lol. apologizing for cumming...classic. my whole theory with little stuff is, God has bigger fish to fry than me.

Last I checked, wasn't god that does the frying.

I was raised southern baptist, my first cousins are catholic, my best friend in high school was mormon, another branch of my family is assembly of god, an ex-fiance was buddist, I have friends who are taoists,  and through much research soul searching and thought, I consider myself spiritul. One thing all the religions I named above (exemtping buddism, taosim, and spiritualism) has in common is the belief that their way is the only way which I think is a load of horse shit.

If that was the case then absolutely NO one is going anywhere but hell, and well *grins* Sounds like hell is going to be one hopping place.

Gwynvyd -> RE: Pope - "New 'sins'; more ways to go to hell!" (3/10/2008 12:46:49 PM)

*chuckles* I am glad you liked the "Buddy Christ" clip from Dogma...

When they picked Ratzinger I knew the church was in for going back a century in progressiveness.

Pope JP II was a little slow at progress but he was a happy touchy feelie nice Pope. ( esp. in comparasion ) I *knew* they were going to pick Ratzinger because they wanted to be more conservative. ( huge understatement)

Is it just me.... of does he just wear the masque of pure evil? JPII looked like your nice old Grandpa.. he smiles.. was kind.. hugged people.. ect.

This guy gives me the willies.

I am just sayin'.....

Also why in the heck does the Popemobil have to be a Mercedes-Benz?

*sighs* It really is pointless to argue with any of you. I believe I am going to heaven. I also believe that baptists, lutherans, mormons, jews, whatever are going to heaven. but of course, you remeber what your cousins told you 30 years ago, back when they were kids who only heard the words hell and giggled. have fun "worshipping" the earth or whatever it is you do.

That's kinda the point. Nearly every religion and branch thereof proclaims "Believe in *this* way" or you're going to hell."

Seems to me they are either ALL right....or ALL wrong.

Personally, I think it's all for one diety and he or she is shaking his or her head at what man has done to bastardize his original idea.

*LOL* Never mind, there gets to be a point where arguing with someone only pulls you down to their level. *L*

*edited to add*
(gotta love it when they edit their original statement to try to change the appearance of "guilt" hrmmmm yay another reason I can't stand organized religion)

The resemblance is outstanding.

I havent been to confession in years. so thats not an issue for me.

anyhow, I am done arguing with you. Like I said in my post you "quoted" it is a lost cause.

DS - Appreciate you being "done". However, you may want to start sinning. Failing to meet your obligation to go to to confession gets you a front row seat in hell anyway.

If you are going to defend or identify with a religion you should at least know basic dogma that your religious membership represents. Otherwise - you just sound silly. Knowledge is NOT a dangerous thing - its just knowledge.

I envy the faith and spiritual beliefs of people. None more so than beth, as spiritual and having more faith than most I've met. Turning that faith into an industry, especially one fundamentally hypocritical, is where I loose any faith in the religion or its organizers.

You present the "worst case". Lack of fundamental knowledge considering a different opinion not so much as a challenge but as an attack. If I prayed, I'd pray for your enlightenment. Representing myself as a follower of a religion and then not following one of the most basic of practices, participating in the sacrament of confession, speaks to they core of hypocrisy I so detest.

Maybe as a show of faith you should pray for me and dedicate a novena to St Jude. In case he wasn't covered in your 'cliff notes' catechism version; St Jude is the patron Saint of "lost causes".

Pax vobiscum. (Peace be with you!)

Why not simply name them "catholites"? It's easier on the tongue.

I thought Catholic Lite were the Presbyterian's ( church USA) and the Episcopal's..... *smiles*

Did you know the Pres. Do not even do the Catholic Aerobics? They come *to* you for the Holy Communion! Laaaazy people. Sheesh. But no long lines that way.. so hey. ( My Partner's mum is Pres. we went durring Christmas. ) Her mum didnt like my laaaaazy Catholic lite comment. LOL

That Holy Communion... talk about magic tricks or what? A crumb of bread and hey presto! It turns into a bit of human flesh. I won't even mention the wine and the haemoglobine... oops too late, I already did. Yes it's... spooky. But what inspiration for horror movies makers!

DominorSomnium -> RE: Pope - "New 'sins'; more ways to go to hell!" (3/10/2008 1:06:01 PM)

spindorsa, I edited it because I read it wrong. not our of "guilt". Good day

Gwynvyd -> RE: Pope - "New 'sins'; more ways to go to hell!" (3/10/2008 1:14:55 PM)

To each thier own....

I do not care what others believe... I just hope that they *do* believe.

It is so rare these days. What with spiritual leaders buggering boys, or running off with hookers, or thier mistress.... doing drugs... being beligerant to thier community. Not following the tenets of thier faith ( be what ever that is).. being bought and sold by the highest bidder.

I like to think for myself.. and explore my own spirituality and my own path... that's why I went with UU. http://www.uua.org/visitors/index.shtml No silly Dogma's of "You or *anyone* is going to hell" kinda crap.

So many out there rule and lead by fear.... those who have enough within them will not be ruled by that and simply do not buy into it.

The way I learned about sin from my mum was if I did some thing.. and I felt guilty about it... it was prob. a sin.. and I should examine why I did that thing.. knowing it would make me and potentialy others feel bad. Not bad advice.

I wish you all well on what ever path you chose to follow.

Gwyn

Gwynvyd, I always thought that Lutherins were "Catholic Lite."
They're about the "closest" to the Catholic church in their beliefs and practices I think.
Hey! I should start my own church!
"Popeye's Church, Masturbate & Fuck all you want and don't go to hell!"

The "Papamobil" was a gift to JP II made by Daimler Chrysler.

Gwynvyd -> RE: Pope - "New 'sins'; more ways to go to hell!" (3/10/2008 1:21:45 PM)

well that was nice of them.

I wondered who footed the bill for that....

Thanks for the info.

Ahasver -> RE: Pope - "New 'sins'; more ways to go to hell!" (3/10/2008 1:31:51 PM)

To be more precise, Daimler Chrysler donated a car of this type, it's estimated there are 40-60 popemobiles all over the world build for example by GM, Fiat or even Daimler Chrysler. By the way the Mercedes costs something around 300.000-400.000€.

Very well - A blessing for you:
"Misereatur vestri omnipotens Deus, et dimissis peccatis tuis, perducat te ad vitam aeternam."

Funny - when I quote like this for beth she gets scared. Maybe in past life we met with me as her 'Grand Inquisitor'.
