If mine had helped out doing housework and taking care of our child our lives would have been so much better. I worked longer hours than he did and yet he felt it was ok to just sit in front of the pc at night playing games, while I did the cooking, the housework etc. When he said he wouldnt pick our daughter up from daycare because "men don't do that" I said pack your things its time for you to move out. It was the best decision of my life.

Good for you.  I hate lazy pricks.

Flip side again though, men learn that shit from misguided mothers......My last serious gal pal had two sons.  The oldest was generously offered a chance to do some yardwork for a fellow down the road (13 at the time).  He agreed, and went down to do the work.  The old guy had him digging up sod in a part of his property and laying it in another.  The kid managed an hour before he started griping.  The old guy was goofing around with him and called him a "pussy."  He came crying home to mama.  I tried to lecture him about the importance of finishing what you started, and learning to take criticism.  *sighs*  Guess what I had to hear for the rest of the night when I agreed that he was being a pussy?*

She wanted to coddle her little boy, and I understand that.  But when a man agrees to do a job, he finishes it.  In the mean old world, other men call you names like "pussy" all the time.  You shrug it off and do your job.  You take your pay, and look for something else.  It's an important life lesson for men to learn.  But, a lot of women don't want to hear that.  It's not an indictment on the sexes.  It's just an observation of mine.

Ron, you make me SO hot!

~~

My late cousin-in-law Alex was utterly Felix Unger---his house was immaculate.  You either see the dirt, or you don't.  In my house, we see the dirt.  When I hosted a doll meet a few weeks ago, I was apologizing, while my friends were describing the place as "freakishly spotless".   It helps if both partners have the same level of dirt-vision.

The second I get in the office, the whirlwind comes at me.  Same thing when I come home.  We would ALL love to have some time to chill out when we stagger in the door, but often that amount of rest is all it takes to pin me down to the couch for the evening and then when do things get done?  Everyone has to do their bit to deal with the environment we live in.

Slaveboy, I hear ya about kids getting coddled!  That kind of thing makes me nuts.  But, I don't think it's cool to have your kids verbally abused, either---I wouldn't want anyone I was raising to think it was okay to talk to people that way.  I would have made darn sure he went back to laying sod, though. I read somewhere that men's brains aren't wired to see the pesky details of domestic drugdgery; I say, how convenient.

It's true! That little leg that's missing off the "Y" chromosome carries a couple bits that are supposed to connect to the optic nerve... without them, the 450,000 shades of paint between "white" and "beige" all look exactly the same, and furniture with this mythical "dust" substance on it looks exactly the same as furniture without it. Try wearing dark sunglasses in the house; it works in much the same way [:)]

Huh huh [:D] .

More dishes, more kisses. Just sayin'.

Plus there's all that feather duster play. And who hasn't succumbed to the pleasures of the laundry mountain has not lived.

What a crock of shit.

I tried this once.

You know what it got me?

She went looking for an alpha-male.

And she found one.

The only "more sex" I got was with my right hand.

Pay attention boys.

kittinSol -> RE: "Men who do housework may get more sex" (3/7/2008 6:55:05 PM)

Take comfort in the fact that she had no taste. Alpha males suck; they come too fast, because they're too busy watching themselves fuck in the mirror.

Nothing like a beta with a mop on his head to make a girl swoon with desire [:)] .

Ah, c'mon Kittin...Be fucking honest and fair.  Women don't have a clue what they want.  They say they want the honest, clever, educated, sensitive type.  But, we see them walk off with the unemployed, tough-guy wanna be, moron, douchebag type all the time.  Years later; after having tons of kids with douchebags, these same women appear mysteriously on our doorsteps for a second chance.

Been there, done that.

Thank God for that beautiful word in the English language "No."

It is beautiful in it's simplicity.  However, I prefer...."Who are you?"

Tom Leykis says that the men in this situation should thank those women. Because everyone who walks away from one of the "honest, clever, educated, sensitive types" merely contributes to their overall success. When they return years later, we can smile and telll them "Sorry sweetie, but I'm now succesful enough that I can afford a newer, younger model. I have no need for you anymore."

It isn't about the newest, younger model.  I wish it was, but it isn't.  It's about unrequited love.  It's a theme that occurs in literature, song, and theater for all of written history.  It's horrible to be in love with someone that doesn't love you back.  I know this isn't an exclusive domain for males, but love is a horrible feeling when it isn't returned.  It is a feeling that is tolerable though.

What is almost intolerable, is the feeling of being loved and that love being betrayed.  It's almost unforgivable.  That is what I was talking about.  It has nothing to do with a bigger and better model.  The feeling never goes away, no matter how much you try.

Perhaps, but the point in Tom Leykis' speil was about how getting involved too early would have hampered his success and he'd not be where he is today if his high school unrequitted love had taken his invite to the prom. His other points are how 'many' women are like the ones he described and since they are only out for one thing, he makes no apology for being out for the one thing 'many guys' are said to be out for. At least, he says, he's honest about what he wants. And that's for her to leave just as soon as the sex is over.

Ahh, that provided a nice chuckle.

Yes, you've been around the block.   [;)]

slaveboyforyou -> RE: "Men who do housework may get more sex" (3/7/2008 8:52:28 PM)

I have never heard of Tom Leykis.  I had to look him up.  He's a talk radio host, right?  He tries to teach men how to score with women, which is stupid.  You can't teach people how to deal with other people.  You learn the skill of dealing with people, by actively dealing with PEOPLE.  You never get it right, but that is what is so fun about it.

Maybe I misled you in my post.  I am not bitter.  The situations I described have occured in my life, but I am glad they did.  I learned from them, ON MY OWN.  I don't need anyone to teach me things like that.  No one should ever listen to someone teach them about human interaction.  It's a con.  You learn life by living.  You learn humanity by being a human.

kinkbound -> RE: "Men who do housework may get more sex" (3/7/2008 8:58:41 PM)

It's all good.
