The thought is still there, unvoiced. When those countries make other laws to restrict Free Speech, they will point to other laws already in place that restrict Free Speech. What is it that people do not understand about the need for Free Speech in a republic? quote:

ORIGINAL: OrionTheWolf It is a nice thought but there will always be second class citizens somewhere. Equality is an illusion, and if you think about it, it should be. Now equitable treatment under the law is a different story, but if someone does not like the fact I am white, or from the south, I am okay with that. They are allowed to feel and believe anyway they wish. Wow... just wow. Some countries successfully legalised against hate speech, by the way, if you wonder how it can be done. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hate_speech#Laws_against_hate_speech Yeah you can force people not to talk about something, so how do you restrict their thought or speaking of it in the privacy of their own homes? It does not stop the thoughts, it merely creates criminals and restricts the exchange of ideas. I can see why some want to do that. So if there were laws passed that said you could not speak about homosexuality, would those laws be okay? quote:
ORIGINAL: kittinSol Yeah, I know, pop... the link was providing evidence that it can be done... elsewhere, at least. It's a question of political will.
