Mind you I do believe in free speech. However when you are in a public position.. esp one which you are voted into by the people. Hate speech and prejudice should not be tollerated. If this was back in the 1930's she would be complaining about the Colored Folks.

Rome lasted for centuries openly gay.

Did you actually make it through that second video? I got so furious I had to stop listening.

If I prayed I'd pray for her to get hit by a bus.

Over population's a huge problem.  Honestly, if homosexuality does ever take off, it may be pretty good for the world.

Not that I think it'd happen, but it'd be quite a simple solution to many of today's problems, as many stem from the world trying to support too many humans.

Sweetie... we have been around as long as humans have been upright.

I'm afraid you've entirely missed the point.  Perhaps the phrase "ever does take off" was confusing?

Yah well they call this double-think.

You cant be a proponent of free speech then wish to suppress it in the same sentence so you have to make up your mind what you want.

It isnt a choice or a I woke up and decided I was gay kinda thing.. Good god knows some of us would change if we could just to make it easier on our selves, and our families if we could. ( folks can go get bent as far as I am concerned I am happy with who I am... but I know lots who are not)

It is hard wired. So it can not be a "life style" or a "Choice".

There are biological differances in the brain and other systems they have found from gays and straight people.

That is why your "if it ever takes off" comment was answered as I did.

We simply can not recruit. Thankfuly we already have Angelina Jolie. ( she is Bi )

So all is right with the world. *smiles*

No offense ment.. I was just surpised by your words.

Homosexuality is an entirely natural, beneficial and adaptive behaviour for humans.

Some hold the misguided idea, that homosexuality is a perversion and denial of our "obligation" to produce offspring (usually at the insistence of some absentee deity). They have failed to appreciate the significant and sometimes singular contributions made by those among us who are not completely entangled in raising children.

Homosexuals are nature's way of making sure that, in every village, there are at least a few folks likely thinking outside the box (so to speak).

I'll have to tell you right now that I truly doubt homosexuality is just biological.  It strikes me as absurd to believe anything is just in the genes, and I doubt there's a "gay gene".

I do believe that homosexuality and heterosexuality- whichever it happens to be- is the result of something far more complex.  I doubt either genetics or socialization alone is responsible for it.  Hell, even things such as nutrition likely play a strong factor (as nutrition affects hormones which affect sexual tendancies).

I do believe a society far more tolerant of homosexuality will see an increase in it.  (Which, as I'd like to point out, I didn't claim was a bad thing at all.)  I do believe that social trends can cause an incerase or a decease in homosexuality.

I am unusure if the biological component to sexuality is surficient to ensure that homo or heterosexualitywill always be in their same relative magnitudes.  (In other words, most people are straight, but I'm not sure if that'll always be true.  I don't see why it has to be that way.)

I can envision a world in which more people are gay than straight, and I don't see why it can't happen.

Does this mean bisexuals are more or less dangerous to America? And Islam hasn't hurt the US anymore then Christianity has. People who practice a militant form of either religion and hate the US (or one side of it) are the danger.

While yes, she does have the right to free speech just like any other American, she admitted in her speech that making such statements was dangerous. Closeminded cow.

I do not think it is 100% biological either.. however one simply does not make the choice to be gay. they can however stiffle it... and many have. ( that is why we have so many debates over just how many gays are running around.)

The more we reach twords acceptance of homosexuality it will allow those who are not openly gay or those who have repressed who they are to be open in a society who would value them as a "normal" person. It will not increase homosexuality at all perse... it will just alow them to come out of hiding.

We have to remember there are political refugees who are here on asylum because they are gay and were hunted down, hurt, raped, and threatened in thier own countries. http://commentisfree.guardian.co.uk/peter_tatchell/2006/05/stop_deporting_gay_refugees.html

It was only on May 17th 1990 ( yes 1990 folks.... ) when the World Health Organisation finally removed homosexuality from its list of mental disorders. Even today, however, nearly 80 countries outlaw homosexuality and six enforce the death penalty for same-sex relationships.

Is it *any* wonder why so many world wide are still in the closet? Hell and we are seen as progressive with people like her being in office still, and Bush on his pulpit as president demonizing and making Gays out to be the next worst thing ( other then his axis of evil )

Jamaica will never have the knowledge of my cute little booty on it's shores because of it's treatment of gays. I could never take my family there.

Fuck that.

Gwyn

susan powter.

and i'd rather pay to see one of those really masculine butch tops go grab her, bend her backwards, and give her a tongue tonsillectomy that makes her head spin.

that way we make the lesbians happy to see it, and most of the men of the world who only wanna see 2 women do a one on one then beg them to join the party...

kitten, who's been having the song "two ladies" from cabaret running through her head this am....

The real radical extremists of course, are the likes of me. We're in deep cover - no one in the alliance of religiosity would know who we are, as we work tirelessly to undermine the foundations of Christian society.

We blend easily into social situations, insinuating ourselves into all levels of the culture, waiting the day when all shall be in place to bring down western values through our gay and lesbian friends, and we fifth columnists take out the ungodly from within their own strongholds.

And of course, as dedicated as we are to the cause, we at no time risk ourselves by sexual relationships with males or females that might expose our presence in the system. At least thats my story and I'm sticking to it. No, its not that I cant get any. Not at all.

The approach is all wrong.   The hardcore religious types would kill all the gays.

Rather then deamand an apoligy which is civil but doesnt address the meat of the argument, specifically, how is it that a gay policy maker is bad?  I doubt it.

I do not want to live in a gay mecca.  It is not for me.  Many are not comfortable with the "in your face" gayness.

As a public official she doesnt have the type of free speech that lay folks have.  Oklahoma is a backwards state.

In a way it is up to the locals to put her in her place.  She ought to expand on what makes good governance.

What irritates me about the gay movement is it is about sexuality and sexuality in a public place, as if they treat themselves as a sort of ethnic minority. I have zero problems with gay or bi, but to me what gay and bi is , is a preference not an ethnicity or religion. The open public onslaught irritates less open minded people because it is in their face and not the bedroom or other private space. Would we , kinky folk receive the same  reception from the public at large if we were to openly move around in public advocating BDSM . In this country a man leading a girl by a leash received massive hate directed at them to point where a public service operator assaulted the man.Perhaps that is an indicator that we would not be accepted

A permissive society we are not, maybe not yet, or even will ever be, people's preference should be a private thing. Those that have a preference in any direction will find their own kind if they seek it, most have through time before the wonders of modern technology

On the other hand, though, i think that if a political figure does have views like this, it's important that their constituents be aware of it. If someone on our town council thought that i was evil and a threat to society, i would certainly be taking that into consideration when voting time rolled around!

The real interesting question is, will she be re-elected?

The flambouyant type.   It can be annoying.  On the one hand I can understand the want to express themself,  the road to such is a tough one.   On the other hand there is a time and place.

Funny thing, I have had 2  or 3 try to fry me the way a heterosexual would be fried, which doesnt work.

Most transactions in life- it isnt relevent tho. I only came out to my family cause I was backed in a corner and asked a direct question. As it turns out- it was a good outcome, but there was many turbulant years due to it.

The lady is right- correct when noting suicide stats.

I guess I can get along with everybody.  [but] I am sure glad I can be at home and shut out the world.

I'm a Christian and know I'm gonna catch a lot of flack for admitting so especially from what I've seen on other threads.  But, please try to keep in mind we are not all judgemental, loud mouth, hate mongers.

I have many friends in and out of the lifestyle who are gay or bi.  I accept them as they accept me because we share the same values...

Judge NOT!!
