Yes, this is a BDSM website and obviously I am submissive in my tastes. But I work my ass off, and I am still a man. I need about an hour to myself when I come home. I need to go to the bathroom, I need a a beer, I need to zone out for awhile.... I don't need to hear bitching or demands the minute I walk in the door. I am a fair guy. I don't mind doing housework (althought I hate doing dishes), I don't mind letting the woman take care of the money. But give me a small break at the end of the day.

If a woman works, I want her to join me in loafing for an hour or two. The housework can wait. It doesn't need to be all done the minute we get home. If the woman has UM's, then they had better be contributing. I had to do chores, so should they.

Agreeing with the majority of this statement makes me oh-so-glad I'm a Dominant. She who greets me at the door with a list of "honey-do's" gets a gag inserted in her mouth whilst I relax after work.

'où est la bibliothèque' That is the only French my French teacher taught me and it is highly useful if you are in France and can't speak French.

That's very true, and I'm the first to agree that it does everybody some good to relax about housework.

HOWEVER I draw the line at nail clippings left to spike the floor; and pubes lying all over the bathtub for my delight, when I'm next in line for a bath

. I read somewhere that men's brains aren't wired to see the pesky details of domestic drugdgery; I say, how convenient.

You can, but it's not a set expression like "have a good trip" - in the usage above, it's more suited for describing a good experience with some powerful hallucinogenics.

I have read the same thing about our "brain wiring." It's bullshit. I hate living in filth. I have dated women that insist on using a towel 2 or three times before tossing it in the hamper. Well, that disgusts me. I need fresh towels, and I don't mind doing them. I don't mind any housework besides dishes. I had to wash dishes at a restaurant when I was in my twenties for an asshole boss, so I sort of hate it now.

I space out my work. I don't do it all in one spree, than colapse on the sofa at 9 at night. I just don't see the point in that.

See, that's the way I do it. Once I start, I can't stop lol. No half measures - but it's more a personality trait than anything... And I fucking HATE housework with a vengeance. The only thing I don't mind is ironing, because it's a zen activity (don't ask).

As for the towels... wow. If only more men thought like you do

Hmm...I'm an independent type, so I get off my ass to clean because I dislike the mess, not for coital journies. My girl would prefer to do the housework, and was good enough to insist that the kitchen was her domain only...followed with an appropriate, "Please?"

I doubt I'll have to take the garbage out to get any.

I think that's really cool; like I said, men who share the domestic drudgery have grown-up, whether those who don't are... less... matooore. I won't go into the slobbish chicks debate here, because that's worthy of another thread entirely, but when I was at college, it took us a while to convince a landlord to rent out to us: he preferred renting to guys, because he said they were tidier

(in these days, we were too busy rolling up to pick up a broomstick).

No seriously, I do all the outside stuff, even go start the car so they can go out and it be warm and ready to drive. Move all the snow before she steps outside. Mow the lawn, and stuff. Move heavy things. Deal with the garbage. Maintain the Garden. And do very little inside/detail cleaning.

If mine had helped out doing housework and taking care of our child our lives would have been so much better. I worked longer hours than he did and yet he felt it was ok to just sit in front of the pc at night playing games, while I did the cooking, the housework etc. When he said he wouldnt pick our daughter up from daycare because "men don't do that" I said pack your things its time for you to move out. It was the best decision of my life.

It's true! That little leg that's missing off the "Y" chromosome carries a couple bits that are supposed to connect to the optic nerve... without them, the 450,000 shades of paint between "white" and "beige" all look exactly the same, and furniture with this mythical "dust" substance on it looks exactly the same as furniture without it. Try wearing dark sunglasses in the house; it works in much the same way
