for the next class.

Of course they are trained that way - but this video was taken out of context.  Seventeen seconds of "omygod!" and there is no way we know what happened before it to say why he did it.  In true CM style, however, everyone jumps to conclusions and wishes the soldier dead.  How the heck did a puppy appear out of nowhere?  I doubt the Marine carried him for miles just hoping to be near a cliff sometime to throw him over it.  Maybe if the puppy's owner and mother had been killed, and the pup would have starved to death?  Would that have been more humane to let the little fucker die in the Iraqi desert heat from starvation?  None of you thought of THAT, I bet!  Maybe killing the dog was the best thing for it.  We NEVER put animals down in the USA - every one is adopted by loving, caring, people, right?  What?  Some get KILLED?  OMG!  Every shelter needs to be shut down because they kill dogs!  How do we know they do it humanely?  I bet some save money and kill the animals by "other" means - but they just don't videotape it.  Get a clue people.  Cruel things happen.

And in a firefight, I want the cruel motherfuckers like this guy - that shoot to kill - next to me.

kittinSol -> RE: Marines and a puppy (3/5/2008 9:04:03 PM)

Thing is, I probably agree with most of what you said. There's a Hallmark's sentimentality attached to a puppy you don't see in a victim of bombings. Hell, the bombing victim could be a spawn of "the enemy". I find sentimentality (misplaced concerned, fucked up compassion) really disturbing, actually.

The man on that video is still in need of work.

Invictus...it could also have been staged by anti-war nuts for all we know...I think the whole thing smells a little fishy myself. In any event it is not the Corps that is at fault... it is a sick-o

In my origanal post I had added "(if this actually is a video that hasn't been doctored)"  because it seemed a little too convenient you could hear the dog landing.  That far away, I doubt if you would have heard it.  You are correct - this could be something that was created for anti-war use.

That is one of the biggest urban myths to ever come out.  It's total bullshit.  I don't know when you looked at the price of dog food or any pet food, but it's not cheap.  If there are old people eating pet food, it's not because they are poor.  It's because they are losing their minds.

dont worry about the pertition, the USMC will probably do worse to him then you would. after all, it has an image to keep, and when ever we fuck up the media jumps all over it. but it is well deserved, considering the level of professionalism we are supposed to maintain and uphold

theleatherist: hes not a soldier. hes a marine, and not for long either.

thickerdenwater:
Not likely...the worst that they can pop him for is  "conduct unbecoming" most likely he will get NJP which means that they will probably pull his liberty card and not let him reenlist.  On second thought given the shortage of warm bodies willing to play in George's sand box they will probably just pull his liberty card and take his camera away.

I get that, KS... I just fail to see how Leatherist apparently concludes that those of us horrified by that video are any less horrified by the death of non-combatants...

Because he's a US soldier.

Who is? You?

Regardless of the answer, how do you feel qualified to determine what I - or anyone but yourself - feel about these matters? When did you take up residence in my head and heart?
I say again.. the subject of this thread was the video, which is about a puppy.. not humans.  Most of us are reacting to that.  Had it been a video of a person doing the same thing to another person, the outrage would certainly not be less than what is being expressed here.

Dog food (the cheap stuff) is .29cents a fifteen ounce can.  Beans are .59cents a 16 ounce can.  Them old fuckers may be loosing their minds(maybe it is from eating dog food) but they can still do arithmetic.

1. Warriors do not wage war on innocents and noncombatants.
2. Lose the font size. It's passe and adds nothing to your discourse.
