Maybe they are trying to tell you something about themselves, like maybe they aren't submissive out side of their super private existence. As a dominant this could be really good info to have if you expect your sub/slave to be less alpha-ish as a general rule on most occasions....And not someone who will peacock around until you are behind closed doors.
For example i am not an alpha chick, sure i can get my dander up at times, but generally, i am a submissive type to the bone. So i'm sure it was useful for my Daddy to know that he wasn't going to have a chick that would be expected to be alpha. i can stand up for myself at times, though not always in a good way..If he had wanted an alpha chick he would've known off the bat that i would not be her....Conversely, if he wanted someone more generally docile and whatever it is that i am, then it would've been great info for him to know if i made it a point to say just how alpha i tend to be most of the time, around most people.
