I'm stealing! quote:
ORIGINAL: colouredin I have no evidence that I am in love and yet I am I cant prove to myself what I feel is love, i cant quantify it, and compare it to other people, it just is the whole if you cant prove it its not there thoery is redundent I kind of dug what she was saying. Now the discussion is - God doesn't exist and if you can't prove he does, then he doesn't. Now to some people, God is the same. He is a feeling. Something you cannot quantify or compare. Say you 'hear him'? Your mad, insane. We aren't just talking christianity - To some others, the goddess or mother nature is the same. You cant compare - you cannot quantify. In the same way - no one can disprove the existance of a god or gods or goddess'. So if you cannot disprove nor prove because it is a personal feeling - like love. Why the arguments? the.dark. - who is also stealing this - quote:
How do you know what "god" is? Do you experience the same "god" others do, or is it just similar enough to give the same name? Aren't there many different definitions and types of "god" ? My point is that you feel something. It's quite real- you experience it. You call this experience "god". So long as it persists, you have "god". When it fails, it's colloquial to say that one has "fallen away from god". It's not a realm for some metaphysical being, but a real, physical thing that's happening inside of your mind and body. Honestly, I think it's a pretty beautiful thing, even when you do put it under a microscope a bit.
